On the highway between the two tourist hotspots of Ayder (Kackar Mountains) and Kars (Ani), this little gem of a property provides an excellent place to eat and rest. The restaurant is reasonably-priced with a posted menu, and serves live trout grilled over charcoal as well as other local specialities. The rooms on the second floor are bright, clean, and comfortable. I especially appreciated that they aren't suffused with cigarette smoke as are many Turkish hotels.
The building is new and well constructed. The property is set in the middle of the Sahara National Park. There aren't many well-posted trails but the mountains are beautiful to look at. There are several villages that can be explored nearby.
