After a dilema of where to go on holiday me and my two best friends decided on Ibiza and the Ibiza Rocks Hotel in the hopes that it would live up to its high expectations. And we were not dissapointed! We were imediately impressed with the hotel upon entry and only had a short wait for check in. The meeting with the club rep later that day was very useful and we really enjoyed the free sangria! Although the rooms were small it wasnt a problem as we had the best view as our balcony overlooked the main pool. We found the club reps to be friendly and very helpful if not a bit pushy for us to spend spend spend! After the first night we were left a little disgruntled as we realised air con was a must but so so expensive! Luckily for us however our neighbours knew how to get it switched on for free! So I advise everyone to use our little trick of lifting up the cover and inside is a tiny button wich can be pushed in with any small instrument (our favourite being a sharp knife for some reason!) and you have instant free air con!
The location of the hotel is fantastic and the west end is only a short walk away where there are plenty of decent drink deals so there is no need to spend a fortune! The onsite shop is a bit of a rip off but we did find bottles of wine for a mere euro fourty!! And spent the rest of the holiday searching for the rumoured 60cents bottle! The pool djs were fantastic and played a really good mix of music although at 11.30am after only a few hours sleep you werent really impressed!! The addition of the 3rd quieter pool is a really good idea and was amazing for the horrible hangover days! One thing which is a must is to watch the sunset it really is amazing!
The atmosphere was unreal in the hotel and everywhere else in fact! Overall it was really well worth the money and we had the best two weeks with nothing really to complain about! The only bad points about the hotel would be the maids who were really very rude and made us tidy our rooms! Also the prices within the hotel were really steap! Other than that it was just perfect!
If your going to Ibiza this really is the best hotel to stay in!

Travelled to Ibiza in September 2008, an arrived at the ibiza Rocks on Wed 10th, 1st impressions of the hotel were favourable, given some of the reviews we had seen prior to leaving with regard to excessive noise and large groups, although its Ibiza so i guess you kind of expect that.

All over the reception area are notices advising that loud noise and shouting from balconies will not be tolerated after mid night and offenders will be asked to leave, these notices where obviously a waste of paper ! (although we did hear about some geordie guys who were kicked out and then let back in a day later after paying 100€ fine !)

Anyways back to the hotel, air conditioning was a must, although at 84€ for two weeks plus paying for the safe in our room (again a must if you read some other reviews) we spent over 100€ within minutes of checking in. You kinda get the feeling for a hotel by how much deposit they take, previous hotels have been nice and taken 150€ plus deposits this hotel only took 60€. Also at our welcome meeting this the first hotel I have ever stayed in were they provided us with a sheet to list everything that was broken in the room, so we listed a few problems the main been a leaking tap and faulty cooker hood, which we were told would be repaired with 48 hours! when we checked out on september 24th neither had been fixed, Alot of people in the hotel also during our stay wer affected by cold / flu like symptons (2 out of 3 in our room included), possibly to do with the air conditioning.

In the room its self we had large damp patch the corner of the ceiling. We specifically asked for a pool view which the evening we arrived was fine until 830 the next morning when the hotel started to erect a stage in front of our room for the xbox weekender which remained in place for TEN days. The events in the hotel were all amazing especially the Cuban Brothers!

Dont get me wrong wrong my friends and i like goin out and having a drink and a good time but when ya get in at 530-600 it nice to try and get some sleep, and not have geordies and glaswegians fighting with each other in the pool !, also people knocking on ya room selling tickets from like 4pm virtually everyday were quite annouying!

The hotel facilities were pretty much spot on although we never used the pool in two weeks preffering the beach, (Calla Basa is a must if you want beach with cystal clear waters) take the boat over from the harbour 8€ return, (although if ya go over there a few times then the no. 4 bus also goes there for 1.20€ and takes bout 15-20 mins)

Hotel location is amazing, Fatso's for breakfast is a must (left out the hotel, left again and follow the road to the cross roads).
the hotel supermarket was adequately stocked all though not that cheap, try the Eroski or Hippo Centro (right out the hotel and follow the road about 200 yards, cheaper than the hotel supermarket for everything including drink).

Hotel also charges 3% to cash travellers cheques, (try la sirena, near Fatso's or the main sq both cash cheques for free of charge)

All in all a good holiday, but on hind sight when we paid the extra for the air con and safe on top of what we paid for the holiday we could have stayed in a more expensive hotel which included these, and not as good as previous hotel we stayed in (The Bahia in San An Bay) of the two i would recommend that to the Ibiza Rocks EVERYTIME with out a doubt.

This was my 3rd year staying at Club Paraiso, now Ibiza rocks, and once again it didn't dissapoint.

The big change has been that once a week instead of having dance music they have been having Ibiza rocks day, I think it was a Tuesday, where in the evenings they get bands in or alternative music, but apart from that its still pretty much dance music around the pool all day everyday. If you like your sleep this is NOT the hotel to come to, if you love partying hard til 8am and dont mind getting much sleep this is the play to be.

