“Fantastic holiday - amazing staff!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

We have just returned from the most lovely holiday at Coconut Bay, we had a fantastic time.
This was our first Carribean holiday and we were slightly unsure what to expect, also going on our first major holiday with our 15 month old baby was also slightly daunting but I can safely say that the AMAZING staff at Coconut bay made this holiday truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome, drinks on check in (plus endless measures during our stay), notes in our room and a cheery 'Hello' from everyone you meet makes this hotel so special. The warmth rubs off onto the guests and you spend your time chatting to people around the pool like you've known them for years (the rum could also aid that?!).
Our room was one of the newer refurbished rooms and it was totally acceptable for our family, our baby struggled a bit with sleep, for whatever reason but I think this was mainly because she was in the same room as us and she wasn't used to it. After a few days we were truly exhausted and we decided to introduce her to the kids club! WOW!!! That is all I can say, our little girl is very sociable and although apprehensive every morning when we dropped her off she totally LOVED it (and so did we) the staff all deserve a special mention, Sarah, Ania, Eulia, Mia, Nasha and Zina. Towards the end of our stay we were totally taking advantage and leaving our little girl for the whole day where she would go for lunch and eat more than she ever ate when we went with her!! This literally made our holiday as it really helped by husband and I to relax on our last few days.
The resort is fantastic, the endless food is amazing and my waistline has significantly expanded in 12 days. We dined in all the restaurants and need to mention the delicious steak in Calabash, truly the most amazing steak I have ever eaten and served by Yolo was a treat!!
All the food was great, certainly american styled but I would say there would be something for everyone here. The bar staff are something else and we loved spending our time by the swim up bar where we met Kerdy who became a special lady to us on the stay! She really looked after us and along with the other pool bar staff Kay, Dhalia and Skeete served us drinks all day!!
We went out for a day on a private full Island excursion which I would definitely recommend and we also tried to involve ourselves in the daily activities. A walk up the local quarry hill is a must, and we walked up with our little girl on our backs on the last night for a sunset photo!! Beautiful view! I could waffle on for hours about what a lovely stay we had but this resort is somewhere we have said we could consider coming back to and generally we would never go somewhere twice. I hope that when we have more children we can bring them all to Coconut bay in the future! Book it and don't doubt it!!

Room Tip: Refurbished splash sea and pool view was lovely - 4th floor!

Thanks Trip Adviser for this site. My wife and I just returned from CB last night after 7 great days at this property. 11/2-11/9/13
CB is 5 minutes from the airport..very big when you see the commute times to the other properties on the west side. You hear the jets at certain times in the afternoon but it is minimum.
We booked with Costco mainly because we trust them on any deals that they may be involved with. The reviews on this property really speak for themselves. I am employed in the Hospitality/Entertainment field and know about how you treat guest.
This staff led by Mark the GM is THE BEST I have ever encountered...Understand there are 5 star hotels that may provide a higher level of service (5 stars) but at this price range NOTHING will come close to your experience here. We received great tips on Trip Adviser re: asking for the Harmony Suites upper floors. They were recently fully upgraded in September. We were on the top (4th) floor which had stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. Somehow this property can fully combine family’s with adults only and makes it work... It was also quite and comfortable. The staff is beyond words...from the moment we rolled into the open lobby and were met by Eric our Guest service rep. who sat down with us (no waiting in long lines at a front desk) and explained all our package details while we sipped a complementary fruit punch. Eric then took us on a complete tour of the property before bringing us to our room. There are bars in all the right places but I never saw crazy...sloppy drunken people. Possibly... because of the family thing? Big Ted the Beverage Manager was always ready to bring your favorite drink when he saw you and never forgets a name! Our room attendant Shirley made sure our room was spotless every day including her own touches of different floral pedals on our bed including fun towel sculptures! The previous reviews mention a problem with seaweed on the beach. They do have a bunch of it and they never stop clearing it out. Don't let it scare you. There are plenty of openings and the beach gets better the farther you walk to the left of the main beach. CB supplies plenty of water sports (non motorized) that I recommend you check out. Paddle boards and Kayaks were fantastic. If you are into Kite Boarding or Wind Surfing...this may be one the best place on earth for these sports! They also have a huge reef that is a short swim that had good snorkeling (depending on clarity) that could save you an excursion.
As far as excursions AGAIN trip adviser reviews kept mentioning Vicky with More than a Cab...
DEAD ON...I contacted Vicky a month before arrival and worked out a private tour of all the sites. She was fantastic. We not only did the full experience but she took us to a beautiful Caribbean Ocean Beach that had amazing snorkeling!! All at our own pace... Lunch was on me..Vicky took us to a locals place for lunch and we experienced foods we wouldn’t get in the tourist spots. The food was really delicious and fresh. A fantastic day..Thanks to Vicky.

Room Tip: Harmony 4th floor ..No doubt!

This was our first time to St. Lucia and Coconut Bay Resort was the most wonderful experience. Staff were professional and courteous and we would like to give special thanks to our concierge Eric who was most helpful. Stanza of the housekeeping staff created a wonderful bird sculpture out of a towel and rose petals on our bed which made our 25th anniversary special. Tyler in the Coconut Walk restaurant was also a very pleasant young woman along with all of the rest of the staff who are too numerous to name that made the experience the best ever. Thank you to the General Manager, Mark, for his professionalism which makes the resort what it is.
The resort is only a 5 min drive to the resort which made the experience be able to last longer right up until flight time. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the fourth floor. They had a wonderful view of the ocean as well as were modern and...

