“A lovely holiday!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

My husband and I have just returned from a 1 week half board holiday at the Lanzarote Princess. We had an absolutely lovely time and found the hotel to be in a prime location. Lovely evening walks along the promenade to the nearby marina and village. All the staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful and the cleanliness was extremely good. Ok maybe there could be a bit of paintwork refreshening but it did not detract from the Lanzarote Princess being a lovely hotel. The breakfasts were wonderful with every possible tastes met. I am a vegetarian and always found something to eat in the evening and the vegetarian pizzas that were made personally were always very good. Just one small grumble - it would be nice if the salad dishes were informative as to whether they contained fish or meat as it was sometimes difficult to tell and I am sure I missed out on some as too scared to try! This was our first visit to Lanzarote and we will defintely return to this delightful hotel. Well done.

Room Tip: Our room was on the lower floor, despite not looking over the pool and what looked like some buildin...

We have just returned having spent 10 days in the Lanzarotte Princess. In the main, we were very pleased considering the price we had paid. The hotel is ideally situated midway between the little town and the marina making it an ideal choice for young and old alike. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis which we find suits us best and the convenience to all the little seafront restaurants, shops and the lovely promenade was superb. The staff were very welcoming and our refurbished room was spotlessly clean and bright. The bathroom was quite large and well appointed although I would have to say that the towels were rather thin and worn to say the least which is not really good enough in a 4 star hotel. The same applied to the bedding, however, it did not detract from our enjoyment of the holiday. Breakfast was very good with a decent choice of food although we did find the dining room extremely large and rather depressing! Hopefully a refurbishment is on the cards as it certainly needs it! While we were there, a new bakery area opened with delicious breads and pastries etc. The pool complex is excellent with plenty of good quality loungers all around and thankfully no noisy music blaring out! There is also a very handy little card operated gate out to the main road from the pool area. Cross the road, go down the path and you are at the beach. What more could you ask for? Entertainment in the hotel was very good with lovely music and dancing every night in the piano bar. Drinks were affordable and the bar was always packed. We also went to an Abba tribute show on the Sunday night which was excellent and brought back many memories. I would have to say, a few parts of the hotel are slightly shabby, especially the carpets in the corridor which appear to have been splashed with bleach from the cleaner's trollies. Not a good look and one which I think should be addressed. Another gripe would be the charge for an in room safe, again something that is not expected in a 4 star hotel. All in all though, we had a wonderful holiday and will certainly return to the Princess, hopefully this time next year. Enough to say, we have even joined the H10 Club which gives us certain benefits which, I think, says it all!

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished room

We enjoyed our stay here, the hotel was good value and comfortable. Food plenty of choice and quite good. Gardens and pool area beautiful, website says 2 pools, one heated in winter, but the main pool was freezing on our visit in mid February, definitely not heated! The kids pools were warmer. Location was excellent only a few hundred yards to a lovely sandy beach with nice beach bar. Bedroom was comfortable with a nice balcony, west facing with a side sea view, room with pool view would be better, only weak link is the glass door to the bathroom.

Room Tip: rooms with pool view would be better and quieter than the west facing one we had.

Visited this hotel before in 2010, and found it has much improved and the staff much better, food has improved greatly, even if a little boring on choice. Thankyou a very enjoyable stay in the lovely Playa Blanca and will definately recommend this hotel to others..

This is a perfect hotel for families.

Wonderful masseuse, Amanda, really cared, very friendly and did a great job although the fitness centre itself was shabby and needed updating.

The coffee shop is lovely, and the food generally is good, although nothing outstanding, no gala night or themed night. There has been a refurb since we were last there a few years ago, and the smell of smoke in the hotel has gone now, the hotel is very clean and well maintained, with lots for the children to do. The grandchildren enjoyed the kids club and made friends. There is also now a library for guests, a great idea.

The pool was however, freezing cold...............no pool games I'm afraid!

We have visited this hotel on eight occassions mainly due to my father now aged 75, enjoying the venue and the position - half way between the marina and the town. The beach is ideal too here.
Over the years we have seen improvements and some deteriorations.
This hotel is comfortable. The bedrooms are now nicely deocrated and spacious - the beds are very comfy and they are kept clean and have daily care.
The new coffee shop is fabulous and serves great coffee and good cakes.
The new restaurant offers a fabulous setting, with friendly and attentive staff and the food is very good.
The bar area is lovely almost like being on a cruise ship.
The restaurant offers a fabulous breakfast, a good lunch but the evening meals have over the years offered less options and the service is unfriendly. Saying this the food is of good quality and you can always find something you would enjoy. The staff do need to be as friendly as the new restaurant- we always want to tip on holiday but could find no one in the restaurant to do this to - sad!
The pool is still freezing - ice cold, too cold to swim in unless you are mad, so no water areobics or water polo on offer! Childrens area of the pool is good fun for children and is heated.
Sadly the entertainment team have deteriorated we used to go and have such fun with the team, and the evening entertainment was much better! Badly organised and poor I am afraid.
Guest acts were good.
Bar service is often very slow - but you are on holiday.
Daniel as always offers a great welcome, and the champagne was a nice added extra on arrival this year! The reception staff always helped if asked and attended to issues promptly.
If you enjoy a relaxing holiday you will enjoy this hotel and look out for Daniel!!

Room Tip: Ask to over look the pool on the second or third floor!

I've stayed in Playa Blanca before but this was my first visit to the Lanzarote Princess. It is in a great location about 5 minutes walk from the old town and 10 mins walk the other way to the Rubicon Marina. There is lots to do in the area. A must is to climb Montana Roja (the volcano on the edge of town) which has amazing views from the top and is impressive. Quite an easy walk too (I saw 6yr olds do it no problem) I got a cab to the bottom :)
The hotel is OK. Not as nice as H10 Timanfaya down the road but still nice. Some areas look a little tired but my room had obviously been refurbished and the piano bar and pool area is nice. Mike's coffee shop is also great. There are loads of sunbeds so no problem there
The food is very plentiful but I agree with some other reviewers that it can be luke warm. There is plenty of choice though and the salads are really good.
I had no problem with the service and everyone from the reception staff to the cleaners are nice and friendly.
A good place for some winter sun and ideally located in the middle of Playa Blanca

Room Tip: most rooms will be side sea view. Pool view rooms to the left of reception (looking out to sea) will...
