“Friendly, relaxed and fun evening out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

We have used Los Amigos for many years and have always found it a very relaxed and charming environment. We have always had very good food, mainly steak, and often found a wide variety of specials to suit most budgets. There is always a broad range of nice and fairly priced wine, and we have always found all options to be in stock.
The staff make a real effort with children, even during the evening, and I would say it is a perfect birthday venue as has an uplifting atmosphere.
We are always made to feel very welcome, even on a late mid week evening and have never been rushed into leaving.
Having tried many establishments in Hove, the warmth and familiarity combined with the well priced and appealing menu keeps bringing us back.

“great mexican food in an enjoyable atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

Last saturday i visited los amigos for the first time, and it left me wondering why i'd left it so long! i was aware it is a much loved restaurant and for this reason was hesitant about going at the weekend, however although it was busy i was pleasantly suprised at the staff's ability to cope with this, and the service was impeccable. The attentiveness and warmth really added to the experience.

The food and wine is clearly well sourced; i was advised by several brightonians that los amigos serve the best steak going, and i was not disappointed. I would also recommend the organic rioja which compimented it perfectly. Furthermore my two teenaged sons, who i'm conviced could eat for england, ordered the fajitas for two, and the portions were so generous that even they struggled to finish!

All in all a great quality, and reasonable restaurant, which i would recommend to any party.

“Service isn't great - but the food is generally worth going for”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

Most of the food is pretty good - although there are some items on the menu which are below what you'd expect of a restaurant specialising in Mexican food (i.e. the fajitas aren't great). We do visit once/twice a month and generally find the service to be lacklustre. Even with several members of staff it seems to take a while for them to take your order, bring the drinks (expect to wait 10 mins+ if you've ordered complicated(?) cocktails), and generally everything takes a bit longer than it should. However, all things being equal, it still is one of the better places to eat in this area of Hove. It can be quite loud if the restaurant is busy, so avoid Friday/Saturday nights if this isn't something you're happy to put up with.

“lunch”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

After reading the reviews, we thought we would try this restaurant, and i left feeling upset and very frustrated. The table was sticky, the waiter was terrible, but the main courses were very nice. Our main courses were very nice, the waiter was mostly sitting down with his laptop or answering the phone!! He didnt notice we had finished our meal for 10 mins, and that was after we started clearing the plates. We ordered desserts, and my daughters sticky toffee pudding was luke warm, so it was sent back, the next toffee pudding was just about warm. I had to shout across the restaurant to get the waiters attention to change the pudding, and half way taking our desert order, he excused himself to answer the phone!! Poor service ruined our lunch. I believe this restaurant is better during the evening, and i wont be going back!!!!

“Dinner at Los Amigos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

Was perusing through the website for reviews and shocked to see negative feedback in respect of Los Amigos.

It is certainly the finest Mexican in Brighton and Hove with a wide variety of authentic food.

The service is always professional and very friendly.
