“Good location, but a building that has some flaws”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

Overall I'm satisfied with our stay at this hotel, the staff were friendly and considerate and the food was quite good in the restaurant.

However the main thing that I want to mention is that the building has poor sound isolation, so when you are in the bathroom you can hear EVERYTHING, it's like sharing the room with your neighbour.

Also, some rooms have only a door between it and the next room and therefore you hear a lot of what is going on in the next room. Can be quite annoying depending on your neighbour.

If this is the best hotel at this price in Guardamar, then I don't want to travel to other hotels in this area.

Room Tip: Seaview is a must

This is a very nice and cosy hotel on the beach some 10-15 walk from the Guardamar centre in a quiet residential area. Wonderful view to the open sea from the balcony. Guardamar has a wonderful, very long sandy beach. If you want to get around, rent a car. They have their own car parking. The breakfast was ok. The hotel has, in comparison to the hotels in the region, very good standard.

A very friendly hotel which is presumably a family business. It's a bit of a trek to the town and restaurants, but once you discover the bus (it took us several days) it makes it easier. A beautiful beach one minute away and the noise of the waves through the open window is great. Breakfast is adequate but a bit basic and repetitive. It was advertised with a pool but sadly it wasn't finished - they were tiling it when we were there. It is small but should be a very welcome addition to what is a very nice hotel.

We stayed one night on half board basis. The hotel is about one kilometre south of the town in a residential area with little to say for itself although well placed for the fine seafront. Our room faced east which made for a spectacular dawn after a good night's rest. (You need to be careful when wandering around the hotel as its abundance of glass and mirrors can confuse, even before the drinking has started. Indeed I walloped my head on the shower glass attempting to look out of the window.)

The restaurant was described in the lift thus: "We invite you to enoy our cuisine based in the Mediterranean culture, melting the coastal tradition and the creativity of the new tendency. The ideal place to taste any act in something unforgettable." Dinner was indeed a curious event with service that would have been better suited to a transport cafe (although not without a smile). The first and second courses were particularly good, although being served a seafront style wrapped ice cream for dessert seemed incongruous with the standard of the earlier courses (although somehow complementing the service). If this hotel wants its restaurant to be taken seriously (as it clearly does), attention to service is sorely needed.

All that apart, this was a pleasant stayover. The resort is really nothing special and unless you're craving the coast, I would direct you back to Elx (or Elche).

Hotel recommended, if only just!

The location is excellent, just across from the beach and an enjoyable 15 minute walk into town. The room was very clean and the staff pleasant.

There were just two improvements we would like to see.

One, at breakfast it was sometimes difficult to find a place to sit as dishes had not been cleared (we did in fact see some guests moving them themselves). If a member of staff could be stationed in the breakfast area all the time, and not share duties with the front desk, this situation could be monitored, and the replenishment of food and utensils also maintained.

Two, the poor lighting on the first floor stairs made it difficult to use the stairs confidently.

Have just stayed at this hotel for three nights. The thing that let's it down is the appalling breakfasts! Breakfasts are meant to be served until 10am; we arrived at 9.15am to find a nearly empty buffet. When we quizzed the staff about this, the response was we should of arrived earlier - not very helpful. The rooms were very clean and fresh.Air conditioning was useless.

Room Tip: Try to stay to either the side or back of the hotel as the sea can be noisy.

Spent five days at the end of September on half board option. Very relaxing stay in a very clean and orderly hotel. We enjoyed the dinners and the waiter service as compared to the standard buffets which are the norm today. The dinners were varied with a choice of three options for every course, some lovely soups and puddings and all well presented. Free wifi is available as well as BBC and ITV on the TV in the room. Comfortable room which was well cleaned and a nice terrace to have breakfast overlooking the mediterranean. Lovely beach and overall the perfect place for a relaxing break.
