“Something Special”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

There are miniature railway trips and there are miniature railway trips, but this was something really different and special. I had not expected it to be as good as it was. To a certain extent it was huge admiration for the man who created it. The engineering feat was staggering - the bridges and tunnels, the unique NZ bush and glimpses of the sea, embankments made of wine bottles and home made bricks, artistic decorations in the bush made from clay fired tiles. It is great fun and great value.

“Agree with everything said before”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013 via mobile

A wonderful experience, well worth the €25 dollars. To think this was inspired and created by one man - amazing. We stopped off at the organic restaurant just before the railway, different is the word that comes to mind!

We loved the town of Coromandel (reminded us of old colonial buildings in pictures of times gone by) we would recommend a walk around this town (you drive through it to get to the Railway so why not stop off).

“Unique local experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

Breathtaking scenery and view, unique activity and lovely location. It was such a relaxed yet fun experience... the train is very cute and the people are very passionate about what they do. Also loved the glass blowing demonstration.

“Loved every minute of it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

I managed to convince my wife to "take the train". She argued that we did not have our kids with us... Afterwards she agreed that the trip and expense was worth it! In fact, many of the passengers were couples without kids.
The total story around this adventure ride, make it so much of an attraction. The story behind the creator, the challenges he faced, the contributions and also the enthusiasm of the staff.
Highly recommended as it is a great inspiration to us all!
