“Mar amantis 1 is a really lovely hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

We were very pleased with this hotel but we were very fortunate to be placed in mar amantis 1 as mar amantis 2 was full of drunken rowdy people.

Food- we stayed all inclusive and we were happy with the quality and the variety of food on offer, we had always found something we wanted to eat, and it wasn't unknown for us to have 5 plates each at each meal. They always had chips, salad and pasta for dinner and tea, and always a full English breakfast for breakfast. Along with that they sereved pancakes, steaks, fish, tuna steak, muscles, chicken in different sauces; we really did believe that they had something to suit everyone.

Drinks- There was a vast amount of free drinks, from soft drinks, hot drinks, coctails, spirits ect. All though if you weren't on all inclusive we believed that 5 euros for a small alcoholic drink was over priced.

Staff- all staff were very friendly in mar amantis 1, they all really made your stay pleasurable.

Other guests- we were worried about our hotel just being filled with young people going out partying every night as it was San Antonio however mar amantis 1 was so relaxed, and was filled with couples and families and a few younger people. However mar amantis 2 was full of younger people.

The room- the room was basic, you needed to put down a deposit for the remote, but if your English there is no point bothering as there are only 2 english channels, both the news. The rooms were always really clean and we had a lovely view from our balcony. The beds are comfortable and there is a fully working air conditioning system.

The area- the hotel is situated on the bay so that you are looking onto the san antonio strip, easy to get their either by walking or by water taxi. You are close enough to experiance the livelier side of san Antonio but at the same time far enough away to get some peace and relax if that's what you want. The beaches are not very big but they are not crowded so you would always be able to find room. There are tones of water activities that you can do from just outside the hotel, all reasonable priced, there are also loads of restaurants and bars which you can visit if you don't want to go to the west end which is more suited to families, we really loved ocean which has just been built.

Snacks- snacks are only served in mar amantis 2 however if you are at mar amantis 1 you can still get them. The snack are not of the same quality as the meals, but they are left to just one person. Still there is quite a large variety on offer.

Entertainment- unfortunately we didn't realises that there was any entertainment as we spent all of our time in mar amantis 1, as they didn't advertise the entertainment we had no idea. All entertainment and activities are held in mar amantis 2, although mar amantis 1 customers can use it they may not be aware of what is on offer.

Activities- the activities although free to use they only are availiable on select times on select days, and are only in mar amantis 2. There is also no advertisement of these activities in hotel 1.

We really did have a lovely time here and would love to go back, however we would only do so if we were garenteed a place on mar amantis 1.

Me (20) & My Boyfriend (24) stayed for a week in Mar Amantis 1. We wanted to stay in this hotel after reading reports of the other one. The hotel was clean & nice. The only thing was the food was OK. Some of the days the only thing we liked was chips.. We ate out a few times, once at Tulp which if you walk along the front towards San An. its a beach bar, the food there was great we had 2mains and a cocktail and beer and it was €28. Another day we went to Ibiza Rocks Bar and had ribs (very much like TGI fridays). We also went to Cafe Mambo but was too busy so we went to Savannahs just next to it. The food there was quite pricey but was really nice and is worth going to see the sun set.
On the first day we went across to the orher hotel as there were no sunbeds at the one we was staying at. we got there around 11am and it was very full and rowdy.. Everyone was drunk but wasnt too much trouble. All the other days we stayed around our pool, which looked onto the beach. We never had breakfast, as it didnt look nice at all so we
went just out of the hotel an you turn left they do a nice breakfast for €5. The snack bar is across at the other hotel, the pizza is really nice! Dont have chicken nuggets! they are black inside!
All in all it was a good holiday, and we did enjoy it. the room was clean and the service was good. we would go b

We have just come back from Mar Amantis & we had a bit of a mixed stay.
First of all I will talk about the food which was a low point although there is something on the menu that will keep suit but it's serve warm tasteless and unimaginative.
Then the was the tale of how my wife had her bag stolen from around the pool of the hotel yes the hotel. Beware of bathing at Mar Amantis 1 was it is very close to the main path on the beach & it is not hard to reach over the wall of the hotel and help oneself to any items of value. This is mentioned nowhere in the hotel or when you are booking it so be warned. Staff offered very little help & support but that's another story.
The hotel can get quite rowdy when groups of youffs come in from there night out waking up whole corridors at a time, and the entertainment is amongst the worst we've seen.
The plus side was rooms were very clean and well kept. Hotel was in a superb location the view from the hotel over looking the bay is priceless. Drinks tasted decent although bar staff had no urgency at all.
We wil be going back in September as its a case of better the devil you know & you get what you pay for I suppose.

