“Too many things don't quite work”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

This hotel was disappointing and expensive compared with other local 3* hotels. We spent four nights there and experienced
Lifts not working
Room locks not working
Turkish style toilets
Building debris
Wet carpet in bedroom
The men at Reception were often not very helpful or friendly and smoked under the No Smoking sign.

We stayed one night during our visit to the usual sites in Sanliurfa. Our room was old and would benefit from an upgrade. We also we given a room with a Turkish toilet, which was an experience.

The service and food was average.

The hotel offers free WiFi and is well located to many restaurants, stores, and the tourist locations.

We stayed at this hotel during our 3-days Mt.Nemrut tour. The hotel was nice, clean and with central location. The breakfast was great and the views from our room too. Air-conditioning was working and this is the main thing in the July heat of Eastern-Turkey!
However, the hotel staff did not speak any English and there was a constant mess with the plastic doorkey cards. During our short stay I saw TWICE people entering into wrong room with a wrong card that against all odds managed to open the door!! That system doesn't look safe at all!
Another strange thing was the bathroom light that turned off after one minute of no activity. Moving inside the shower cabin didn't help so you had to step outside and wave your hands in order to get the lights back!
The hotel was decent but I'm sure there are some less bizarre options in Sanliurfa available as well.

The hotel is generally okay, but there are a couple of things which definitely need improvement. Firstly, the light in the bathroom works with a movement sensor, so if you are having a shower, it switches off in about a minute or 2. In order to get it back n, you have to open the shower cabin, go out and wave your hands. The same happens when you are using the toilet.

Secondly, there was something wrong with the electronic door cards, they seemed to open random doors, so anybody could walk into your room while you were sleeping.

The staff was generally friendly and helpful although they didn't always understand us because of their poor English. The breakfast was good, with scrambled eggs, cereals and fruit added to the typical Turkish breakfast.

I stayed here as part of a Mt Nimrut tour. The breakfast is excellent; it's a 20 minute walk to the old town; the bathroom is nice. On the negative side: there is zero English spoken with little effort made to be helpful; the hotel is a modern box without charm. I would not recommend this.

Although the reception staff did not speak English, one of our party was Turkish and he assisted with our request for wifi connection.
The location was very good being not far from the bazaar, citadel and Holy Place. The twin room was comfortable with TV and Ac. It contained armchairs, a small table and was spacious.
The bathroom was of a high standard.
Another of our party was vegetarian and surprisingly the restaurant had difficulty catering. The choice was an omelette or salad.
Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of hot and cold foods.
One of our group decided to meet us later in Goreme and stay two additional days to further explore the town and historic site of Harran and went to a number of nearby hotels to check them out. He returned and said the Kilim was about the same price as others but of a much better standard.
Overall a very comfortable and relatively inexpensive hotel in a friendly town with many attractions.

We arrived in Sanliurfa at night from Istanbul by plane and no hotel booking. So we walked along the main street of Ataturk Avenue.

For the first time in my several trips to Turkey I felt strange in this place, I felt weird, getting a negative vibe of the people. So when I saw the neon sign of Kilim Hotel from the distance on top of a building, we immediately walked our way there. We spoke to the boy - who works there - and he speaks a little English so that would be helpful.

The price was reasonable at TL 70 with breakfast, so we settled for it.

They gave us a room on an upper floor facing the back, good because it’s quiet compared to the rooms facing the main street. Surprisingly clean room though the beds are small, the bathroom is also neat with shampoos and small soaps, hairdryer, clean white towels. TV, aircon, enough space to move, two chairs and tables, windows overlooking some abandoned buildings and the city. The floor has clean red carpet, I stepped on bare feet most of the time.

Lots of hotels are located almost beside each other in this area like Arte Hotel - on the other side of the road, Hotel Guven, Ipek Pasha Hotel, and Harran Hotel.

Breakfast is ok and the breakfast hall is big located on the top floor with a view of the city. Wifi is free.

The location is good about 15 minutes walk to the Cave of Abraham and the pools with thousands of fish.

The staff albeit very limited english are very eager to help, esp. the youngest staff who looks like an underage boy.

This is a good budget option, i recommend it.

Room Tip: The upper floors and the ones at the back side if you're a light sleeper.
