“Hotel in Holland only a few steps from the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

we had 3 rooms on the 3d floor 10, 11 and 12, all of them had ocean view.
They have a nice indoor playground for little ones. Big rooms!
Disadvantage is: there is only one lift. It takes often time to get hold of it.

Hotel was less good than expected. Rooms need to be redone - old carpet on the floor and atmosphere not cosy. However the location at the beautiful beach compensates for it.
It was the first breakfast in a hotel we did not eat - even the scrumbled eggs tasted weird. Had breakfast outside, there are lots of lovely places.

More than 200 colleagues assembled in this hotel for Company Meeting 2013. Located close to the North Sea. Hotel with huge capacity and many facilities. Tastefully decorated with painting of great masters like Van Gogh and Claude Monnet. Efficient Front office. Big Rooms! Elaborate buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Beautiful arrangements for Conferences. Had guided cycling trips. Saw fields full of blooming tulips and lavenders. All of us enjoyed our stay in this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms at higher floors give unhindered view

Spent two nights here whilst cycling in Holland and it served our purposes well. It is big affair with plenty of features within the hotel itself which we did not ourselves use. The room was large with a decent bathroom and whilst not particularly new it clean and well maintained. Breakfast was a real highlight - good cooked options, nice breads, fruits and the usual European breakfast fare.

It is located right in the heart of Egmond with the beach and the town's restaurant area a very short walk away

Spent a week here on a conference of 160 people. The hotel staff were very friendly and efficient. Conference facilities were good and the food ok. The menu of lunch and dinner did not have enough variety through the week, however. The rooms were quite large with reasonable facilities but no tea kettle. The hotel is close to the beach and to the centre of this small town, but even though it was end of May, the weather did not invite to beach life (not the hotel's fault, of course).
You need to be ready to walk long distances between rooms, restaurants and conference halls as this hotel is large. Some staff are using small motorised vehicles to move from one end to the other. A nice feature is a bowling alley. And watch out if going to the sauna - it is men and women together, and strictly no clothes allowed. For international conferences, this hotel is further from the airport than you would like.

Other reviews call this hotel huge, maybe that doesn't do it justice. I have been to international airports smaller than this hotel. There is a whole complex of rooms underground with childrens soft play areas, squash courts, bowling alleys, pubs, bars, cafe's and the canteen. To walk from my room to the reception was around 10 minutes.

Bigger isn't always better and the hotel has certainly seen better days. My room was dated but ok and at least had a sea view (which was amazing). The canteen is horrible. Mass produced rubbish which you serve yourself. Frankly this is suited to conferences, I would not go here for romantic weekends or kids breaks.

One good point, the beach is literally 50m from the back door and is stunning but i simply wouldn't come here without a business meeting to attend.

Enjoyed our stay ,but very strange layout of the hotel. Very confusing...
To the swimming pool via restaurant , all clearly marked , but just strange...
Huge hotel with three blocks, room spacious enough, but time for updating....
