this hotel is is isolated in a residential area with no other shops or bars within walking distance.it has a beach front setting with 3-4 kilometers of bush and scrubland on either side.there is a bus to gaudamar with connections to torrevejece & alicante, the hotel & room were clean but very 1970s,the cooked food was very poor quality and always cold so we mainly had salads, the entertainment was non exsistant (this was first week in march )they do an all inclusive weekend & when we arrived 100s of people with children were trying to book in,the restraunt that week end look like a food court in any busy shopping mall ,with people queuing up the steps trying to get in,then we we had to queue to get served at the bar where local spanish took preferance, after the weekenders had left the majority of the guests were spanish pensioners who seemed to play cards all day & night until 10 o clock when a girl put on cds and there was ballroom dancing(9 out of ten cds in spanish ).on thursday the pensioners put on a show of comic dances, told jokes, monologues, again all in spanish.we caught the bus into town daily to break up the monotony and get a hot meal, the weather was cold & there was a sand storm(cant blame them for that !)anti bacterial wash was compulsory on entering the dinning room! makes you wonder why!the staff went about their work without a smile or a greeting, english is spoken at reception.thankfully after 7 days we returned home.to sum up,this hotel is mainly for spanish people or speakers, does not know how to cater for other nationalities(there were french, danish ,welsh, scottish & german people staying there)if i had known we would have canceled and lost our money rather than spend the 7 days we had there,

The first comment is that this is about 17 miles from the airport, so watch out for transfer costs of £150 return! (It's True!) Order a car, I did.
Rooms fine, but when told that you will be in a quiet part, expect a family of 4 to move in(127). Rooms have sea views, and it's a lovely spot.
Our main criticism must be the food. Don't get me wrong, there was plenty of it, and the salad was excellent. The hot dishes were not, and the word that describes it is 'bland'. The meats and fish were over-cooked and dry, and frankly tasteless.
For the sake of a sauce (Espanole), the food was not enjoyable.
I did look at my bill and realised that for under £150 I was in a double for 3 nights, 2 people, food, a carafe of wine and water thrown in. How do they do it? Charge more and pay the chef a bit more!

We stayed here on an all inclusive basis, and reading reviews were worried, on arriving the staff were friendly, but with limited English, and most signs are in spanish but i think it caters for a lot of spanish visitors, locatipon is good right on the beach and the indoor pool was good, this was reguarly checked by staff to see the temp was correct, the food was good really, even though was a buffet style, was a lot of choice, even so the chips at breakfast had me a little confused!!!!! the room we had was a superior, with twin sinks, jacuzzi bath and fab sea views we upgraded this as the quad room we booked was small and had 2 double beds literally next to each other.... so please note this if you do book... on the whole a good holiday and a pleasant place to stay

  • Liked — fab sea views
  • Disliked — not a lot for teenager kids to do

we have just returned from our holiday at the hotel campomar. the hotel itself is very large and clean. our room was basic but comfortable and clean with a balcony. tv has 2 british channels which was useful to catch at the end of the day.very thin walls so you can hear tv next door though!
indoor pool was fine, jacuzzi was dirty. outside pool was cleaned but freezing. we found the staff to be very helpful and never found them rude or abrupt. we were all inclusive and found the breakfast and evening meals to be hot and adequate. ok they were very spanish dishes but then we were in spain. there was lots of choice so always found something to eat.
we hired a car so travelled around during the day, without this im sure we would have been frustrated as the hotel is on its own 20 mins from the town centre. we did find the hotel too quiet and they only had table tennis to do with the kids in the evening. plus there were no other kids around! we were told it was end of season for the costa blanca so expected it to be quiet but maybe not that quiet. so im thinking its lovely september when things are still open. on the whole we got what we paid for which was 1 week all inclusive in a 3 star hotel in spain quite reasonable, compared to other hotel prices in that area.

  • Liked — lovely bathroom, great scenery.
  • Disliked — middle of no-where, too quiet.

Well where do we start??? Myself, my girlfriend and her parents came to this hotel for just one week and the first two days were enough! We want to warn none Spanish people not to come here as it is literally only catered for the locals. The Spanish government pay for the Spanish pensioners to come here from September to May. The hotel itself is a very nice, clean large complex which leads straight onto a fantastic soft sandy beach. The cleaners did a very good job every day. These are the only good points we can say about this hotel.
The food is the same every day and three times a day. It is mostly labelled but only in Spanish so we didnt have a clue what was on offter most of the time. Whatever time you came to the canteen for your meals they were luke warm or even cold. All the food was drizzled in grease or olive oil. The canteen staff were not helpful at all and they could not speak any English, this goes for the rest of the hotel staff too which we found very difficult when we needed help or advice in any way.
On booking this holiday we were told there were a gymnasium, sauna and indoor swimming pool we could use but after a few days we found that we had to book these in advance and they could only be used in certain hours and we actually never even saw a gymnasium!!!
The entertainment was none existant til the week end when the Spanish people arrived for a couple of days and it was only bingo (spoken in Spanish) and ballroom dancing.
The bar shuts at midnight every day of the week and there is litterally no music played in the background while your having a drink. One night at 10pm I asked a bartender could we have some music played quietly and the only response I recieved was "NO NO NO" very abruptly! The bar staff were very rude to the point of ignorant and made us feel like we were not welcome and nearly every time we went to the bar for a round of drinks the staff would 'tut' and 'huff' and throw dirty looks at us! We were all inclusive for gods sake!
When we felt the urge to explore outside the hotel (which was after an hour) we got the bus which turns up on the hour every hour outside the main entrance going into Guardamar. We found this quite demoralising as apart from the beach at Guardamar which was busy, the town itself was all virtually closed for the winter!
All in all we all just felt like we couldnt escape from the boredom of this hotel. It was one of the longest weeks we have ever had abroad. There was absolutely nothing to do to keep us occupied as the hotel staff did nothing to help us enjoy our stay here. Its acutally a shame we cant upload a video we made of the bar area at 8pm, every single chair was empty and no music playing. We felt like we were not welcome at all. If the weather wasnt in the mid 20's then I am sure we would of all paid for an earlier flight back to the UK. We actually nicknamed this hotel 'HOTEL CRAPOMAR'!!!
Please save your money and do not come here!
