Been back a few weeks now and really missing the albir playa. I usually stay in the old town of benidorm but after visiting albir on our previous holiday we thought we stay there this time and the albir playa seemed like an obvious choice for us. We traveled as a family with my 4 yr old daughter and mum and grandparents, 4 generations. Everyone loved the hotel though some of the family didn't always enjoy the food, I found it nice and better than a lot of buffet style hotels. If meals aren't included they have a poolside restaurant which had a lovely looking menu. That was the only negative and a small one.

Now the many positives. For us a huge plus was the kids entertainment, its the first time our daughter has been happy staying in the kids club and this was down to the staff. I hope the manager reads this and can tell Freddy how much we appreciated how comfortable he made our daughter feel, the guy is a natural and seemed to love his job. Our daughter is called Mia, from northern ireland and he said she looked like the Olson twins. If you could pass on our thanks that would be great. Mia had planned to get him a card and thank you present but he sadly wasn't working our last two days there. All the staff deserve praise and we we made to feel welcome and appreciated. The bar staff were brilliant, friendly and always had a chat.
The hotel itself was modern and an attractive place to relax. When by the pool or having a drink you are surrounded by greenery with no ugly high rise hotels ruining the view. It's also very quiet which was exactly what we needed as a big part of our holiday was relaxing.
The rooms were clean and off a good size, picturesque views of the mountains.
We went AI as we heard branded drinks were included and they were. Not that we are big drinkers but it was nice to have a selection of drinks and cocktails throughout the day and to relax at night before bed. As some relatives are older and not really up for walking far at night we finished most nights in the hotel. Also having a 4 yr old we weren't going to be going out late at night. There is a number of bars and restaurants close but though and you can get bus or taxi into benidorm if you want a lively night out.
The spa was a nice surprise and a lovely relaxing way to spend an hour.

I would definitely go back as I loved the hotel and area.

Thank you albir playa for a great holiday experience

Nik

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights from 24th June on b&b basis. Loved it. Hotel and rooms spotless. Breakfast great and pool and gardens beautiful . Didnt take our kids but the entertainment there was fantastic for them. Lovely beach and beach front bars but also only 1.50 euros on bus to Benidorm (25 mins) and only 11 euros taxi back. Will definitely be returning . Janine and Brian -wolves

coming to the end of our 8 night stay at the albir hotel, which in our opinion is a fantastic resort with plenty to do. It is very clean lovely rooms and service is great, the staff are at hand round the clock very friendly and helpfull as I am vegetarian the food is limited but for meat eaters there is a wide choice. If your a party animal then this resort may not be your ideal location. Really enjoyed our stay and were looking forward to booking in the near future.

Just returned. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It was spotless , rooms were excellent and made up everyday of our stay.
Food was good and staff very friendly .
My only minus point was the toaster at breafast which really is not much in the great scheme of things !!!

Just returned from a week at this establishment(20/6) To start, the hotel is ok, I wouldn't rate it **** more like 3 at best.
Food was adequate, no better, choice appeared to focus around chicken and fish - entrecote (sirloin), single loin chops were available to order at grill, though be aware these were like something bough from Lidl which brings me to another point, Lidl is literally next door where a bottle of white wine can be picked up for e1.95, also within easy walking distance are numerous supermarkets and McDonalds - plenty of easy access shops if you go B+B. To purchase breakfast costs e12, evening meal e18 - bordering on rip off imo.

Resturant staff were in general very poor english speakers, reception was ok.

Place was clean enough as others have pointed out, and beds were a bit on the hard side.

We discovered on arrival the pool area was out of bounds and had been cordoned off for a private function, two more followed including a wedding, reception informed us that this was normal and communicated to travel companies - that may be so however no one warned us and others we spoke to were also unaware.

Bit of a walk if you want to saunter to the beach - 15min. Hotel has a mini-bus to take guests to beach but we never saw anyone use it. Beach is a pebble beach if this helps anyone.

Wander away from the hotels and English is not so widely spoken, we had a car with us and found verbal communication could be difficult - traffic cop spoke no English (needed slight direction for parking), road toll (thats another story) attendants, spoke no English. All signage and instruction are in Spanish - taking account of the amount of foreign travellers, that was very poor.

Oh, to park in the hotel car park you are charged e10 per night....another rip off (plenty parking around).

As a possible alternative, we spent a nice afternoon in the hotel Kaktus. Situated on the beach. Most clients appeared to be on a Saga holiday.

Room Tip: Fron rooms look onto road/ Lidl, rear look onto pool - may be ongoing noise at night.
