“A Nice Surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

Stayed at this hotel with my family to celebrate a wedding anniversary, and i must admit i did not expect the wonderful accomodation for this region of the netherlands.
The hotel rooms are very nice, but the overall winner is the food. The restaurant is michelin star quality.
Nice location for a quiet weekend getaway!
One down side, during our stay the pool was being fixed and we where unable to swim, which was part of our reason for coming to this hotel as we stayed during the winter months.

Room Tip: Stay for dinner in house, its a real treat!

We came across this hotel when looking for a place to stay near Knokke, what a delightful surprise, in this secluded and remote place, in front of the sea, you can really enjoy the dunes, the sea and the natural reserve, which is just a few minutes away. Perfect for a getaway week-end. The rooms are really nice and large, the Lexington decoration suits this place really well. Unfortunately there is no minibar, which means you have to go to the basement to get a drink or a snack...not so cool when in your pyjamas..
The swimming pool is really nice as well as the other spa amenities. Note that people are naked in the spa, which is common for this country but surprised us coming from France.
Overall a very positive experience and definitely a recommended place to stay

Room Tip: Make sure to ask a room with a seaview, some rooms may have a view on the building opposite which ca...

We stayed for 3 nights in July in Hotel Noordzee. The hotel is right next to the sea and you can walk to the vast beaches of Zeeland in a few minutes.
The Cadzand-Bad town is a few minutes’ walk away where you can rent bicycles, find a supermarket and some restaurants. However the nicest restaurants are at the hotel itself or along the dunes.

We booked one of the suites and it came with a separate bedroom, a sofa bed for our son in the living, a kitchenette and a balcony along the room with views over the dunes and sea. Interior is light and airy, just like the pictures on the website

Upon our arrival we were welcomed by the family and received a beach ball for our son. There were some chocolates in the room to welcome us. All very friendly.

Breakfast is actually amazing: loads of baskets full of different breads and rolls, several plates of cold cuts and cheeses, the Dutch bread toppings of hagelslag and peanut butter, fruits, eggs, sweet pastries, yoghurt, cereals and fruit juices. I could have stayed for breakfast for 3 hours and enjoy all the good stuff

Restaurant is fairly busy at night, certainly outside when the weather is sunny and warm. You sit between the dunes and the grass and there are some loungers and open fires and blankets to keep you warm if the evening turns cooler. Menu was good and starts with some bread on sticks. Coffee comes with some chocolates and cookies. Better to make reservations and show up early since the kitchen closes at 9pm

The pool is inside with glass doors opening to a small terrace. There is a spa/sauna as well but we did not use it as the weather was to good to be true when we were there.

The hotel is located close to Sluis, Brugge, several Michelin starred restaurants, Belgium and nice bicycle routes.

I loved our stay and we will return next year.

Room Tip: Book one of the suites which will give you a spacious room and a good sea view - the balcony is then...

My elder parents invited me there to have lunch. The view is beautiful, the restaurant is located in the middle of the sand dunes, on a nice summer day this seems a great place. I would suggest it only as a bikers or walkers stop though, just to have a cold on their terrace.
We were not allowed to park on their private hotel parking, although it was half empty at that time, and my mother is physically challenged. When we complained at the reception about this they were not friendly at all.
The restaurant only had 3 tables occupied, You would think they could make a decent meal in 2 hours, it actually took us 3 hours to get out, and that's because we were pushing them at the end. We had very mediocre shrimp croquettes for starters, certainly industrial frozen food ad not home made, then a lamb tournedos overcooked, with a cold pepperade sauce out of a can , and served with pesto linguini. For dessert their famous " appelbol" , an ovenbaked apple in puff pastry, The apple was undercooked.
Overall service was very slow , made mistakes, and we will certainly not go back.

Our five-day stay at the Noordzee Hotel last week was most enjoyable. We came for some sea air and a rest, and found much more. Our 3rd-floor room was attractively furnished, and practical, and had a terrace with a view over the dunes and the sea (and a bit of car-park), from the side.

We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, and the flexible hours. Each evening we dined at the hotel, à la carte, and nearly everything was interesting and to our taste. The breakfast, restaurant and reception staff were also very kind and pleasant.

My only gripe is that the bed rather too soft and bouncy, the pillows too solid, and the duvet too heavy for the summer season, and I therefore didn't sleep too well. (I'm sure I could have asked for a change, but kept hoping I would get used to it ...!) My husband, on the other hand, slept quite well.

We enjoyed walks and bike rides along the beach and on the dunes paths, and visiting local history sites (e.g. Breskens Fishing Museum, and the old church in Cadzand Dorp). The area is relatively unspoilt, and is really worth a visit.

Just a nice a place ! From welcome desk to the breakfast, from the room to the small spa. The "noordzee" stay one of the nicest place to stay on this part of the coast. I had been there for many stays, with friends, with my wife or alone and got good rest, food, geauty and attention.
