“Basic Hotel, OK for a day or so.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here earlier this week, August 2013, was booked for 5 days stayed only one and changed to another Hotel, partly my fault did not realises there was no pool, so moved to a hotel with pool. the Hotel is clean and rooms are OK, the breakfast was poor, quite low quality produce. It is a very good location to explore Guardamar and access the beach which is two minutes walk away.

To me the Parquemar does what it says on the tin. It is next to the beautiful Guardamar park and close to the sea. Just off the main road so no traffic passing. Pleassant staff, large rooms, great breakfasts.

This was booked last minute just for 1 night additional accomodation ,on a bed only basis. The hotel was well located, within sight of the beautiful beaches at Guardamar, and within easy walking distance of the town centre. Parking was available outside the hotel in the street, but there was also an underground carpark for the hotel, at a charge of approx 5 euros per night.
The room was light and bright, with a well fitted, modern bathroom and a balcony, which unfortunately did not have an attractive outlook (area of waste land and rear of some flats) but did provide welcome outside space.
We did not take advantage of the large restaurant or other facilities as we used this hotel for bed only.

A good value hotel near the beach. More like 3 star than 4 star but has everything needed at a reasonable price. Rooms were clean. Staff cleaning rooms were very pleasant.Car parking is limited. You drive the car into a lift and are taken down two floors. Bit unusual but easy to use. Costs over 5 euros per day to use car park. Free wifi in hotel. We booked room only. Would recommend. Plan to return next year.

Room Tip: book car park if July or Aug. Street parking should be ok outside peak times.

I have stayed in better 2 star hotels. I stayed here Aug 8th to 11th. The uneven tiles around the bath were added to cover up gaps and most of the dirty grout was missing; there were no tea/coffee facilities in the room; the air-con was useless and there are no ceiling fans; there was no plug for the wash bowl, the bath plug got stuck so the bath didn't empty; the shower fitting was loose; the towels were thin, rough and cheap; the fried eggs were cold at breakfast and the bacon was half cooked and cold floating in oil; the sarrano ham was tough. At most there were 5 other guests for breakfast!! and this in the busy season...word has obviously spread about this horrible hotel. I asked twice at reception for the tv remote...still waiting; the inside steps to the underground car park from reception were unlit on a couple of ocassions, total darkness had to grope along the wall; the car park is very small, dirty and the few bays are difficult to park into, no number is given so its first come first served, great difficulty turning into the car park elevator due to illegally parked cars on the main street, had to make lots of 3 point turns thus holding up other passing traffic for 5 minutes or more. Complained to hotel staff who shrugged their shoulders! There is no MENU per se. They post the sheet on the notice board at 17.00 hrs with the evenings few choices. I asked to see the evening menu at breakfast that same day, reply "no is not possible!" The staff do not have a uniform or name badges like 4 star hotels do....as I said this is NOT a 4 star and would have difficulty in qualifying as a 2 star.......never again will I stay here !...ruined my time in the town..I shall not return!

Room Tip: Don't bother

We found this litle gem having arrived the day before for our stay in Algorfa in a flat. The flat turned out to be in a Brits abroad compond and not really to our taste, it had been an impulse bid on Children in Need and only cost £140! The 4 of us decided to spend the next day looking for a hotel, and how lucky we were. First of all Guadarmar is a very pleasant former fishing town, touristy but not too spoilt with very nice sandy beaches (could do with cleaning up the fag ends, or even selfish smokers not leaving them!). We approached several hotels but the Parque Mar was very reasonably priced for half board and the rooms spacious, clean, tidy and with all the neccessary facilities required (including balcony). It was towards the end of their busy season so nice and quiet, it is two minutes walk from the beach and we loved it. There was no entertainment but lots of nice walks including the park, shops, bars and restaurants by the dozen. Staff were friendly and helpful but spoke only a little English so a phrasebook is handy. We plan to return next year!

Room Tip: Our room had the bed upstairs which was very nice, no spectacular views as far as I know but some ni...

Very good in all respects and very reasonably priced, though the 4 star rating seems a bit high. When I arrived the room fridge did not work but they fixed it immediately. Room comfortable and air conditioned. Front desk staff helpful, 24 hr service. Buffet dinner was particularly excellent value at 12 euros, with good choice and lots of vegetables, something one does not find so often in hotels in Spain. Breakfast seemed pricey and I did not take it, but I had to go out very early each day. I would definitely go there again and recommend it to anyone.

They have pay parking but it is also possible to park inthe street outside, although it can be a bit pot-luck. However I was fortunate to get convenient parking. It is a busy area. No free WiFi available, something that all hotels should provide these days. They want a deposit to get a TV remote control at the front desk, most unusual. I didn't bother.
