“hotel for adults”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

this hotel was great for our week of sun in March .
the apartments were clean and spacious with pots and pans , refrigerator and ice box .
Great pool area , with sun beds , at some point not enough but i thought it was in the middle of the week when the hotel was just about full. Nice " activation staff" Paco, all thought he didn't convince us into any activity ( not the purpose of the travel ) he was a great asset to the apartment hotel - ill have to mention the hotel cats . Ive travel to both spain and greece a lot . and as i see the different between the y way they treat their stay animals. this hotel "had " 3 cats . if pull feed one cat it stays and wait for you to come home. if not, you just turn it a way and it will not come back. To us it was a good and welcoming opportunity to have cat company and we didn't mind at all. the rooms decor are a bit outdated and the bathrooms have seen better times in the 2000 . BUT i will recommend this hotel for its two terraces apartments and a good pool great view, walking distance to the lively part of the Lido of playa blanca ( 8 min ) and the right next to the exclusivity to marina Rubion

Dear C_falck,

Thank you very much for your opinion. I am glad you liked the way we deal with the cats and I will pass on to Pako your words of recognition. He is a very good professional.

It will be delightful to have you back at Pueblo Marinero next time.

We were really looking forward to seeing the improvements and changes to this hotel as we has stayed here previously; we were not disappointed. Now it's adults only the holiday was totally relaxing and enjoyable. The complex is lovely and in a perfect location with beautifully kept apartments and grounds. It has fabulous views over the marina and the walk down to the restaurants and shops only a short distance away. Although we loved lounging round the pool, it was just as good chilling out on the balcony of our apartment. It was a lovely stay and we cannot wait to return.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

We've just come back from a week at these apartments and we're very impressed! We had booked a two bedroomed apartment but were expecting a studio style open plan room with two bedrooms going off, so we were delighted to find a two story bungalow, with two large bedrooms, a bathroom upstairs and toilet downstairs, and an upstairs balcony and downstairs patio. OK, the décor wasn't quite to our taste but it was lovely to have so much space in the living areas. The beds were also really comfortable. My only criticism was that the bathrooms/toilets are really small. If you have mobility difficulties and need help/extra space in the bathroom/toilet, you really need to ask for an adapted room. However, for an able-bodied person, they're fine and the extra space in the living areas makes up for it!

The communal space is great. The pool area was lovely, there are traditional and padded sun loungers, and there's also space away from the pool for the games ran by the lovely Paco! There's also a smaller, quieter pool at the back of the complex. The complex is set out in 3 rows of apartments and we were in the back row, which meant we didn't have a great view but it was peaceful. All communal areas were spotlessly clean and it just looks well maintained and nice!

We had chosen to stay bed and breakfast but have to say the breakfast was not worth the extra money. There was a limited cold buffet (compared with other hotels I have stayed in) and you didn't get a large portion of a cooked breakfast. This is not the fault of the staff who worked at breakfast, they were really friendly and did their best with what they had, but we got the impression management are trying to discourage breakfast. There are two well stocked supermarkets over the road so buying breakfast or lunch items wouldn't be a problem.

This leads to my main criticism about the apartments, and that is the lack of a late night bar. This may not be an issue in the summer but when we went it was cold on a night, meaning the inside of all the restaurants were filled with diners, and it wasn't pleasant enough to drink outside after your meal. It would have been nice to be able to have a drink when you returned to the hotel and mix with others, but that facility wasn't available.

We also had to complain about our maid. Our apartment was spotless when we arrived and the next day the maid arrived to clean it just as we were about to go in to get changed. As we'd hardly been in, we said we wouldn't have it cleaned but we would the next day. Then the next day she didn't come, so bins weren't getting emptied, the bath wasn't being wiped down (apart from us swilling it, there was no cleaning products provided). We mentioned it to the rep (to make sure we weren't expecting too much) who informed the hotel and it was sorted straight away. To be fair, I think we had a rogue maid because all the others we saw seemed to work hard and as I said above, the outside areas were very clean!

The location of the hotel is great. Right on the Marina Rubicon, so a short walk to restaurants and shops, and right on the promenade that leads into the main part of Playa Blanca. I was also impressed at how disabled friendly the area was, apart from a lack of disabled toilet facilities in restaurants!

I'd definitely go back!

Room Tip: Front rooms have best view but apartments further back and away from main road will be quieter.

Dear Shonio Hull,

Thank you very much for your opinion and thank you for scoring 5 out of 5.

I am sorry to read your opinion about breakfast. We try to make it best we can providing fruit, yogurts, cold cuts, pastry... But we make an extra effort with the hot breakfast. That´s why we make it a la minute in the Show Cooking. I am sad to read it was a matter of quantity. Surely a missunderstanding with the cook. I will try to sort this our inmediatly.

Thank you once more and we hope to see you again soon at HD Pueblo Marinero.

Yours sincerely,

We last visited Pueblo Marinero in December 2012, not long before it became adults-only.
Much as we had enjoyed our last holiday, we noticed a lot of improvements on this occasion. The accommodation has been modernised, and the areas around the pool greatly improved. The complex was, as previously, very well maintained, and the cleaning service excellent. Paco, the entertainment staff, was very friendly even although we didn't join in any of the activities (not our scene, but loads of guests seemed to thoroughly enjoy getting involved).
We plan to be back at Pueblo Marinero very soon!!

Room Tip: As if we would give away our secret!!!!!!!

The location is definitely the best thing about this accommodation, closely followed by the fact that its child free and relaxing. So nice to sit around the pool area with a good book in peace and quiet. The location really couldn't be better. Right on the Marina and easy walking distance to some excellent restaurants and a ten minute easy stroll along the promenade to Dorado Beach. A further five minutes takes you into the centre of the resort.

The rooms are slightly dated but are clean and comfortable. The self-catering kitchen facilities are a little limited and could possibly do with being upgraded for anyone who does want to provide some of their own meals. A grill or oven would be a great improvement - possibly in place of the microwave which we certainly didn't use at all.

We would certainly stay here again when we visit Playa Blanca.
