““Ignore the bad reviews...””
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

Just returned from a weeks’ holiday and thought I would write an honest review as some of the people on here seem to have very high expectations for a 3 star hotel!
We stayed one week and we only can tell good things about the place. The resort is great for families, especially those with small kids or toddlers., and had a lovely time!

The animation team does its best in the different activities and it seemed to me a very safe environment for the children to play. We found a relaxing atmosphere and the staff was attentive and helpful. I think the all-included option is wonderful because beside the buffet is nice, you also get free access to the aquatic park.

Entertainment: Most shows were good, some were a little lacking. With regards to comments about the reps, we saw them every day of the week, always friendly and attentive. Never needed them!
The only thing we would say is they need some proper acts at nite not just the ents team in drag!!
Entertainment- 10-30 to 12-30 and 3-5 during the day. CHOCOLATY!!! Then at night they did some shows(wasn't all bad) and some outside entertainment came in, our daughter loved the magic show. Barman- just the 1, always smiling and queues never more than a couple of mins at there busiest times. Would I recommend the Lanzasur- Most definitely. Would I come back-Yes.

Food- always a theme night, and a kids section. Most times we had lunch at the waterpark. We loved it, there was always plenty of choice.
Food: Always a lot of variety, plenty for all and the staff work so hard in the restaurant.

Waterpark-our daughter loved the lazy river the most, and if you didn't get a sunbed by the pool you had no problem getting chairs and a parasol at the waterpark if you went over when it opened at 10am

Cleanliness: Had no issues here, rooms were clean enough and towels/bedding changed regularly enough. Heat was a bit much in the room at times but we got on with it.

if you want a cheap family holiday this place is great. Some people have torn this place down in previous reviews, and if they stayed there

I read over all these reviews before I booked. I thought I'll go with an open mind. On arrival which was 12.30am the man on reception was very welcoming. He even wanted to feed us before we went to bed! The food was good, plenty variety, but Repetative. Over all the bungalows and pool surrounding areas were very clean. Although not everyone could manage to clean up after themselves. there was alot of paper cups blowing about, not the hotels fault as there are plenty of bins, just people being LAZY. The Waterpark : it has 4 slides, a wave pool, a lazy river and a small kids area. The Slides are for children over 1.20m heigh and the life guards are very strict on this.
We booked through First Choice, wouldn't recommend them - We had no rep from the airport. I went to book an excursion on the first evening and was told it was booked out = sorry. end off/// I then went to the promanade on the beach and found Last Minute Tickets, got the excursion for over HALF the price less than what the rep wanted.
We took the Discover Fire Mountain Excursion, which inc a Camel Ride, and took us to see volcanos and all the history and back to a small wine tasting yard.
The WIFI in the hotel is awful, €8 for 150gb. Only seemed to work around the pool. Then it didn't work at all. Most of the bars have free wifi. Lovely beach is a 10 min walk from hotel. Where the fish come right up beside u.
Overall this was our family holiday 2 kids 6,8. the bungalows were small and no air con, meant it was hard to get to sleep. Fans were available at 30 per week. but 2 would be needed. Dont think Id return back to this hotel.

Room Tip: ASk to be near the pool area.

The hotel was fine clean friendly staff as expected.Being all inclusive food will be repetitive ours was very European, olives cold meat fish there was bacon egg steak and a grill every night themed nights oriental,Mexican Spanish etc OK but as other people have done we ate out on 4 occasions
There is very little internet at 4 euros an hour(you must use all hour in one go ) hello 20th century, only 2 English channels on TV and could not upgrade (as we have done every time for the kids ) once again 20th century
Fans 15 euros per week needed 2 could not sleep without them. You could upgrade 40 euros per week for air con
Only 1 barman on to serve and clean tables we saw 2 one night( manager must of been there)
Kids entertainment very very poor . 2 left not replaced poor Steven worked hard .The 1 show was a magician watchable but what about other 13 nights ,3 men dressed in togas SPITTING water at each other, shows cancelled animation team doing comedy routine in foreign language
Not great for an English family with kids 5 and 8.Because bored lots kids running riot not good
Water park next door free if all inclusive.Fully manned with plenty of life guards clean well run food OK .We went on 4 occasions
Tried to go shopping not much around hotel 3-5 euros taxi ride (hotel will arrange this and they come before you get to get to front door )
Would not go to the resort or hotel again as had better holidays on the island sorry first choice not your usually standard
I

