“Don't bother”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2011

A late flight arrival prompted us to look for a hotel close to the airport to spend one night before heading on to our resort destination nearly 1.5 hours drive away. After checking reviews on TripAdvisor, we selected this place -- never again. For nearly $100US, hot water would have been nice. Restaurant was closed when we arrived, so we'd requested a light meal or sandwich from the bar -- which turned out to be one cold grilled cheese sandwich for the two of us (cheese and bread, nothing else) at a cost of $15. Our room was sort of clean, but run down, without even a mattress cover under the sheets -- we slept with our clothes on, worried about bugs (fortunately, no bites). Breakfast was standard, and at least the hotel provides Internet access (hello, fancy resorts) but next time we'll spend the money to go to a higher class of hotel.

Room Tip: Ensure you are not beneath the dining room, or you will hear chairs and tables being scraped across...

“Two Weeks.....Juliette's Lodge”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2011

The best part about this hotel is the kind staff! They were very nice and even those who didn't need to help us such as grounds keeper, would go out of his way to get us what we needed. It was nice having a free breakfast, bar and restaurant on site. The beach was just a short walk away, and the room had a TV with MANY familiar channels. There was also Wifi in the room but it was very spotty. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment and it was spacious. If I compared Juliette's Lodge to say a Motel 6 I would give it 1 star. There were cockroaches, ants and apparently bed bugs in the room as I am now breaking out in painful bites. Every day the maid would come make our beds but would not change the sheets. I do not know if they were changed in the two weeks we were there. I knew because there was sand in the sheets each night. I was considering it a posible place to return to, but now since I have been bitten 100 times with bed bugs from there, I think I will pass on future visits. One good thing is it is very close to the airport! Also, the frogs outside in the trees are so noisy, don't expect to sleep well the first couple of nights or bring ear plugs!

“comfortable hotel, friendly staff, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2011

I stayed here for two weeks with a group volunteering at St. Jude's hospital. The hotel was clean and free from bugs. Internet access was hit or miss, but I found that to be true almost anywhere on the island. The outlets were three pronged (power converter labeled Great Britain, Ireland, Africa, Hong Kong, Singapore; not Caribbean). The air conditioning worked very well.

The staff was very friendly and egar to share their culture. A maintenace man helped us obtain local fruits and even took us by the pool and cut down some fresh coconuts so we could taste them.

The location of the hotel made experiencing St. Lucian culture easy. The restaurant at the bottom of the hill served great chicken burgers ($4 US) and french fries. If you turn right on the main road and walk there is a restaurant that does karaoke on Thursday nights (starting around 9pm). It's past a gas station and some tennis courts. If you turn left on the main road outside of Juliette's Lodge walk past Coconut Bay resort and keep walking to the beach (about 15 minutes). There you'll find the Reef restaurant where you can rent beach chairs, have a drink, or enjoy a meal. Try the fresh local juices. Don't forget to pick up a beach towel at the front desk before heading to the beach. Walk 15 minutes more past the beach away from Juliette's and you are in town. Cars drive very close to the road so stay on the grass as much as possible. The bank is on the left hand side (closes at 2pm) and super J's supermarket is on the right hand side. If you continue on the road past the bank there are lots of shops and people selling fruit by the road. There is an ice cream shop in the mall before you reach the supermarket that has a lot of wonderful fruit flavored ice creams.

Juliette's was a great experience. I would definately go back.

Room Tip: My room overlooked the pool and had lots of sun coming in the window by 6am. Other rooms have thick...

“A Nice Family Run Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2011

We stayed here as our first stop hotel whilst travelling around St Lucia from the 11th November until the 13th. The hotel was great. Julliette and her daughters who help run the hotel were excellent. Very knowledgable as we spent a good few hours talking to Julliette and the family are very friendly. The hotel its self is very convieniantley located near to the airport and was a great first impression of St Lucia. The rooms are clean, nicely appointed with tv, fridge, shower and air conditioning, more than adequite for our stay. Breakfast was good. A selection of cerials, toast, yoghurts, tea, coffee, pastries or you could opt for a cooked breakfast which was a small additional charge but worth it, if you have a day of activity planned. The area of vieux fort is very quiet but relaxing. There are a few bars and a good selection of beach cafe's and bars but not much else. So if your looking for booming discos and areas full of activity (which we werent) then i would look to the north of the island. Overall Julliettes Lodge is a great hotel and we would return here when visiting St Lucia again.

“Convenient and comfortable but complacent!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2011

Good location - near to the airport but surprisingly quiet. Clean accommodation with good room facilities but dated decor. Convenient parking and close to the beach. Poolside area needs a good revamp. Breakfast was ok but could have offered more variety including fruit juices. Friendly staff. Property has great potential if it is revamped.

Room Tip: Don't be stuck up with the other guests - you can say
