Just got back from my first visit to Woodies - and I am completely stuffed. The Diner is well thought out with mostly large round tables and lots of authentic Amercian decor. A Beach Boys concert plays in the background while you admire the longboards fixed to the ceiling and then check out the old Jukebox. Three generations of our family went, and we ordered a very broad range of food from the menu: we went for the ham and eggs (disappeared very quickly) chicken and bacon ceasar salad (huge, but she loved it) a king prawn starter (again very nice) a veggie burger topped with veggie chilli (yummy) and a childrens chicken meal (all gone too!)
We managed to force down some enormous ice-creams between us for pudding, but do beware - order something small for your main if you like your puddings - because you won't be able to fit one in otherwise!
Service was friendly and food arrived in a decent amount of time. No-one hovered to take our order or clear our table - but maybe this would have been different if they'd had people waiting.
Anyway - it was much better than sitting in some dreary pub for Sunday lunch - my family will definitely be returning
