“Friendliest welcome ever, very close to the airport, Staff and food amazing. Please feed the dogs and the Donkeys”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

Beautiful smooth flight with British Airways, collected from the Airport and driven to the hotel, where a wonderful steel band and rum punch awaited us. Reception was lovely, very quick and smooth transition. Porter took our bags to the room. The room was pleasant, looking a little tired, as were all of the facilities, but they are closing down in Sept for a month for major renovations, and, I have to say, did not detract from the place at all.

Entertainment was a bit hit and miss especially the Country singer, it was a bit wierd hearing Glenn Campbell coming from a balck man in a white suit !!! That is not racisist in ANY way, his voice was not that great. However the dancing was top notch !.

Mum and I took part in the Aquarobics in the mornings and my god he was brilliant, nearly killed us mind !. We also had a couple of crazy games of volleyball.

We went on the Island day trip that the rep sold us, it was expensive at $160, but, worth every penny, we went on a coach around the island,, had a fantastic sail on a catamaran, had lunch on baord and drinks, went up the volcano and around the tropical gardens. Then we went to a Plantation House and met two lovely women and had afternoon tea.

The food was superb and the staff were amazing. Especially Fenton and Saskia on reception the young pregnant girl in the gift shop (sorry forgotten her name).

The Lazy river was a blast, a bit shabby but as in everything is getting refurbished.

The only thing that spoilt it for me is the two dogs on the property, one is a sandy coloured one that lives on the beach and the other lives with the donkeys, they get some care from the staff, but do need keeping an eye out for, and I hate the fact that the donkeys are tied to trees and cannot wander free. They need to fence the area so tourists can still interact but they can be free. Mr Charles, (The Security Chief) was absolutely brilliant when I did my typical British Tourist act and cried about the dogs, he has promised to look out for them. They are both the most loveable and friendly creatures you could wish to meet. so. if you are feeling kind, take some food and fresh water out to them and some carrotts for the donkeys.

All in all I will definately go back next year and cannot praise the staff enough for making us so welcome and for looking after us so well.

Room Tip: Splash rooms are for families, Harmony is adults only side, but has smaller pool.

Went to the hotel for our annual family outing and I must say I do not regret Choosing Coconut Bay beach Resort and Spa as out hotel of choice this year. What we founf especially excellent was the hospitality of the staff! For example. Saskia a front desk clerk was so patient and helpful with us even though we called a thousand times for information. Thank u for making this trip enjoyable.

Traveled in June which is rainy season. It was overcast most of the days but still fun. It rains for a few minutes every day but doesn't interrupt your fun. If you are prone to bug bites beware. Take bug spray and use it. My family was bit a lot. Some people it didn't effect. The water slides were a hit and so much fun for adults and kids. The swim up bar was a blast also. The staff was exceptional. Andrea and Mitch at the swim up bar we're awesome as was Dean. Everyone remembers you and are fun to talk with. Eric was over the top in getting our lost luggage to us within 24 hours. He went above and beyond. The whole resort knew we lost luggage and all the staff followed up and asked about it. We loved hanging out in the lobby in the evenings for drinks and entertainment. The food was ok, always something to suit everyone. I would recommend coconut bay. The staff and water slides were the key to our great vacation. Keep your staff cb!

Room Tip: We had a first floor splash which was nice with kids they could walk right out on the patio and go t...

This was mine & my boyfriend's first visit to the Caribbean, we are so pleased we chose St Lucia & especially Coconut Bay. We cannot praise the staff enough, every single one of them was so polite, friendly & helpful. A special mention has to go to, Junias, Nikiter & Honey at the adult bar & Sarah our room cleaner. Junias is such a great person, so friendly, will talk to anyone & everyone & makes you feel so welcome. He also has such a positive outlook on life! Sarah our cleaner, always kept our room spotless & left nice touches on the bed with flowers & notes to wish us a good day.

The swimming pools were great, they were cleaned daily, were a good size & there were 3 to choose from. The activity pool had something happening in it at least once a day for entertainment/exercise. The adult pool was perfect if you wanted somewhere abit more relaxing & quieter. You will also find the sun tracker beds on the adult side which were perfect for chasing the sun.
The hotel had a great variety of restaurants to choose from, our favourite being calabash which was local creole cuisine. There was also an Asian, Italian, beach grill & main buffet restaurant to choose from, all offering fantastic food!
The rooms are a great size, we never ever had any problems with noise on the Harmony side. The rooms could do with slight modernisation however we believe this is being completed in September for the entire hotel, take no notice of people who complain about the rooms they're absolutely fine! Who really books a holiday to spend a week or 2 sitting in their room all day everyday!??

