“3rd time here ... still as good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Have just returned home from our 3rd holiday at this great little apartment complex and it just keeps getting better.
We had apartment number 106 which was more than adequate for somewhere to shower and sleep for a week. The room was cleaned every day and the beds were really comfortable.
Pako does an amazing job at getting people involved in the poolside activities - or he will leave you to lay on a lounger whilst he takes your hyperactive husband away for an hour or so! He creates a friendly atmosphere around the pool by getting people involved and mixing with each other - well done Pako - keep up the great work - we will see you again in 125 sleeps!
The location is fantastic - right on the marina with a great choice of places to eat and drink to suit all budgets. We ventured into town once for an evening meal at Casale Franco (great food at a great price as always) but the rest of the time we couldn't be bothered to walk the 10 minutes down there and we ate on the marina!
'Cookies' restaurant is well worth a visit. Situated at the end of the marina between Blue Note and Le Petit Marmite - we visited twice as the food was soooo good - the service is excellent and the prices are so reasonable its almost embarrassing when the bill arrives as to how little you have been charged! Blue Note is also consistantly good - you know you are going to get good service and the food will be excellent. We were sad to learn however that the Sunset Lounge bar at Pueblo Marinero is being taken over by the hotel next month and that the current staff are all being replaced. We will miss Helena and Eduardo at our next visit in September - they will be a huge loss to the hotel.

Room Tip: Room 106 was 1 row back from the pool (not a premier room) and it was fine.

Adult only apartments which are dated, and in need of improvement, but very clean complex with friendly staff. Eccential to request an apartment with a sea view, accommodation at the rear gives the impression of a barrack block. Adaquate size swimming pool and sun bed area. No evening entertainment. Ten minute walk from Dorado beach. Highlight being evening meals in the various restaurants on Rubicon marina.

Room Tip: request a sea view apartment.

We have just returned from staying in the Pueblo Marinero. On our other visits to Playa Blanca we have stayed in a particular 5 star hotel, but Pueblo Marinero is the one we will stay in next time. The whitewashed buildings look very well kept, the gardens are beautiful. The pool is a lovely temperature and very clean. Maybe we were just lucky, but our room looked to have been recently painted and was very clean. I paid for a sea view and was not disappointed. Lovely to watch the boats going in and out of the Marina, and to look over the pool.
I loved the trendy look of the reception area (all white) and the planters around the pool lit up at night. The loungers round the pool are supremely comfortable. Mix of round and rectangular beds with head cushions. You would pay extra for those in most places. Jacuzzi is a lovely size too.
Unlike other hotels in the area, this one keeps the sunshine after 4pm, and we were still sitting out after 7.
The hotel could probably make money out of turning the restaurant into a club at night, but there are so many restaurants in the area, they don't have to and it keeps the hotel lovely and tranquil.
Ideally situated, it is about a minute to restaurants of which there are a great selection in the marina, and about 15-20 min easy walk in to Playa Blanca.
Staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.
To the guy who complained about the cockroach in a previous comment and then left the hotel, what on earth do you expect when you go to a foreign country! I saw 1 cockroach in the bushes, but how on earth would the hotel be expected to keep them out?
I think this hotel does a great job and we will be back soon.
Oh, I nearly forgot the brilliant breakfasts! Food freshly cooked as you order it, or a buffet.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a sea view or pool view room

Rooms are large & clean but in need of refurb - we had a ground floor superior apartment but I'm not sure there was anything superior about it, to us it was a bog standard room with good wifi - bathroom large with 2 showers water always hot - towels threadbare - LADIES - if you can't live without a hairdryer take your own as theirs is the most useless hairdryer I've ever seen - had a cockroach problem as did others we spoke to - the best thing about this hotel/apartment is the location and the pool area - right on sea front with beach to the right and the lovely marina to the left - the pool area is fab with lovely double loungers and although a few people put towels on beds at crack of dawn (despite notices saying please do not do this) there was no shortage at this time of year - I imagine at the height of summer this would be a problem - Elena & Lorenzo in the pool bar are a credit to this establishment, the same cannot be said for the breakfast cook, didn't get her name but you can't miss her, short, dark hair, miserable woman - this restaurant is probably the worst I've been in and resembles a dirty school canteen your feet stick to the floor and it smells of stale fat - we were told off for visiting at 9.50 as it closes at 10am!!!! and then served a plate of bacon scraps swimming in fat !!!! I wouldn't bother with breakfast or any other meal here - Harp Irish bar down the road serves a lovely full English/Irish breakfast go there !!!!

To summarise don't expect luxury but it has all the basics, pool lovely, eat elsewhere (apart from pool bar snacks which were lovely) for the price we paid we were happy with it - location superb

Room Tip: ask for 1st floor facing main pool much brighter sunnier than ground floor rooms

This adult only complex is ideally situated between the Marina and Playa Blanca and was wonderfully quiet, with excellent facilities right on the doorstep (Tourist Information, Car Hire, Taxis, Supermarkets, Shopping Centre, restaurants and bars).

The staff are all very friendly and efficient. The pool area is small and there are a limited number of loungers for residents to use.

Gardens were well kept, however the accommodation blocks and rooms could do with a little paint touch-up as they were showing their age a little.

We stayed for 1 week in April and have just booked a further 2 weeks in July.

1 minute from the beach. 1 minute from a number of restaurants and 1 minute from shops. Great facilities. Very quite. Great service. Wheelchair access. If you are disabled the you can hire mobility scooters nearby. Even though self catering, maid in every day and fresh towels

We booked a premier room which was supposed to have a beach view. We arrived to a very tired apartment which was very, very disappointing. There was no beach view and we looked onto a stone wall with barbed wired on the top which looked out onto scrub land.
There was no beach nearby and this was the sole reason why we choose this apartment. We booked 2 weeks and stayed only one night after we found a cockroach in our apartment. We checked out and had to find somewhere else. This was our experience.

Room Tip: We recommend not to stay here.
