Just back from 3 days at Hotel costa Brava: has a fantastic location on a granite cliff with stairs down to the beach. We found all the staff very helpful and pleasant. Our room was very clean and was cleaned every day,.Now the bad things: The food was a disaster, lunch and dinner was the same menu not much choice on the menu and very little food on the plate. For eating you should definitely not go.to hotel costa brava …., no in-room wifi??. but for evening we found a bar about a hundred meters away the B & M bar with good drinks. it's worth to try and to go there. not expensive and very good service . nice people….!!

I recently attended a conference at this hotel. The service offered by the hotel and all that was included in our package was excellent! We had meetings in a type of "sunroom" off of the main lobby. Totally surrounded by windows looking out over the water. Who can concentrate on the speaker with such wonderful scenery?! The food was fabulous. Four choices each day, which included fresh fish and other deliciously prepared dishes. I'm not a fan of buffets, so I appreciate the individual attention given us by the waiters who served our meals each day. It's 90 minutes from Barcelona, but I loved the quiet, the scenery and the fact that a trip to Barcelona was doable.

Room Tip: There are a few rooms at the back of the building which do not have an ocean view and rooms on the b...

Hotel costa Brava has a fantastic location on a granite cliff with stairs down to the beach. The hotel is different from others on the "real" Platja.
We stayed one night in the hotel when hiking Costa Brava in Octobre, and enjoyed it. Rooms were clean and absolutely without traffic noise. Breakfast was very good, and the staff was nice and helpful.

This hotel is quite possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, the only saving grace being its location. We were a family of 6 staying in 2 rooms. If you have read the website you would believe you were going to a very nice hotel, with all rooms being described as spacious and with decor that reflects the magnificent surrounding areas, this i should think could only be achieved if you stayed in the honeymoon suite.
Our room was pokey and old fashioned and more than a little dirty and my sisters room did not have a door on the shower! We stayed for 2 nights and had it been any longer I would have checked out and looked for another room elsewhere. Both nights had private functions on so we could not go in the bar area or the terrace overlooking the sea and we were sat in a small side room for dinner (we were half board) and had one waitress between all of us who were not included in the wedding party. The food was also a disaster, they described a slice of a rib of beef that had been fried as a t-bone steak! Tough as old boots! Pate that looked like pedigree chum!
All in all a dreadful hotel and one that I would not wish on my worst enemy!

My main reason for writing this review is that I could only find one in english in TRIPADVISOR for this hotel when we were thinking of going, which surprised me, especially after staying there for a week. It does not appear to be used much by Irish or english people. Sandra, at reception, was pleasatly surprised to find out we were Irish and twelve of us (golfers) stayed here in April to play 5 top class golf courses in area. I think people should know about it so I hope this review helps.
We booked the hotel directly, following a recommendation from a friend in Ireland who had stayed there with a group on a couple of occasions and he highly recommended it. We were not disapointed. The staff in the hotel were very helpful and efficient when we were booking, which we did directly with the hotel, especially Sandra and Monica at reception.

We fley to Girona. Becaues it was Easter we had trouble booking transport so with only a couple of days to go we contacted hotel and it arranged all our transport for the 7 days which included trips to five golf courses. This was a big ask with golf gear for 12 golfers but they povided two minibusses at very short notice. The drivers were great, always on time, never rushing us after the game of golf and we didn't have to worry about how to find the courses. Just brilliant and took all the hassle of driving away from us. Not sure my golf was any better as a result!!

The hotel is rated 3 star and while the breakfast was basic the food in general was good. We arrived late at night and a lovely buffet was laid on for us at a very reasonable cost. While there is no pool with the hotel you are just on the beach and you can hear the water laping outside if you leave the bedroom window open. The views from the lounge or seating area are out onto the sea. There is a nice walk just off the beach also. Note that there is no lift to the bedrooms and the stairs is somewhat narrow. The bedrooms we had were all en-suite and most with a sea-view - a little easier to get in April I would say than in high-summer. While they were a little small they were comfortable and as we were all in single rooms the space was no problem.

The town is a very nice one and we were only three minutes walk from it and we went to it most evenings. We didn't find the restaurants any cheaper than Ireland if you wanted a nice meal. One drawback is that if you are a sports fan the Hotel does not have Sky Sports and the Heiniken Cup, with Munster and Leinster playing and the Masters (Golf) were on the week we were there. Wewould have liked to dine in the hotel and watch the matches and golf there but we had to seek out pubs that had it which caused a little problem as these were hard to find and the Spaniards were more interested in soccer. Amazingly they did not seem to have any interest in Golf- one wonders have they heard of Seve, Sergio or Jose Maria. The smoking in the pubs was dreadful and made us realise how good it is in Ireland with the smoking ban in such places.
There are some very good golf courses in the area (PGA Catralunya - and Emporda - both with two courses) and prices are not as expensive as the South of Spain or Vilamoura where we used to go. Le's hope this area does not follow suit and price itself out.

I believe the Hotel it is mostly occupied by Spaniards during the high season but we were all very pleased with it and fould it value for money and a gem as far as three star hotels go. If we go to that part of Spain in 2010 I expect we will be returning to this hotel

This little hotel is perched on the cliffs at a quiet end of a fairly lively (but not brash) resort. The location not only gives fabulous views in all directions, but gives guests the opportunity to sample the shopping and nightlife of the resort within a few minutes walk without it being forced upon you.
We booked direct with the hotel and chose a room with a large balcony. The room was a bit on the small side but had such wonderful seaviews it made up for it. Half board varied from good to not so good but it does also offer A La Carte. The house wine offered is a very good standard and good value for a hotel restaurant.
At this time of the year it's a popular venue for weddings ( 2 during our stay) and these can take over the hotel somewhat, restricting access to terraces etc. It also meant we couldn't upgrade our room because of the wedding party bookings.
Live music most nights was quite enjoyable without being too noisy. The reception and bar staff are friendly and helpful.
A well-run hotel that we will return to, probably on a bed and breakfast basis next time.

I had fond memories from my first visit is 1964. It is just as beautiful as I remember. The hotel is off the main road. It could be in another country. At this time of year, there are'nt the crowds and that made it very quiet and sedate.