There are plenty of activities to do, all booked within the hotel if you wish too. The sunset cruise & horse riding on the beach were fantastic. The beach is also fine, agreed there is seaweed but its not a major issue at all. It's a beach, what do you expect?

Overall this was a fantastic holiday, we will definitely be back & next time for longer than a week! We cannot compliment the staff or the hotel as a whole enough! Brilliant!

A return visit for a quick 7 day relaxation holiday to banish the memories of a long cold UK winter. Main holiday is in the Autumn but decided an extra one in summer would be helpful. A challenge to all, by my watch it took 55mins from stepping off the plane, to arriving at the hotel, checking-in and dipping toes in the warm sea!
Was at this hotel last October and therefore was surprised to be recognised and to receive a raucous welcome from Junias at the Adult pool bar. To deflate his ego I demanded my 'usual' cocktail but to my astonishment he immediately served the perfect (whatever it is). The man is amazing and kept all amused throughout my week's stay.
Was accommodated on the 4th floor harmony and was very content with the room, service, view etc. There have been a number of subtle refurbishments throughout the hotel which have improved the holiday experience. The food was superb and plentiful with the expected local dishes and now some American favourites (even tried waffles for breakfast). The hotel is installing a new Wifi system which unfortunately was not operational by the time I left. The existing Wifi was adequate but coverage was restricted to the main lounge. When the new system is available access will be available throughout.
A peaceful time of relaxation was much appreciated however, beware British Airways travellers the flight back was full and awful with Club World running out of food! Most of the passengers were from Port of Spain.

Room Tip: Rooms in Harmony are extremely comfortable. The double glazing cuts out all external noise and doub...

Well, the hotel is not new and has wear and tear, however.....

Pool, lazy river and slides are great, has sloping entrance into main pool ideal for toddlers, has a pool bar too. Only 2 slides but the lazy river was great for getting our 1 year old asleep.

Kids club, kids play areas wet and dry very good fun.

Food was faultless for an all inclusive, loads and loads of choice, always fresh with some dishes cooked in front of you, whether breakfast, lunch or dinner very very good. If you didn't want to eat in restaurant then by the pool you could have wraps, burgers, pizza etc.

Not stingy on drinks and loads of great cocktails alcoholic or non alcoholic for the kids.

Recommend flying with Virgin, plus resort is only 10 minute from airport.

And.... For chocolate lovers, Hotel Chocolat estate (rabot) is only about half hour away.

Was very sad to be leaving here, ticked all the boxes.

This was our 2nd visit to an all-inclusive hotel. Our previous visit was the Breezers Hotel in Bahamas for our honeymoon, which ticked nearly all boxes. While, this was a tough act to follow, The coconut Bay, St Lucia came very close.

For a 4 star hotel with a pre-booked upgrade the room was basic. The cleaner did a very good job with not just the standard duties but enhanced this by making decorative designs from towels and floral decorations on the bed.

The hotel was impecabably clean throughout and it was clear the staff worked hard to maintain these standards.

The food choices each night were well varied and there was always something to satisfy all tastes. The only disappointment was the Silk restaurant where food was served cold and staff were robotic with their standard patter.

My wife and I rely on good entertainment and on the whole we weren’t disappointed. The aqua aerobics conducted 5 days by Vernon was worth getting ready for at 11am. Outside of this, there were plenty of sporty events, which were well run in a fun way. I felt some events could have been announced clearer, especially as they did not always go to what was advertised.

There was some outstanding evening entertainment. The highlights were Tuesday 7-9 pm female singer who captured the whole of the lobby (forget her name) and Saturday evening Country and Western Singer (I believe surname was Stone, great show sir). There was alternative entertainment ( apart from making your own) if there was some act you did not like, which was occasionally the case, and with a repetitive loop for 2nd week was something you had to put up with.

A big plus was being so close to the airport; the transfer was less than two minutes, which was bonus on arrival and departure. The sound of few planes taking off during day was not a distraction.

The hotel being isolated meant day trips were difficult to book. These required certain numbers of people to make them viable and each day you needed to ask the lady at the desk whether your expected trip was going ahead.

The best feature of hotel was the service and friendliness of the staff. They were incredibly welcoming and seemed genuinely pleased to serve you, while seeming to be working long shifts. The bar staff were focused on serving and engaging in a way that was beyond the call of duty. This ethic was spread with any service provided.

One criticism was the lack of Internet access. There was one working PC; otherwise we were reliant on using hand held devices in the lobby hot-zone, which was not always reliable. While I was fine with these restrictions, I know how inconvenient this can be with certain travelers that need to keep up the World Wide Web.

In summary the pluses outweigh the minuses and would thoroughly recommend the resort. Especially so after September this year when the place will be closed for a refurbishment and no doubt they will put right some of the faults.
