“Nereida.. good points and bad”
I have just returned from the nereida with my boyfriend as we went for his 21st and my 19th birthday, The hotel is lovely and the staff are really nice, expecially the entertainers jorge and claudia, we got on really well with them. Hotel is clean, and the maid service is great. The food is horrible so i reccomend that you dont go all inclusive unless you like battered collyflower, soggy chips or overcooked soggy rice. Even the snack bit..uncooked sausages i mean they were literally the colour they are when raw.soggy left over chips from lunch, and horrible cold burgers. We ended up eating out most of the time. It is edible, but made me and my boyfriend ill. And also it gets very boring ,we stayed for 2 weeks, and all there was for 2 weeks was a choice of salad.. (which was always lettuce tomato and cucumber) then you had cold pasta which had either fish in it or just random things they decided to throw in.Then you got a choice of hot pasta which was probably the only nice thing there. And then the meat which was either uncooked, chewy or just plain horrible. The food you pay for behind the bar is actually nicer than the all inclusive food. Im not a veggi but if you are then there is nothing for you as it all contains some kind of meat. The food is left over from the days before because its funny how one night you will have something and then the next day it would be the same but either battered or breadcrumbed to look like something different! The fresh fruit was lovely though. The entertainment was really good, the crazy kids disco had the little ones running around and dancing etc. Claudia and Jorge are lovely aswell, really friendly. We stayed at the hotel a few nights for the entertainment although we constantly went to 'casablanca' which is literally straight up the road from the hotel and the first bar/restaurant you see! was brilliant in there, as its an english bar and held brilliant entertainment and bingo every night, and jackie in there is hillarious, and a great singer too!! we saw a really funny drag queen in there which had us in stitches! honestly if you go here you will not be dissapointed! .We were leaving nereida on the 19th of june although our flight technically was friday morning. And the all inclusive finishes at midday on the day of departure. So we went and complained as we werent leaving untill half 11 at night, And we got told we were aloud lunch and dinner but not aloud any drinks! (but we sneaked a couple of glasses of water from the machine as they cant expect us not to have a drink in that heat and by this time we had no money left to buy anything!) So technically we had payed all inclusive from the 6th -19th and we didnt arrive until 3am on the 7th and our flight home was at ten to 2 on the 20th so we missed days of our all inclusive. This is a really lovely hotel and if i went again i would go self catering. There is loads to do away from the hotel as well there is a road full of bars and restaurants which is great, but the bars are more for the youngsters! Me and my boyfriend spent alot of time and money there!!, You can also get a taxi boat across to san antonio which costs 2 euro 50. And san antonio is amazing for its night life! over all a nice place to go but trust me when i say dont go all inclusive! i most probably would return as got really close to the hotel staff and its a nice relaxing place to be.
