“Another lovely holiday in Lanzarote.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

This is such a lovely place to eat, We ate here every day as we did on our last holiday three months ago. The food is lovely and fresh,The service is excellent and there is a lovely atmosphere. We were always made to feel so welcome and I want to say a huge thank you to Raoul, Juan, Angel, and all the other waiters who work so hard to make sure that every customer enjoys their visit.Prawns in garlic, Sardines ,Fillet steak, and Sea Bass are excellent!..Timanfaya the sister restuarant on the sea front is reall good as well but this one is our favourite. We look forward to returning in September for more lovely meals and to visit such a really lovely group of guys. You must try this place for a truly Spanish meal in a lovely Atmosphere. Love to you all guys...Love Lisa and Sarahxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

“Very Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

Tempted in as restaurant was extremely busy normally a good sign? Service was slow and waiter rather brusque. My steak was tough although good flavour. Husband had lasagne which was so salty he couldn't eat it and he does take salt. Wouldn't go back

“Busy, popular and good - if you choose carefully”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

Tipico is a relic of the days when Playa Blanca's streets were paved in picon (volcanic gravel). It has been a favourite with regular visitors for many years. The football pennants and flags of many nations have gone but not much else has changed. It's probably best to make up a meal from the many tapas dishes - good value, tasty and very freshly cooked - enjoy with the very drinkable house wine. Main course dishes tend to be disapointing and are accompanied by sad, luke warm veg. Like many of Playa Blanca's restaurants we found that the quality of meat offered has declined. A great place for watching the passing throng, jolly service and good value - but avoid the steak if you value your teeth.

“"busy but nothing special"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

This restuarant was constantly busy and this is a reason why i went in with my partner, although the starter was lovely (mussels marina style) i was disapointed by my mixed seafood plater, it was chewy not fresh like stated the salad and chips however were lovely! I enjoyed the wine served and the price was not too bad!

However, it was not all bad the service was great, and the waitors were lovely, and it was a tipical spanish as the name suggests. would reccommend booking.

I think i would have enjoyed it more if i had ordered something different! however i don't think i will be going again.

“The Busy One”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

On a recent trip to Playa Blanca we chose this restaurant initially because it was busy while some of its neighbours on that strip had few or no clients. This strip is in the 'town', just past the church that is used by both Catholics and Anglicans. It runs parallel to the wonderful beach walk that is about 100 metres away.
The restaurant itself is not remarkable. It has the typical open-air section of tables and an indoor section.
Why do I recommend it? I think it is for the same reasons that more people chose to eat there.
The waiters are friendly, without being too pushy. The menu is extensive enough to satisfy the average appetite and has a definite Spanish feel to it. The food is tasty and the helpings are more than adequate. If you are a spirits drinker, beware of (or enjoy) the liberal hand of the pourer. The prices are surprisingly low for the quality of the dishes and two people could have a fine meal and drinks for about thirty euro. We especially enjoyed the Grilled Sole which came On The Bone! It was accompanied by a choice of chips, jacket potato or canarian potatoes. All for about nine euro! Check out your local restaurant for Sole on the Bone prices!
On the nights we dined in Restaurante Tipico Espanol there were many family groups and it was good to see how well received they were by the staff. Enjoy Your Visit.
