We chose this hotel due to an excellent all inclusive price and a perceived good location. Some of the reviews we read were indifferent but we decided to go ahead with the booking.
Overall the hotel was well above expectations. Our room was clean and comfortable, although it would benefit from a fresh coat of paint. The food was generally excellent both in terms of quantity and quality. There was always a large selection catering for all tastes including fresh salads, seafood and meats. There was always fresh fruit at each meal. The pool area was fantastically clean and had about 100 sun-loungers so no need to put the towel out at night! The toilets around the pool were also spotless and the pool bar was excellent, offering a good selection of drinks, ice creams and snacks.
The location was only 1 minute walk from a sandy beach and 10 minutes walk from the main beach at the resort. There are bus stops outside the hotel which will take you to San Antonio, Ibiza town and some wonderful local beaches (we recommend Cala Tarida). The noisy centre of San Antonio was 20 mins walk and Cafe Mambo/ Del Mar were 25 mins around the bay, however this was a beautiful walk in the evening and well worth it to see the most amazing sunset.
In summary, if you want 5 star luxury - don't stay here. If you want a comfortable, clean, well appointed hotel, away from the noise - Hotel Bergantin is for you.

my boyfriend and i got back from staying at this hotel on the 16th may this year. i was a little worried before i went as i had read some of the previous reviews and some i was a little worried about!
The hotel was very clean and tidy, maids came everyday to make the bed, change towels and supply more toilet roll. the food wasnt the best, but it was what u would expect from a 3 star hotel! a few people complain but u have got 2 remember it is only a 3 star and certainly not the ritz!! u get what u pay for and i cant imagine alot of people pay alot of money to stay here! The pools are very clean and yes the floor surrounding can get very slippery so watch out! There was alot of families with young children here and also alot of foreigners, which at times can get very noisey late at night but u tel me a place abroad where u go to bed and there isnt one night where there isnt any noise!! The bar does close at 11 but there are some decent places to have a good drink near the hotel, such as Pink Panther and the Rodeo fun park! The surrounding bars are mainly british bars and i would recommend goin to the Rodeo Fun park, there are pool tables, a Bull to ride, games for the kids etc and they also have quizzes and bingo every night! we went here nearly every night!
The entertainment in the Hotel was ok, apparently one of the girls that use to do it packed up the stuff and walked out, takin some of the staff with her and all of the equipment etc with her so when we was there they were just about getting things back on track!
Most of the staff seemed friendly, checking in was very quick and easy aswell. There was just one bar-man (he is quite skinny, big ears and very cocky, so watch out for him!) who was never behind the bar, always off doing something else and then huffed and puffed when he had to come and serve! i recommend getting a few drinks at a time when he is serving because u might be waiting a long time!! i dont see many problems with this hotel, alot of the staff work very hard to keep it going and unfortunately u cant please everyone!
All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the bergantin, there are a few minor hitches but as i say for a 3 star hotel u cant complain!
It is 15 minute walk to the town, it is very clean and tidy, the pools are great and plenty of sun loungers, there are pool tables, table tennis, a gym and also a sauna/steam room etc and its all inclusive! But the main thing is, you arent at home, or at work, or worriyng about bills or anything else that bothers u whilst at home!! what really is there to complain about??

“As you would expect”

Hotel Bergantin

I went here in July with my boyfiredn. It was a last minute cheap deal. All inclusive aspect was fine. The food was ok, nothing special, but then it's not a five star hotel!

My only real compliant was about the air conditioning, or as it turned out, lack of air conditioning in the rooms. I'm not sure if this was a general problem or simply in our room, but it didn't get sorted during our stay and didn't really look like they had any intention of doing so.

Other than the air con, the rooms themselves were of a good standard. Furniture and decoration was basic but clean and in good condition. Bathrommm was also spotless.

Pools are fantastic but can get very busy. I'm not the worlds biggest fan of children and there were millions of them but I appreciate that won't be a problem for many.
Also the hotel has a wide mixture of nationalities. Mainly German and French. This didn't bother us at all, but if you are looking to meet up with lots of Brits then I'd choose somewhere else.

As for location, it's out of the way of all the major noise and drunk people which suited us perfectly. Surrounding area was clean and well kept.

We enjoyed our holiday. The hotel is nothing special, but exactly at the standard you would expect for its rating. Would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to ohters.

Me and my boyfriend and three friends stayed at this hotel back in june and had a great time.4 of us are travel agents and have stayed in all inclusive hotels around the world and the Bergantin is a great 3star all inclusive.

Checkin -is a breeze it took 10 mins to get to our rooms

Hotel rooms- The rooms are clean and are average size for an all inclusive, the sheets and towles were changed everday. there is a hairdryer in the bathroom and a tv which is mostly spanish but your not on holiday too watch the tv.

Staff- the staff are realy friendly but a please and a thankyou go along way some people spoke to the staff awfully and wondered why they didnt get the best service. i never had a problem with the staff at all.

Food and drink- I am a realy fussy eater but i found something to eat most days there was the odd day when i have lunch down at Donnegans (they have the best home made pies). The hotel had a big selection from meat to salads i found breakfast to be the best. You have to remember this is a 3* not a 5*.
The drinks were great and very strong they realy are generous with there spirits.

Location- this hotel is located in the bay which is nice to be a little bit away from the night life. There a couple of bars 2 minsdown the road and san antonios a 15 mins walk but its a nice walk. There were some reviews moaning about drunk young people, i had no problems with this i had more of a problem with families that couldnt keep there kids under control you know what i mean they look like they should be in Skeggy but i suppose your gona get this when there only 2 allinclusive hotels on the island .
All in all this a great hotel id give it 9 out of ten and i will probaly go again next summer.

“Not a great experience.”

Hotel Bergantin

Oct 9, 2007

I can honestly say that this was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. There are many reasons for this and I will give you a brief outline of the reasons why...

1. The food was revolting. Everything looked like it had been deep fat fried and the soup looked suspiciously like cup-a-soup in a large vat. Most alarming of all was the fact that the children's buffet was made up of crisps(!!!), chicken nuggets and a few leaves of soggy salad. Ended up eating out for most of the holiday.

2. The drinks stopped at 11-not just alcholic drinks but even juice, tea and water! All you were able to get after 11 was overpriced drinks from the hotel vending machine. Or you had to go to the local shops.

3. The staff were rude and unfriendly. Didn't want to help at all.

4. The room was awful-paper thin walls and in the bathroom there was a grid which you could look through into the neighbours bathroom. Also the divides between the balconies are not safe. And the T.V was broken-when mentioned to the recption staff they just shrugged. Same response when we asked to move rooms as we were also above the restaurant and couldn't open the balcony door because of the nasty smells of greasy food.

5.Pool area overcrowded and the floor is VERY slippery when it gets wet.

6. Entertainment diabolical. Mostly all in German.

It's such a shame as this hotel could probably be quite o.k but there are too many things which are letting it down at the moment. I would seriously think twice before you book a holiday here!
