I've visited Platja d'aro over 8 times and I hated Els Pins. Its run by old miserable people, If you hit the town in the evening & arrive back gone mid night the old man that sits by the entrance all night is never happy to see you, every night he moaned at me in spanish!
The room was basic & spacious with a nice sized balcony, I did not feel at home at this hotel & i constantly felt like i was being watched.
There are some lovely hotels just a 10 minute walk into the town. Cuitat de palol is amazing and also cala gogo.