Hotel is amazingly close to the airport which was perfect after our long flight but actually does not cause any problems with noise pollution..you hear 2 or 3 planes take off in the afternoon if you are sitting by the pool but none landing and it's not the busiest of airports!
Efficient and friendly check-in with a rum punch welcome and within minutes we were shown to our room. Great position (416) giving lovely sea views and close enough to stairs/lift. Room was clean and tidy; lovely large and comfortable bed for us and proper single beds for our children (11 and 8 years old). Bathroom basic but clean with lovely supply of clean thick towels and toiletries.
Food was lovely with a varied enough menu but still the usual pasta etc. as a back up when the children were not feeling adventurous! Our first night there was the most delicious rib of beef ever (Sunday roast) but there were lots of other choices including veggie options. Children loved the handmade pizzas by the pool for lunch while we preferred to escape the heat of the day and go inside for a lovely fresh salad and the delights of the buffet. Fresh popcorn was a nice extra poolside.
We tried Silks but actually preferred the selection of the buffet. We didn't try the other 2 restaurants although the menus looked good.
The bars had plenty of staff serving, all of whom were very friendly, and soft drinks and tea and coffee were all on tap to help yourself.
The poolside staff were equally friendly and very alert to safety on the slides etc.
Finally the kids club....it was amazing! On registration you get a fabulous gift of a bag, baseball cap,drink-cup and t-shirt. The staff were really fun and although the timetable was excellent they were happy to change things around to suit the little ones. My children usually prefer to stay with us on holiday but this time I couldn't keep my 8 year old away from Kids club...she even went in the evening to a parade and a tent party where they had hot chocolate and marshmallows, and she was most dissappointed we were leaving before the pyjama party! I would have to say Kids club is the jewel in the crown of Coconut Bay.
There is a small beach area at the hotel with sun beds etc and an enjoyable walk can be had along the sand. There is a lot of seaweed, but that's nature and the staff are constantly doing their best to clear it.
All in all, a very enjoyable stay at a nice hotel with the cheeriest and friendliest staff of any hotel I have visited!

My Husband and i travelled here on 13th of October this year with a few family & friends to get married.
We have visited other caribbean destinations before and always enjoyed, but all i can say is this was totally perfect.
We went for 2 weeks, stayed in a premium ocean harmony room, our cleaner for the room was Pearl & did a fantastic job every day.
Food was excellent, bar staff excellent and could not do enough for you. Do try a dirty Banana & a rum punch (very strong on the rum though).
Food was 1st class, great selection and could not go hungry. I would say even if you are a fussy, there is a choice for everyone.
Everyone we travelled with had a great time and have all said they would go back.
If you are considering getting married here, i would say do it. Wedding team, Barbara & Onita where very friendly and took control of everything. We got married in the beach gazebo and we where the only wedding that day. We had a cocktail reception after and had music on in the background with endless amounts of champers. Then that evening we went to calabash for a fantastic meal.
Beach is lovely, yes there is seaweed, but tractor goes up and down all day clearing it, so do not be put of. Pools where great and lazy river and slides good fun. And canoes on the beach at no charge, which where again a good giggle. Great for people who also like to snorkell, my husband loved that and water very warm and shallow which is nice. Must get up for a sunrise as it is stunning and you do not need to fight for sun loungers, there is plenty and never over crowded. Went to the spa wich again was lovely with my mother in law and maid of honor and would advise to try the aloe vera wrap, freshly picked just as we arrived, was very relaxing.
If we could go back right now, we would, but we will 100% be back in the future. Hopefully in time for our 1st anniversary.

Room Tip: Harmony side, no kids, 3rd or 4th floor has great sea views.

Stayed October 27 - Nov 3. Have avoided St Lucia in the past because we didn't want to sit on a bus for 2 hours after a 5 hour flight. Stumbled on this gem ( formerly the Club Med many moons ago) which is only 5 min from the airport. Only time you hear the planes is when they take off late afternoon and there are only 2 -3 per day. Arrivals come in on the opposite side. We have stayed at several all inclusives in the past & this is the first that we did not have to wear those annoying wrist bands. So far, so good. We were in the Harmony section on the third floor. Room was cleaned early and very well - thanks Marcia. Beds were very firm and albeit high off the floor, very comfortable. If you need anything, Ed Evans is the go to person. Staff were very friendly and attentive - did not encounter any surly staff at all. As to previous reports re bugs - we saw ZERO mosquitos and only a couple of very tiny ants. Came home with no bites which is refreshing. Food - always found something to eat. Went to Calabash once and it was very good. However, we stayed away from the a la cartes the rest of the trip because I wasn't going to wear a closed shoe - sorry, it was just too hot & humid & it's the Islands! Beach had a lot of seaweed but they are constantly out there raking, etc. Still, walking on the beach was easy because sand was firm. Rained a lot but not one day was a complete washout - sun always came out. Sun tracker beds were great but not much shade. As for entertainment, Country Hoe Down was pretty good - uh, Mark, don't give up your day job. Arranged a half day trip to see the volcano, botanical garden & waterfall.

All in all, a relaxing trip to a resort that we would return to.

Room Tip: Harmony for Adults 3rd or 4th Floor
