“Still a rewarding trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

This was our 2nd trip on the Driving Creek railway and it is still an enjoyable excursion. It still amazes me what Gary Brickell has imagined and made happen in terms of the layout and building of this railway. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

“Very Enjoyable Little Railway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

You need eccentric people to come up with interresting things. History is full of them and our lives are richer because of it. A very enjoyable trip up the hill to the Eyefull Tower at the top. Great bush , views and commentary. Our second trip and it won't be our last and its in the middle of a very scenic pasrt of the North Island of New Zealand.

“Worth The Trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

We enjoyed the trip, took just over an hour. Quite a quirky little railway really, the ride up the hill through native bush was pleasurable. The Driver/Guide gave an interesting commentary on the way up and a talk when we reached the top. Excellent views from the viewing platform. I think there is the potential to make more of the station area, I think they have missed a trick there. Worth the trip though.

“What an inspiration !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

One man had a passion and a dream. He has shared both with the public. Highly recommend seeing what passion, stamina, drive and hard work that goes on for years can achieve. Would recommend a visit if you are in the area. Great views but it all about the story of one man and friends to achieve a dream / goal.

“A Must See!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

It is a good idea to book your place over the busy summer months, especially the school holiday period. This can be done by phone or e-mail (2 day minimum for latter). The staff are very friendly, courteous and helpful even though they are dealing with hundreds of public each day! There is lots to learn and see and one can easily spend a couple of hours here if watching the DVD presentation, viewing the sculpture garden, taking the bush walk, viewing the owners private art collection in the new gallery etc. This attraction has improved hugely since I last visited in 1992 with 3 km of track now and a fantastic viewing tower at the property boundary. A must see for old and young!
