“Lovely caravan park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

We didn't use the hotel but brought our own caravan. The pitches are a good size, the ones that we chose had water, electricity and TV hook up.
The caravans are set around the outside of the area with a small children's play area in the centre. The park is very good for those with children, as there are lots of activities for them. Many of the signs were in either Dutch or German, which was difficult for us to understand but the staff are very friendly and speak English, so it never became an issue.
I would recommend it to people with children, we used it as a base to travel around the island.

Within minutes of arriving on site we had all our cash stolen and the manager tell us he could see no crime.

We locked our cash in a locker and went swimming. We were only away 20 mins and when we got back the locker was open and the cash gone. Crime can happen anywhere but when the manager of the facility then says he won't help you contact the police because he doesn't believe any crime has happened, you have to question what kind of place you are staying in.

The manager saw no indication his locker was faulty or could have been broken into. He asked us to tell him what we believed could have happened. We are no experts on how thieves break into lockers. He suggested we left the locker open. We did in fact spend some time ensuring the locker was locked, after searching for the right money to lock it and it would have been hard to remove the key if it had not been locked.

We won't be coming back.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2010

We booked this as a last minute weekend break to relax and spend some quality time together as a family, and we were not disappointed. We rented a chalet for 4 people and there were 3 of us (2 adults and a toddler). It was a nice size, very clean, modern and good facilities. The only things I would point out are - it stated fully equipped kitchen, but there is no oven, only a microwave (there is a hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle, coffee maker) and you need to bring your own towels and all toiletories including handsoap. Also as the site is mainly occupied by Dutch and German visitors all printed information is in these languages only, although I believe some of the staff also speak English, and they are very friendly and helpful.

The site has excellent facilities - indoor and outdoor pool, cinema, plenty of play parks for kids, large indoor soft play area, kiddie farm, cycle hire, horse riding, shop, lauderette, golf course, close to the beach, campsite with great facilities from what I saw, plenty of restaurants, bars and much more.

I think the only downside to the chalets was the fact that they didn't have any fencing around them - just lots of bushes dotted here and there. This made it impossible to leave the door open and let our toddler play outside as it was impossible to keep an eye on him and also he could easily run onto the roads through the site. That was a pity as, even in October, the weather was lovely and patio furniture is provided - we just couldn't take advantage of this.

Overall though, we had a fantastic time and we are definitely planning on going back next year in the spring before the site gets too busy (it was nice and quiet in October - not sure I would be so keen peak season!). Next time we will stay longer though - 2 nights were not long enough!

The park's location is on the quieter side of the island with very picturesque landscapes and lovely beaches. We stayed in one of the bungalows which was fine. Recent renovations means key things like bathrooms have been modernized and overall was clean. Bungalows are packed fairly densely but as we stayed in late Aug the park was quieter. Had enough activities to keep entertained with indoor pool key for the rainy day but the highlight of our trip was definitely the cycle hire: like the rest of holland the island is fairly flat with great cycle tracks which allows to see more of the island and get the kids to enjoy cycling outdoors in a safe environ (we're from London!).

Overall would recommend as a value resort for a family with young kids.