Room Tip: Stay at hotel 1 the other is too noisy

just got back on sat 24.6,2012, after spending two brilliant weeks on holiday with 36.family members. we all went out to ibiza for my sister in laws 60th birthday and there ruby wedding anniversary.the hotel were once again, and may i say not for the first time very good to all of us. i and most of my family use this hotel all the time and have (never) had a bad time there the staff go out there way to be kind and helpfull, the food is always supperb the azuline group of hotels are also great. as i said at the begining of my report there were 36 of us age ranging from 7 up to 65 every body including those that had not been before were given a room on the same floor all with sea veiws.i would also like to say a big thanks to salverdore who runs the sa flama resturant which is part of the azuline groupfor a great supprise party we had for my sister in laws ruby wedding out of this world and what a beautiful location right on the beach with a wonderful sun set food was amazing and very reasonably priced .(very highly recommended for any celebration) some people moan about the entrtainment for children i must admit it is very limited but lets not forget you are on an island and most of the other hotels struggle for childrens entertainers. i can suggest after the evening entertainment is over try the mini golf bar down the road ,antonio the bar man is a great bloke and if the kids dont like the golf, there are pool tables little rides and two big trampolines which are completely free of charge, most of the rides are only 1 euro .the golf bar is just past the buckanero bar also recomended is the sun and moon bar for a good sing song and good entrtainment all though you may have seen most of the entertainment on the hotel because has i said earlier on it is a small island and most the entertainers do all the hotels and local bars so your choice is limited.iend by saying yet again thanks a million times to all the staff ,rosa mariaand all the very hardworking resturant staff look forward to seeing you all again in september. i hope this report is of some help to any body deciding which hotel to stay at .it is my unbiased oppinon an if you do go the maramantis i hope you enjoy it as much as i and my family do

We stayed at the Mar Amantis 2 from 10 June 2012 for a week. The rooms were very clean and the maid came every day and changed the towels. The food in the restaurant was in 1 and this was also very good, plenty of variety and plenty of places to sit. The snack bar in no 2 was open from 10am to 630pm which we used a few times daily, the pizza, chips and ham and cheese toasties were fab! All staff were so friendly and professional and very welcoming. You could get 2 drinks at a time each and you never had to que. The evening entertainment was good and the lady singer was fab. There are loads of sunbeds and lots of space to sun bathe without feeling cramped. Reception will also phone you a taxi. We went to the west end which is only 6 euros. There is a gym and internet and arcade games in the hotel and aerobics and sports in the day. We will definitely be going back there next June if not sooner, and would recommend to friends and also any families or couples or young groups. This was our third time in san antonio bay and this was the best place to stay.

Just returned from a 7 nights stay at the Mar Amantis with a group of lads and I dont really have an complaints at all (Apart from one moody female bar tender). The General mood of the staff was great and there was never any issues if we needed any queries answered. The reps where great and informed us all the available night out we could attend, if we had wished to, and also sorted us tickets for one of the opening parties. The standard of food was top notch we thought. Full english, cereals or continental breakfast, plenty of choice at both lunch and dinner with a varied salad bar, grill and mains. While we where staying in the hotel the majority of residents where older couples and groups, young couples and families. Hotel number 2's pool was bussier than number 1 and therefore a bit louder but we spent a lot of time at number 1 relaxing in the small pool. From what we gathered the entertainment for the kids and at night times wasn't brilliant but as we didnt really watch a great deal of it I dont have a lot to go by.
I would definately go back to this hotel. Its quiet enough for families and the more mature traveller yet close enough ( 20 minutes walk or 5 min Taxi 6 euros) to the west end bars.

Hope this was help full we had a great holiday and thinking of going back in september for the end of the season.

Ruben the bar tender is a King amoungst men, hilarious chap!

Room Tip: In Mar Amantis II the room facing the entertainment area were very quiet after 1130 but you do get t...
