My boyfriend and I spent 3 days in Ibiza last summer. The hotel was a great deal. We booked it on Orbitz. Hotel Es Pla was clean and convenient. It wasn't located in Ibiza Town -- the main part of the island for dinner, shopping, major clubs, and crowds -- but it was close enough to some of the (not so good) restaurants and smaller clubs. There's a boardwalk nearby and a place to rent cars and motorbikes just down the street.
Our hotel room wasn't spacious, but we didn't spend much time in the room so it was fine. Our room had a balcony that looked out on the pool.
There is a continental breakfast included in your stay, which was great after a long night out. The hotel staff was very brusque in rushing us out on the day we were leaving, but considering the amount we paid and the fact that it was peak tourist time for them, I understood that they had the clean the room for the next group of guests.
All in all, we were very happy with the hotel, though we might try to stay in Ibiza Town next time to get a different feel for the island.

A friend & I stayed here from 25 Aug to 1 Sep 2006.

Room was slightly smaller than average and there were no sea views, but the location more than made up for this - Es Pla is located only 5 minutes walk away from Es Paradis, Club Eden and the West End bars, clubs & restaraunts (and the taxi rank!). However, it was far enough away that you couldn't hear any noise and there was no problem getting some sleep at any time of day or night.

Room was in a good state of decorative order and a decent-size room safe was available (I just can't understand the stupid people who don't use room safes then complain when things go missing). The shower head kept coming off the wall, but that was the only problem we had. Maid did a good job of keeping the room clean throughout our stay.

The food was about average - hot food was a little tasteless but the salads were fine. Not a great selection, but chips were always available!

Hotel staff were friendly & helpful and were OK with us inviting friends up to the room. Most hotels in San An are VERY strict on this so we were very happy about that one.

Pool/patio area was nice and clean, but we didn't go there much.

The hotel is advertised as a 3-Star, but to be fair it was just a nice 2-Star. Since we only paid 2-Star rates for our stay here, this wasn't a problem to us.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Es Pla to anyone, as long as they bear in mind that it's really a 2-Star hotel and not 3-Star as advertised.

Good for couples & singles who want lots of action on their doorstep, while still wanting to be able to get some sleep now and again!

I took my partner away for her 30th birthday and also to propose to her watching the sunset at mambo. All went well and we were having a great time there. the hotel was fine, food OK and the bar staff helpfull. Then on the last day we go to the pool, come back to a tidy room, a job well done by the maids, and the ring had disappeared. This is when the staff suddenly cannot speak English and can only say 'police'. this was the start of a long day which could and should have been avoided had the matter been looked into i.e. see who cleaned the room and get the damn ring off her!!!!!!
this didnt get sorted and the Thomsons rep didnt give a damn so this totally spoiled the holiday!!
then when packing we realsied that a bottle of aftershave, perfume and a lip gloss?? had gone missing aswell.
so as long as the safety box in your room is the size of your suitcase then get yourself there, if not dont go coz nothing is safe!!!!!!!!!!
