We came agross El Refugi when visiting the Romanya Church at Santa Cristina d'Aro. The menu del dia was listed as €19 - and what a feast we had for that price. Seated in what might be described as a conservatory with nicely taid tables and fresh flowers the vibes were immediately good. We ordered salmon (Gravlax) as a started, lamb shank and then creme brulee. We were presented with Cava with redcurrants as an aperitif, followed by a mushroom dish - again as a taster and on the house. The Gravlax was the best we have tasted and was an extremely generous helping. The lamb was delicious. Deserts were good and the wine (part of the meal) was excellent quality. We were given a liquor at the end of the meal. The service was first class and all the staff were friendly. Evidently this restaurant has just opened after a change of ownership - give it a try - you will not be disappointed!!
