“Lovely building with great surroundings... Shame about everything else!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013 via mobile

We recently stayed here at Salford Hall for a wedding. As you pull into the drive you straight away see the 14th century building... Which is breath taking! Lovely walk from the car park to the main reception with brilliant views. But unfortunately it went all downhill from here...

As we checked in we were greeted by the manageress who had an awful attitude, the attitude of not being bothered and not very welcoming and to be honest being damn right rude! She was like this for the whole day and when we asked questions I.e breakfast times etc. we where answered with a grunt and a snappy answer! this attitude filtered through to the rest of the staff.... Most of them seemed Very clueless and miserable! A smile wouldn't of gone a miss!

Room itself is very overpriced for what it is, the carpet was very dirty and the bed was not comfy atall!

Food was dreadful, very bland and not enough of it! We had beef, I say beef it tasted processed rather than fresh, with a bit of mash (made from the night before) and a bit of spinach! Everyone was crying out there to be veg but unfortunately that didn't arrive! The kids meals where nuggets and chips and were a lot bigger than the adult main meal! However, the dessert was fantastic! Again, being served by the staff just seemed to be a hassle for them, this was a wedding celebration for heavens sake!!

The evening buffet was at the same standard as the dinner ... Horrendous! 2x trays of fish paste sandwiches, spring rolls and samosa's brought from Iceland... Thank god the wedding cake was there!!

Breakfast in the morning was held in the conservatory. At first glance it looks very nice but as you enter it's very dirty, cob webs everywhere and randomly birds chirping away in the corner of the room, was cute at first but then got bloody annoying! The 'full' English breakfast was not so 'full' , but coffee was great!

Beer and wine was very fairly priced and the Veltins larger was spot on!

All in all we just didn't seem very welcomed and where very disappointed with our experience here. But the building and venue itself is fantastic.... It is such a shame about everything else as this could be a little gem!

My advice if your attending a wedding here.... Stay in the travel lodge about 5 miles away!

We got married at Salford hall in may 2013,and the whole day exceeded our expectations. We had a truly amazing day from start to finish!!!!...The place it so lovely and has so much character.
The staff were amazing on the day and everything flowed perfectly without a hitch.
The food was gorgeous which everyone commented on :).
If anyone is thinking of getting married here I would definately recommend it,Gemma the wedding coordinator is a little gem and nothing was to much trouble for her.All in all, we definately made the right decision!!!

I stayed at this hotel just for one night but the service was really good, the staff efficient, friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms were large with lots of character and a good supply of hot drinks and biscuits were available in the rooms. My only quibble was that although the radiators were off in the rooms they were quite stuffy despite having the windows open. The meals were well thought out with excellent presentation. Service was very good and nothing seemed too much trouble. Breakfast had an ample choice of fresh fruit, cereals, croissants and toast with a full English breakfast on top if you felt the need. Just a word of warning that if you are worried about ghosts be aware that several of our group had really strange encounters in the night. Overall a fantastic place to stay

This Hotel is a great base to tour from.On the day we arrived the staff couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. Our requests for assistance were attended to immediately, a faulty lamp was repaired within 15mins.
The room was clean and of a reasonable size. The breakfasts are great and set you up for the day!
We will definitely return to stay again, really enjoyed our stay for three nights at this lovely old hall.

We stayed at Salford hall on the 19th and 20th of August on a Wow Go deal and found the accommodation excellent. It's a great base to see a lot of places, Broadway is a must, picture postcard village with good pubs and eateries, Leamington Spa is very nice with a good shopping centre and a lovely park by the river suitable for a picnic and a bottle of Prosseco, I'd give Stratford a miss far too touristy and pricey and Evesham was also very nice. One downside, the evening menus at the hotel were I was told, poor some friends had the seabass and were very disappointed. If you come out of the hotel drive and turn right about 5 mins drive up the road on the right hand side is a pub called The Bell (Salford Prior) whee the food was excellent, I will review this later.

We also stayed 2 nights on a wowcher deal. Afternoon tea was ok the room was ok and the cleanliness ok. Loved the situation of the hotel, nice and quiet. we had a room at the top of the main hotel, the staff were plentiful and courteous, the food was excellent. For the money we paid which included two tickets to Warwick Castle it was fine and dandy and would recommend it. Just don't look to closely at the bits and pieces.
