“More than a golf resort!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

The 3 room apartment suites consisting of a kitchen, living room and bedroom are absolutely the best for vacation or business. The staff is attentive to all your needs. The food is far above the normal restaurant fare. Ask for a room facing the golf course and sit on your balcony and watch the sun set in this beautiful setting in the Netherlands!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the golf course!

“Big rooms but in desperate need of refurbishment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2010

We stayed for 6 nights during our move from the UK to The Netherlands.

We chose this hotel because it offered an apartment style place to stay. With a young baby it was important to us to have use of a kitchen and a separate bedroom and living room. in this regards this hotel was exactly what we wanted. However...

Its location is in the countryside surrounded by a golf course. It is not really a hotel, more a golf club that has apartments. Handy for being close to Brunssum and JFC HQ, both are within walking distance.

The room was big. Large living room with kitchen facility in the corner. There was a fridge but it was barely working (we reported it and nothing happened). Additionally there was a 4 hob cooker, a dishwasher and a sink. No cutlery or plates or pans are provided. No microwave nor kettle could be provided by the hotel. To be honest the kitchen is a bit of a waste of space.

The living room is large with a nice balcony either looking out on to the putting green or the pond. Small CRT TV with limited channels. A sofa and chair, plus table and 4 chairs are provided. Everything is very dated in a kinda 1980s style. I doubt it has been renovated since it opened in 1985! Carpet has numerous large stains.

Bathroom was excellent. 2 sinks with lovely bath and a powerful v hot shower. Toilet was separate in its own room.

Bedroom was average. Beds were very comfortable but if you are a couple be warned that they are two singles pushed together and each gets a single duvet. There was a good air conditioning unit in our room but it was very very noisy, however it was great and getting the room cool.

Some of the staff were excellent, very helpful and spoke excellent english. Some however couldn't careless! They provided us a good cot and had a baby high chair for use at breakfast.

Parking is directly opposite the hotel and you have to cross the road to reach reception. There is no pedestrian crossing which I think is a serious omission.

Breakfast was good, your standard continental but we both enjoyed it and thought it was pretty good in comparison with other hotels we've stayed in.

Pretty good wireless internet is available for around 20 euros for 24hrs or 40 euros for 7 days.

There is no restaurant as such, just a bar that serves food. We ate there once and it was ok. We ate out for the rest of our stay.

No gym or pool, however there is excellent running and cycling at the nearby park.

Overall I would find it hard to recommend this place to stay. If you like golf and want to play on the excellent golf course here and you plan to eat out, then consider it. If you want something else then stay elsewhere. We would not stay here again.

“Focus on golf-oriented clientele, with decent dining, bar and conference support"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2010

A group of us were staying here for a 2-day conference. Obviously focused on golf clientele, which is fine. Basically a golf course/club house with a number of kitchen/apartments attached. Conference facility was adequate, with friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Meals and amenities were about what one would expect for off-season stay. Golf shop staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Conference facility was average-good; ticked all the basic boxes. Facility was in the middle of nowhere, so a car is necessary if one needs to head into Brunssum for dinner or an escape. Kitchen is well-prepped for meal set up, provided adequate notice is provided, otherwise you are on your own for dinner arrangements. Apartment-hotel style room is basic, comfortable, clean and quiet, with many rooms overlooking the course. Kind of dormitory style, but comfortable enough to get it done. No extras in the kitchen, though, if you are expecting to stay a few days (i.e. no dishes, utensils, pots and pans, etc). Perhaps that is something that can be arranged in advance (i.e. tournaments), as we were only staying for 2 nights. If you are not heading out, then you can at least console yourself with decent choices for television viewing (more English channel selections than I would have thought, but given the large American, Canadian and British military presence in the area, well understood). All in all, pretty good value.

“Big rooms, clean, nice breakfast, nice bar, but rude staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2008

This was the most recent of my several stays at this hotel, but I've never written a review before. It is primarily a hotel for those who play the golf courses adjacent, but is open to everyone. The rooms are quite large, all suites, most with big balconies. They have kitchens, but I think the management only turns on the appliances for longer-term stays. The hotel is air conditioned, but you pay for the air conditioning by renting the remote control from the front desk!

The breakfast is great, lots of choice, whether you like American or European style breakfasts. I haven't eaten in the restaurant, but the bar is pretty nice, but not too fancy as it fills up with golfers talking about their rounds that day.

The only drawback to the hotel is the staff which is rather brusque, bordering on rude, but that is the case in many hotels in the Netherlands, so not totally unexpected.

I would stay here again, as it is comfortable and convenient.

“Comfortable and convenient”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2008

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times and it has always been excellent. The rooms are all suites with bedroom, Bathroom, seperate toilet and a lounge with small kitchen and complimentary soft drinks and water in the fridge.
There is a hot breakfast available though it is quite american in its make-up (very crispy bacon etc). The continental breakfast is also good.
Dinner in the evening is again very good with a wide choice of both snacks and full dinner menus
