“Great resort close to seafront”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

Stayed here as an RCI Exchange.

Complex is part timeshare owned and part outright owned and contains around 100x 1 and 2 bedroom villas. The grounds are well kept and secure. We had a 1 bedroom villa with very well equipped kitchen, TV (including mainly English channels), DVD player, CD player. Villa was very well kept, very well furnished and clean and tidy. Bedroom contained 2 single beds which were a little hard but comfortable. If you ask reception will deliver mattress toppers to soften the mattresses. Lots of wardrobe space too.

Bathroom appeared to be newly refurbished and full bath, shower etc.

Change over day was a Thursday with the villa being cleaned on the Monday.

On site there is a very large swimming pool, bar, restaurant, games room, 2 tennis courts, and small supermarket. Reception also has a large book swap / library. All staff encountered were friendly and helpful.

Location: within 10 min walk to the sea front where there is a wide selection of restaurants and shops. Close to the main bus station and plenty of car parking if you have a hire car. There is a larger supermarket across the road which is cheaper than the onsite market.

All-in-all a lovely place to stay but a few drawbacks:

1. NO FREE WIFI. But they charge 10€ per week for wifi access. Speed was good 50% of the time, the rest of the time I had problems connecting.
2. They appeared to water the gardens with reclaimed water. The water stinks and we often found there was a terrible stench around the villa! This contributed to the large amount of mosquitoes that were everywhere
3. They charge 25€ per week for electric and water. Plus take a mandatory 10€ deposit for beach/pool towels.
4. Swimming pool was supposed to be heated but it seems very cold to me.

After one week last year we returned for two weks this time - a recommendation in itself.

We booked through Wimpen. We think the villa this time may be privately owned as we felt it was better furnished. The beds which we criticised last time seemed improved and this time we asked for the toppers which made them very comfortable.

The car free site is very well landscaped and maintained. The villas are very clean and well maintained. The staff are mainly friendly and helpful. The small on site shop seems reasonably priced and well stocked, with friendly service. The location is good with easy access to shops restaurants and the promenade.

There are some aspects that could be better. Bathrooms are clean and serviceable but all the fixtures and fittings we have seen are dated,. The ensuite shower we would score at 2/10 and the main bathroom shower 6/10. Most of the outdoor furnitue at the villas or at poolside is rather outdated white plastic, although some new sun loungers are starting to be introduced at the poolside. The clubhouse is a bit scruffy and dated; the food is ok for a snack.

The overall impression is that its very safe calm and friendly. The accommodation is good value but not trendy or luxurious. We would go again.

We were looking for a Lanzarote holiday with my parents, and they wanted to return to Las Brisas after a holiday there last year.

I was a bit dubious, I dislike shared pools and competing for sunbeds. However, I was swayed by the consistent good reviews this resort manages to attract and so Las Brisas was where we spent last week.

I needn't have worried. The pool area is overseen by competent, friendly lifeguards who behave professionally to ensure everybody gets to enjoy the pool safely and that sunbeds are not hogged unfairly.

One evening our boiler sprang a leak. We telephoned reception at 9am the next morning and by 9.30am two courteous men arrived and installed a new one within half an hour. Impressive. The reception staff were polite and charming. Due to the varying and dodgy wi-fi connection in our villa, I spent time sitting in the reception area to do a spot of downloading - the staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly even to the moaniest of guests.

The resort is very tidy and well cared for. We really liked it here, and the ease with which you can stroll down to the shops, restaurants and sea front is great.

We would most definitely consider returning.

It would be good if the wi-fi was either a) more reliable with better connectivity, or b) free due to the sporadic nature of the signal.

A friendly place where I felt relaxed and secure. Personally I am glad of the way the lifeguards control the pool - nothing worse than rowdy teen games taking over a communal area.

Thanks to ALL the staff for their professionalism.

I've been visiting Las Brisas for more years than I care to remember. Well, actually, I do care to remember, because I've never been disappointed. Some may think it rather boring going to the same place every year but if you find somewhere, which has EVERYTHING you want, why go anywhere else? I visit twice a year and find the very high standard maintained, from cleanliness, reception staff, the bar, pools and the villas. The location is perfect being close to town, beaches etc. I'm going in April for 2 weeks and can't wait......!

This was our first visit and was booked via an exchange with RCI.
we had a 1 bed villa (142) which was I believe , privately owned. This villa is adjacent to the main drag but we really were not aware of it as the road is not very busy. It certainly did not cause any issues..
The villa was very well appointed with everything you could need. comfy chairs, sunbeds and patio furniture. The kitchen had everything but apart from making tea, coffee and sometimes breakfast we never used it. The twin beds on first impression were hard but after the first nights sleep they got the thumbs up for comfort. Soft mattress toppers were available from reception if needed.
The resort itself was beutifully lanscaped and maintained and an air of peace and quite prevailed. The pool was large , clean and `refreshing` . The resturant/bar was nice with food and drinks reasonably price and good but shorts seem overpriced at just under 10 euros for 2 vodka and oranges but beer most other drinks reasonable.
We had to pay 10 euros for 2 pool towels but you can change these at no extra cost,we also had to pay for utilities 25 euros although we were refunded about 11euros on check out after they checked meter readings.
We never used the a/c but this would have increased the utilies charge.
Check in was very smooth as was check out.
The location is good, just a very short walk to the lovely promanade with dozens of eateries of all kinds and many shops , all reasonably priced. also the 3 sandy beaches are all a 10 minute walk away.
There is a small shop on site but across the road is a large supermarket at non tourist prices.
With regard to ALL members of staff, they are all excellent. Very friendly , informative and helpful. We came back on 31st Jan total recharged and with the intention of definately returning the same time next year.

Room Tip: Hire a car at the airport if you can. Auto reisen charges 75 euros for a weeks hire with all insura...

We have visited Las Brisas 3 times, and every time has been excellent. We usually stay in villa 124 and its clean, spacious and well laid out everything you need for a relaxing holiday in Lanzarote. Las Brisas is a short walk from shops, restaurants and bars. We usually eat out at night and have found some great restaurants, especially the indian Spice. There is a small supermarket on site, but the larger hyperdino isnt far away. The staff are friendly and always give you a smile. The pool is large enough and there is a seperate childrens pool, there is plenty of sunlougers, so you are never struggling to get one. Going back in May this year, really looking forward to it and will continue in the future.

I have stayed at Las Brisas for Xmas on many occassions. This is excellent value for money, however the ones that have been renovated are obvs the better choice. These have been here for many years and some of the villas still have the same old furniture from days gone by.....how much do flat screen tvs cost these days!!!!!! Enough of that....they are good value for money and are excellently placed. Everyone is so friendly and you soon become friends with your neighbours. The pool is heated and there is entertainment in the evening ... but unless you have kids is a little dated....Elivs... Karioke...Bird Show etc..... but hey what do you expect for such low outlay in a prime posistion. When you walk out of here the walk along the promanade in either direction is amazeballs!!!!!!!! Cant wait to go back!!!!!!!!!!
