“Great value.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

Great value for money given its location. Clean, welcoming and helpful owners, and a lovely cooked breakfast. I stayed in a single room which was, to be fair, very small (the single bed just about fitted along the length of the room, possibly not suitable for those over 6'). However, it had a small basin, a place to hang clothes and was clean and tidy. I've stayed in Brighton on many occasions and this, by far, offers the best value for those on a budget.

Room Tip: Those close to or over 6' should probably avoid the small, single room.

I bought my hubby here for his birthday, 2 yrs ago now, but still rave about ''Brighton'' we would both love to stay at Cross St again.

The owners were very welcoming & Friendly throughout our time here, we had an en-suite double which was very good value for money, the food was lovley & plenty of choice.

The guesthouse is perfect location, very clean, modern feel.

We stayed here in the triple room for 2 nights on the 5th and 6th of October and were extremely pleased with service we got. The guest house was very clean and staff were friendly. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order both mornings and also had a good selection of cereal, fruit, yoghurt and pastries. Our beds were made each day and clean towels left in the room. This guest house was in a brilliant location with the seafront just a minute down the road and the city centre only a 5 minute walk away. I would definitely recommend this guest house to others as was great value for money.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

We stayed here for two nights on the 14th/15th September and had a great stay. The room was homely and clean and even though it was a small double was fairly spacious. We didn't book a room with an ensuite but this was no problem as the bathroom was very close and was very clean and well stocked with toiletries and towels.

Breakfast was great, with a choice of a full english or other varieties of cooked breakfast eg poached/scrambled egg on toast or bacon etc In addition to this is a wide range of cereals and croissants etc. We were always offered tea or coffee on arrival and there is also a selection of juices.

The location of the B&B is great, close to the main shopping street (although it is a 10 minute walk to Churchill Square where the main shops are) and also very close to the sea front (another 10/15 min walk to the pier) The benefits of the B&B being about a 10/15 min walk from the middle of Brighton is that it is very quiet at night, yet you still feel as though you are close to the action.

All in all we really felt that the B&B fully provided the services it claimed to offer and we had an enjoyable stay here, we would definitely book again in the future.

We stayed here on 10th and 11th August. The guest house is very close to the sea front and we couldn't fault it. We had a ground floor room which was spacious and very quiet (amazing on a Friday and Saturday night!). Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. The bed was made each morning and fresh coffee/tea, etc. The staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this guest house. At £95.00 it seemed expensive for a guest house but then it is Brighton in the middle of the summer!

This is a lovely place to stay if you are visiting Brighton. The rooms are lovely and clean and even the small double was spacious. The breakfasts were delicous- providing everything from a full english to a pain au chocolat! The service at the Cross Street Guesthouse was excellent, whether it be regarding places in Brighton or local amenities such as a petrol station. I highly recommend purchasing the temporary parking permit (from the guesthouse) as it is only £5 per day rather than £20 in some of the main car parks. Overall a great stay......

As long as you are not expecting a large chain type hotel then you will love this lovely guesthouse. 2 minutes to the sea at the bottom of the road and even less to a busy high st with shops bars and restaurants at the top of the road. Brighton's Lanes, Pier, Aquarium etc are a 10/15 minute walk away.
The rooms are very clean and comfy even sharing a toilet and shower room was fine as both were always spotless. Breakfast was great and the hosts were helpfull.
Only downside is parking, but we just used the car park 5 min walk away and factored in the £14 per day fee as part of the deal. I would go again no problem.
