“lovely place but one important problem !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

On arrival you are handed a map at reception your apartment is circled and off you go to find your apartment in this huge maze!!! Not so bad if you have stayed before and you are familiar with the grounds, then add in inclines and lots and lots of steps plus darkness in a very poorly lit site. It was very frustating and down right dangerous. When new holiday makers arrive at night there should be some person to guide your way. Only oursleves and another couple arrived at the same time so this shoulnt have been a problem for a member of staff to show you to your apartment. The numbers of the apartments do not run in sequence so it is hard to get your bearings. We came to many a holiday maker rescue seeing them wandering map in hand with suitcases buggies and yound children. How there has not been a had nasty accident is amazing ( or perhaps there has!) they really need to address this.

The animation team are fab and work very hard often staying behind after shows to dance with the dhildren. Around the main pool area there is always something for the younger ones to keep them entertained clowns etc.

Playa Blanca is the best resort in Lanzarote and the Flamingo bay is lovely however cannot agree that the food is good we found it disappointing and although fully inclusive ate out.
This resort is definetly geared for families with young children not couples., and certailnly not for people who have mobility problems as there are too many steps. As the kitchens are so well equiped in the apartments would recommend self catering for breakfast and lunch the quality of food for little ones is poor and the same everyday.in the on site restaurants There are some lovely local restaurants to visit in the evening that are good value.

Dear customers,
Thank you very much for your review. First of all I am happy that you enjoyed your holidays.
As for the issue you mention, yes Flamingo is a huge resort. All customers are provided with a map after checking in so to reach the room should not be a problem. Anyway I will take your comments into consideration to improve the lighting where possible but always keeping in mind that the gardens and the palm trees have a better effect when the lights are strategically displayed and normally with low intensity.
I would like to take this opportunity to tell all our customers that we are now in Carnival time. Come to Flamingo in Lanzarote and enjoy our fantastic weather. We have launched a good discount for this month so do not miss this great opportunity!!. Just check you First choice website.
See you soon,
Angel

First time in Lanzarote, we are from Blyth in Northumberland.. It's a hidden gem. My wife and i are in our late 40s and took this holiday on the spur of the moment. The flamingo beach resort is a fantastic place to holiday. The one bedroom apartment we had was ideal, it had a small kitchen with a fridge and a kettle. The balcony was a sun trap and not over looked by any other tourists. We had a tv with english channels, so that kept the wife happy. The complex boasts an indoor pool gym and three bars. The food was fantastic .The chef cooked the food in front of us. lobster, fish squid, pork, beef chicken and as much plonk as you can handle. One of the restaurants was for adults only. The family restaurant was very nice, but a little noisier. The staff were very pleasent and allways smiling. The pool bar served great cocktails, lager and wine.
This is a family resort not Magaluf. Most of the familes, whick were Scandanavian seemed to go to bed at 10 pm. The entertainment was,nt to my liking, but that in know way spoiled my holiday.
I like to sit back and chat with other holiday makers. I could go on for ever, it was a cracking holiday and i,m going back next year for two weeks.
The beach is great for snorkling or sunbathing.
we went in january and it was 22 degree,s.

Room Tip: room 54a was a complete private balcony and is close to the restaurant, pool and bar.We had sun all...

Just got back from a last minute break to Playa Blanca, we booked via Holiday Hypermarket. The sunday to sunday flight from Luton they offered "Flamingo Beach" previous reveiws said the food was good, but looking in brochure was a little concerned after we booked it that it was a very child friendly hotel and we were going without kids. On arrival the Hotel had no fancy reception but the welcome was good , a huge complex and our room was A60. This was with a pool and sea veiw, but we thought that we may be to close to the pool, but it was fine. We went on an All Inclusive basis and was not dissappointed, the food was fab, breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the adult restuarant you helped yourself to wine, beer and soft drinks, nothing seemed to be scrimpped on. The evening entertainment was very good run by a swedish team.
The weather was not bad, but the constant wind got our our nerves, there was some good walks along the promanades, but a week was long enough. There was not a great deal to do unless you wanted to hire a car or go on organised trips.

