“brilliant family holiday!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

we stayed at the flamingo beach for two weeks from 13th-27th june. i had requested a bungalow which is what we got and it was lovely near the quiet pool 47. The food was fantastic and plenty of choice especially salads. my two children aged 3 and 7 loved it especially i5live they haven't stopped singing the songs since we got back. My daughter was a big fan of holly and frank. During the first week of the holiday we struggled to get sunbeds as people had put towels on them before 7am but we just went wherever and spent more time at beach which is lovely. the pools are always freezing cold no matter what time of the day but that didn't stop my daughter. During the second week they chained the beds up by the main pool so you couldn't get one til 9am which was much fairer. The tex mex was one of my favourites. the waiters are great with kids and often give them lolly pops. I found all the reps to be great and the kids club reps were fantastic thank you. Would go back again for sure wish we were still there.

Room Tip: request a bunbalow they are bigger we had 47 near the quiet pool.

We returned this morning from the holiday village. Our daughter aged 8 actually cried when we left as she had enjoyed it so much. Our youngest daughter aged 4 loved the holiday and absolutely adored Mel from the entertainment team. The food was lovely with a large choice. The drinks were very good and included cocktails. The hotel is spotless and there was always someone cleaning, pruning or painting to make sure it looked it's best. The rooms were spacious and had a kitchen with fridge which we found very useful. Sunbeds around the main pool were difficult to get but the hotel did chain them up to prevent people taking them on an evening, the hotel can't really do much more. We settled for the quiet pool and walked to the main pool to join in the quiz etc. The kids clubs run all day and our children got into any they chose, just turn up 20 minutes before the start and queue. The entertainment team are fantastic. We met Frank on our arrival when we were trying to find our rooms, he actually took a suitcase from us and led us to the rooms. Holly, Rachel, Will/Jamie, Frank and Mel were brilliant. Were loved all shows. Our daughters loved everything they did. Our youngest wants to be just like Mel she loved her that much. Mel even came to say goodbye which was lovely. We've never been anywhere where there are so many reps. There was never an out of office notice, someone was always there willing to help. One big negative is the half day trip to discover fire mountain, it cost a fortune and was rubbish, it's a bus tour that bores you, the guide only let us get off when she wanted a cigarette break and we were rushed through the most interesting part so the driver didn't have to pay for parking. We wouldn't hesitate to return to this holiday village. We were so sad to leave. Thanks to all staff.

I Stayed here 20-27th June. Was very pleased with pretty much everything and definitely got what I paid for. Even though some people disagreed, It was quite easy to get a sunbed every morning, although you have to arrive 8:50 to guarantee a sunbed when they are unchained at 9. If you turn up after 9 you will not get one. The food I thought was very good and varied, although it would have been nice if the pasta dishes which were available everyday, were changed, and not kept the same every single day. The apartment I was put in was lovely, and close to everything, but was not very pushchair friendly, as all the apartments have a set of stairs. Despite this we managed just fine. My apartment was only cleaned three times out of seven, so towards the end of the holiday the bin was overflowing and It was getting quite dirty. The staff there were very friendly and helpful, especially when my daughter hit her head very badly, they couldn't do enough to help, giving her stickers, lollies and an ice pack for her head. The entertainment team were excellent, putting on great daily activities, and putting on a really good show each evening. The shows changed daily and maximum effort was put in to each one; Especially by Holly, Frank andJamie (who still owes me a t-shirt) were all Fab. You could really tell they work hard and enjoy what they do. My daughter was too young to really understand the children's nightly entertainment but enjoyed the widgets and all the songs. Overall, it was a great family holiday and would definitely go there again. Rhiannon Fisher

We stayed at the Flamingo Beach for two weeks commencing 2nd June.

To start I want to thank all the amazing staff at this village without them I wouldn't have enjoyed this holiday as much.... Entertainment staff Frank, Jamie, Melanie & Holly WOW what work they put in to ensure everyone is entertained all day:) My children 10 and 6 would also like to say how amazing Tom, Adam, Sam, Gemma & Chris are, they enjoyed many activities in kids club and around the pool with these guys daily:) :) ( Special thanks to Tom and Adam you guys are the best)x

The resort itself was not the best! but it was clean and food was a wide variety, the chef's prepare fresh meat / fish in each restaurant daily and a good choice of veg / salad / chips etc.... And the cleaning staff were fab and the room smelled fresh and clean everyday.

Sofa beds were not the best and the pillows were very hard.....I did expect better to be honest!

Whilst we were there the hotel decided to close the main pool bar!!!! This was a bad choice for parents with small kids as the other bar they opened was further away and every time you needed a drink etc. it made it feel like a chore rather than a relaxing holiday!! Also a beach bar is not available on the beach - you have to walk back into resort up three flights of stairs and this is the new pool bar they opened again (we did complain whilst there) :( It was la bam bola previously which was close to beach)

Pool not big enough for resort! They do have more than one but if you like to join in the activities pool side there are just not enough beds / room! We were luckier than some as the first week was quieter and far more enjoyable ( with main pool bar open ). There were always spaces for my kids in club and on busier times the staff pulled all resources to accommodate more children not to let any child down.

The discover fire mountain excursion was excellent and we also did the Teguise market excursion (this also included a visit to Santa Barbara castle which was good). We also went to the local aqua park which is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel-good for a couple of hours but you wouldn't spend the day there! ( If you walk along the beach front I discovered a excursion tour operator and if you buy aqua lava tickets with him they are cheaper than on the door or what the hotel can offer them for, it's only about a 10 minute walk)

We always travel with first choice but this was the first holiday village.... Will definitely go to a holiday village again but unfortunately not in Lanzarote. Have already booked splash resort for next year:)

To end on a good note - I'd again like to thank the fab team they have there, they are the best asset to the holiday.

We have just returned from a two week stay at this lovely resort.Beautifully clean room which was kept this way for our full stay. The food was beautiful, im a vegetarian and very fussy about what i eat but i have nothing but praise for the excellent choice of tasty food. The restaraunt staff were always so friendly and happy to assisst in anyway they could. My only bugbear is that guests were not required to dress to eat in the restaraunts. So there were people milling around in bikinis and similar state of undress which myself and my husband found a little off putting. My 8year old daughter chose not to join the kids clubs on offer but met other kids around the pool and was quite happy to play in the pools all day. my 22 month old also enjoyed paddling around in the small pool. The beach which was literally on our doorstep was beautifull. The sea was clear and the fish swam around us as we played, which the kids loved. I would definately return to this resort. Although when we booked for our holiday the holiday advisor did tell us that Lanzarote had a gentle, cool breeze in the evenings. There is more like a constant wind most of the day which is nice on times as it does keep you cool, but can be annoying when the sand is blowing in your face, and your inflateables are flying around the beach!

Room Tip: we paid a little extra to be away from the noisy pool and entertainment area and we also requested a...
