Shepton Mallet was a place that had a dearth of restaurants for lunch. Sure there is Blostins and the pubs but Goodfellows offers a bistrot like menu which is supported by great service and a formidable array of tasty pastries to tempt the sinning dieter. Great atmosphere, WiFi is available and people can set up their laptops while waiting for their orders to arrive BUT NOT FOR LONG!! The food comes up fast and hot. Every entre is great. The Confit de Canard was as good as anything I have eaten in Languedoc, the land of the duck! Sandwiches are also on offer for those wanting a light lunch and a soup of the day is available. The place is what Shepton Mallet needed for years and now it makes its valuable contribution. I hope it remains offering lunches at very reasonable price and afternoon tea or coffee with continental type 'pasticerie' cakes.