Room Tip: If you are going with out kids ask for top floor apartments, there is only 2 levels

Just Returned on Sun 27th Jan 2013 from a lovely relaxing week staying at the Flamingo Beach resort , Both myself and husband had a lovely relaxing week ( All inclusive ) .On arrival the reception staff booked us in very quickly and efficiently , on arrival at room very pleased , as rooms clean , fresh and well maintained , also a courtesy bottle of water and Tea Bags and coffee.
Our room 67A had a great view of Fuerteventura , even although we were above the Moon Bar, couldn't hear much of the entertainment team practicing for their shows which were excellent especially the Eurovision song theme night also the Pirates of the Mediteranean.
The food in the Buena Vista restaurant was excellent for Lunch and Dinner menu's , plenty of choice including , chicken ,fish and pork and loads of veg and salads etc ,and the desserts were to die for .The El Chef below the snack food which we took instead of lunch was excellent choice , especially the self made toasties and salads , a great variety of snacks which would suit all delicious !!
Help yourself to wine and beer when desired !!
Part of the all inclusive a visit to the Tex Mex restuarant was delicious .
All the staff from the reception , Pool bar ,both Restaurants and the Cleaning staff were all very helpful and friendly and did a good job .
The different pools was great for all .
I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family and will certainly return in the winter months .
The Atlantic bar was also good and made a change form the Moon Bar

Room Tip: rooms on the upper level have great sea views

Had a really good time 4 adults and 1 child age 8. we got a room near to the pool and all the main parts eg kids club main bar at night time and reception.would up grade my room only for the bed it was 2 singles put together and the sofa bed was hard nothing to worry about but we went with my mum and dad who had an up graded room and it was alot more lush. rooms were spotless and really clean with everything you would need if you wanted to go self catering. Beach was really well looked after, and we were there most days my little girl loved it and the kids club. Food and drink was really good. The staff were fab and very friendly all the time. The entertainment was ok 9 till 10 and that was long enough, but no disco for the kids. Will be going back soon had a lovely time in the sun away from the snow.

Just come back from a lovely holiday at this hotel :) We had agreat room and it was big and well equipped with a view of the sea and the mountains! We asked for a quiet romantic spot and we got a lovely one, with a wispy tree overhanging the balcony. As we had no children we ate in the Adults only restaurant, which was very nice, very clean with lots of choice. i don't like fish - which was plentiful- but I never had the same thing twice, except by choice. the red wine and desserts were exceptional.
The complex is massive and we usually chose the quieter pool which had it's own bar and toilets and the staff here were lovely, the atmosphere very chilled out, and only a 2 minute walk from the apartment or the beach.
We went to both of the Eurovision nights and the Circus night and both were really good, the singing and dancing were to a very high standard. The pirate night seemed a bit "childish" so we had an early night. Drinks were lovely and plentiful and all the staff worked hard to keep the place clean- no mean feat with so many people eating and drinking all day and night.
I booked a massage at the Wellness centre with Ava and she sorted out an ongoing problem I have had with my neck so I am massively grateful for that , thanks Ava!
The resort is only minutes walk away and trips booked there are literally half the price of Thomson/ first choice and are the same trip. There is a guy in a permanent office by the harbour called Phil from Blackpool who is great- don't fall the for the travel agent rip off!
The beach was divine and the water was lovely, overall we couldn't have wished for a nicer holiday. Thanks to Angel, helle and the staff xxxxTop Tip: if going in Jan , take socks and a fleece for the evening as it does get cold.

Room Tip: we stayed in 31a- an upper floor. There was a bit of road noise but we were mostly undisturbed, the...

my husband and myself have just returned from the flamingo beach resort .when we arrived our apartment was readily avalible and was spotless with a free bottle of water from the onsite shop which was nice . the restarants were also the same the food there is excellant with a great choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner with snacks inbetween if you can manage any more food but not a lot for veggies. all the staff are friendly and cannot be more helpful but !!!!!! on the other hand there is no daytime activitys and only a 1hour show at night which doesnt start until gone 9pm and done by the complex staff and was in swedish as ther was a 70% to 30% ratio it was really a let down there is no bingo quizzes or proffessional shows nothing to entertain the children unless you gave them to the kids club for 10 euro a day. there are lots of stairs and hills round the complex so anyone with walking difficulties its a no no although we had a break from the snow we will not be returning again as the complex dosnt offer much in the way of activities or entertainment

Room Tip: if you want a good view of the pool get rooms 1a _10a

Dear customers
Thank you for your review. I am glad that you liked the hotel and enjoyed the food. As for the entertainment let me explain it to you. From November to April, Tui nordic is in charge of the entertainment (daytime and evenings). The language used in all communications is "english" as the finnish for example would never understand the swedish. All ents and reps speak perfect English so it should not be a problem. The evenings shows (welcome to the circus, Pirates of the mediterranean, etc) are all performed in English by fantastic singers. Therefore, all customers can understand the shows as long as they can speak English. Only in the summer time First choice organizes the entertainment but that is Holiday village.
To all would-be customers: Next month in February we will have very good rates to visit Flamingo so hurry up to your nearest shop or just go to the website. Book, email me the request you wish with your booking reference and we will do the rest. See you soon.
regards
Angel
