“relaxed, spacious, friendly and rents out bikes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

A quick choice from a booking site led to a lovely, relaxed weekend. The hotel has a centric location in Hengelo, near shops and restaurants and close to the station, and the rooms are spacious. The bathroom had a bathtub and a shower and still a lot of free room in the middle, big and comfortable. The bed could have been a bit better, and the pillows deserve an upgrade. However, the decor was pleasant, with warm colours, not the boring hotel beige you can someties see.
Bikes were available for 8.50 per day and they were good, sturdy but light, reliable bikes, we made a tour of about 40-50 kms, via Enschede through the German border and back.
Staff are easy-going, very friendly and helpful, in a no-nonsense way. There is a parking place just opposite and it costs 13 EUR per night, but staff will be pleased to advise you where to go for free parking (not too far, actually, just cross under the train lane.
All in all: the hotel contributed to a very enjoyable weekend in Twente, recommended.

Very clean, large rooms. Comfortable bed. Ironing board and iron available on each floor. Good choice for breakfast. Excellent location in centre with access to many restaurants. Some parking outside and a multistory car park opposite costing 14euros for overnight.

We stopped here on our way to Berlin, and was most impressed by this hotel. Service was very good, check in very quick. The restaurant was good, and food first class. We had a studio room 510 and it was massive. Had everything you needed for an overnight stay.
Only a couple of things let it down and that was no mini bar or air conditioning. It was warm the night we got there, but must be unbearable in the middle of summer.
Very good value.

I needed a place to stay to attend the Hertme music festival and picked this hotel because it was by the station in Hengelo.

The staff were friendly, the room was clean and nicely furnished and the station and parking are just next door.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

Stayed for business for 2 nights in June 2013. All areas clean and tidy. Beds a bit hard but fine. Main problem was the temperature - it was 28 degs on the day I arrived (unseasonal i'm told) and there is no air-con control from the rooms - it took about an hour for me too cool down enough to sleep. The windows have the usual 2 inch opening which doesn't do much. Bathroom was a good size - bigger than usual. No mini-bar, fridge or bottled water in the rooms - machines on the 2nd and 4th landings - maybe this is normal in the Netherlands but you should get a fridge with some water really.
Breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice and restocked regularly. I didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on evening food.
Hotel is very close to train station so no need for a taxi, also close to the main town square where there seemed to be lots of restaurants with outdoor areas.

Very clean, with confortble bed king size. Parking just in front of the hotel, not for free but at least you have one (13,5 bucks for 24hours). Breakfast buffet fair enough with a very good coffee machine where you can have a cappucino! The city center is very close with some nice restaurants nearby.

Room Tip: I was on the fifth floor, with large windows and large room in the corner very quiet

Nice Hotel. Parking is in the parkinghouse other side of the street. Ok standard breakfast, pleasent employees. Lots of shopping and restaurants in the near. If you are taking the flight and rental, I would prefer Düsseldorf next time because the traffic from Shiphool Amsterdam is terrible.