Just returned from lanzasur slash resort after a two week stay two adults two children. aged ten and six have to say this holiday is not what we expected.accommodation basic and very small for a family and no air con in the canaries resulted in many sleepless nights you could upgrade or hire fans at additional costs on top of what already paid which doesn't seem right...food was very repetitive and not much choice especially for children had to eat out on number of occasions to make sure they had eaten, lunch in splash park was better but again very repetitive. Afternoon snacks were non existant hotel provided sandwiches left outside on bar in cling film all day in the sun.staff all very friendly and helpful and worked very hard as there wasn't many of them. The entertainment i can only describe in one word TERRIBLE except for one night magic show was the only highlight in two weeks children very bored and lots of children running around with nothing to entertain them which was a real let down as we chose this hotel with it being family based. splash park very clean and well supervised by lifeguards but very small and novelty runs out after a couple of days.I would certainly not return to this hotel and will do more research next time.......

I went 19th-28th September 2013 and had a great time. We arrived at the Hotel Lobby, check-in was quick an very friendly.
And our holidays started off immediately. Very nice pools, the food and the water park are awesome.Breakfast, lunch and dinner was quite good with a good variety and very clean dining area. Every Night there are a thematic dinner. The staff all over the Hotel, starting with the team at the reception, Animation, Restaurant, Bar & Pool staff were more than friendly and helpful an fulfilled every wish you had.The animation team they worked hardly throughout the day and night.
The Hotel is very clean and they do a fantastic job. Seeing other reviews we never had a problem with sun loungers, everyday there was plenty.
Overall a great hotel. We will returns for sure.

I can honest say that we had a fantastic time 26th Aug-2nd Sept. on arrival a drink was pressed into our hands as soon as we reached reception, quick easy check in, directions to our room, then into dinner.

The rooms, pool, bar and restaurant were all spotlessly clean. By the end of the day, the actions of a few lazy people meant that there were cups scattered around the pool area, but that has not the fault of the staff who worked hard throughout the day.

The bungalow would be spacious for two, but was slightly cramped for the four of us, although we did n't go to sit in our room. It was clean and the beds made. Air conditioning would have been a bonus but hired two fans at 15 euros each; this made sleeping easier.

The waterpark was great, never really big queues for the slides. Slightly disappointing that the wave pool was only on once an hour, pool also quite salty. The pools within the hotel were great. No rowdy kids, everyone pleasant. Inflatables toys allowed.

The bar area was cramped and the bar man works by himself, only some of the all inclusive drinks are self serve at night. The entertainment is so dire its funny. The Michael Jackson night was 'special', although hats off to the reps that did it.

An easy walk into Playa Blanca, with nice bars for a different evening outside the complex.

We did the Thompson Island Tour that specialised in taking you to sites were they must have been on commission. The aloe vera plantation was n't too bad, but the vineyard....only there long enough for a loo break and to throw a glass of wine at you. Nothing about how the vines are cultivated or wine produced. The volcanos and lunar landscape part was worth it. I'm sure you could get better for less if you went into the town and organised it yourself.

The reps do the hard sell on the way back regarding the questionnaire, apparently giving them a good isn't enough and puts them at risk of not being employed for the next season or getting a rubbish hotel, as the summer season was coming to a close when we left it might have been a bit more full on. Although when travelling back to the airport I don't want a rep that was n't even at my hotel telling me to give them an excellent rating as they want Tenerife and not Tesco for the winter season!

Would go back to the hotel again, as it is excellent for weeks chill out with guaranteed weather.

just returned from a weeks holiday we are a family of four two young kids aged 7 and 9

we arrived at hotel found out the no air con or fan in the rooms extra charge at 40 euros

the staff were very hard working and very good.

for 3 days we had no shows on in the night and when we did we wish they would stop.
my 9 year old girl could have done a better job.

ice cream between 3-5pm this is when the kids club is on 3-5pm they worked that out well. and it was cheep ice cream you have to pay for the nice stuff.

we paid for a trip the Rancho Texas night one, a complete waste of money the kids only got 1 drink offered and the pony ride was only 4 steps then you have to get off the pony the kids were bored out of their minds they took photos off you and print and give out then charge you big let down after money already spent the food was burnt literally like a cattle market waiting for food canteen style and food launched on your small plate no choice in jacket potato or chips only jacket potato only chips for kids with nuggets and for dessert a small tub of cheap ice cream

the best thing of the holiday was the aqua park.