The hotel is a 2min walk from the West End, the main strip where all the bars and pubs are. Its crazy there with PR's everywhere trying to get to into their bars, it can be annoying but you get used to it and in the end just ignore them.

Its about a 5 minute walk from the bay, where there are plenty of things going on in the day eg watersports.

The Rep's at the hotel will try and sell you a package of all sorts of nights out- I woudnt reccommend it. I did it my first year and it was a waste of money, your better off doing your own thing and not getting commited to anything. You'll find much better bar crawls, boat parties/booze cruises, run on the island which are much cheaper and definitley better than what the Reps organise.

Not all rooms in the hotel are pool facing. There are 2 pools, the crazy nuts larger pool and the quieter chillout pool.
If you like some sleep then you wont mind being non pool facing, but if you dont want to miss out on the amazing atmosphere the hotel offers then you definitley need to try and request a pool view room.

When we got there this year we were facing a street at the side of the hotel, missing all the atmosphere and action.
Plus!!.... For example this year on the Tuesday we were there Sam Sparro and Dizzee Rascal were playing on the Ibiza rocks day at the pool. If you dont have a pool view room the hotel have the cheek to charge you 40 euros!! to gain entry to the pool area to be able to watch them!...but people with a pool view get to watch it all for free from the comfort of their balconies.
Make sure you dont get caught out by this. We ended up changing rooms the first day we were there and it was the best 40euros ive ever spent haha! Not only did we get the atmosphere of the pool everyday but we got to watch the Radio1 Weekend which is based at Ibiza rocks, from our balcony, it was amazing.

The staff are ok, some are nice some hate tourists, and for some reason especially british ones. Some of the cleaners arent very nice and shout at you in Spanish when you dont know what youve dont wrong, but you get used to it and just shout back in English haha.
We dont eat at the hotel as theres not much choice, theres a fantastic cafe called Ohios around the corner of the hotel where most people go, its super cheap compared to the usual prices in ibiza and they are really friendly.

Make sure you take PLENTY of spending money, most people take £800+ for 2 weeks, some people need over £1000. I easily spend £1000 there in 2 weeks, and that wasnt even doing clubs every night. The bars are cheap like 10 euros all you can drink etc but the clubs are very expensive.
Not many people i know buy drinks there, its about 18 euros for a vodka red bull.... :/

Most clubs average about 50 euros a night which is expensive but worth it. Amnesia is def not one to be missed especially if you can get the for Radio 1 night because thats amazing.

Be careful in the hotel because security can be very strict, not as strict as when it was paraiso but you need key cards to get in and out of the hotel sometimes and they do spot checks so you need to take them out with you.

You use your keycard to buy food and drinks in the hotel so remember to claim back any money you have left on your card at the end. (they dont allow your own drinks by the pool but if your sneaky you can get away with it)
Safety deposit boxes and air con has to be paid for, however lots of people I know ;) fiddle the air con with a knife or something because it works out expensive to have it for 2 weeks and you need it.

Cant think of much else apart from to say it has its hiccups but this is definitly THE hotel to stay in, in Ibiza if you can get in. Been here 3 times, loved it everytime, it may be more expensive but if you love partying this is the only place to stay. Be prepared for lots of randomness, meeting gangs of fantastic people and above all be prepared to party in the best place in the world!! :D

  • Liked — Atmosphere around the crazy pool!
  • Disliked — That you have to pay to get back into the pool area to see the big acts on the Ibiza Rocks day!

I'd read all the reviews before I came so I knew what to expect regarding noise etc. I was part of a group of 6 lads in their late twenties early thirties so we have calmed down a bit over the years but fancied the big clubs and chill-out bars more than the hustle & bustle of the West End.
As this is a review about the hotel I'll stick mainly to that.
The que to to check in was huge, mainly due to the fact that there are plenty of large groups checking in.When we did eventually check in I was told our room wouldn't be ready for another 2 hours, ok fair enough I thought so had a few beers around the main pool. When we did go to get in the room the maids sent us away & told us to come back in another 2 hours. Luckily they were sound & put our cases in a cleaning cubbard while we went and had a few more beers. When we did get our rooms they were pretty basic, ours was near the concrete 5-a-side football pitch & was a decent size, the other 3 lads had a room facing the road which was tiny. They were ok for getting your head down so I aint going 2 moan about them. As we were away from the main pool we didnt hear any music, the only noise we had were people coming back in the early hours but that was expected. The main pool has a good vibe 2 it & is busy which means you will be lucky 2 get a sunbed, you have more of a chance getting 1 at the quieter pool which still is busy & plays music but is a bit more chilled out & smaller. The hotel itself has a brilliant lay-out and has loads of x-boxes(not all control pads work) & a few pc's, the reception area is spacious & looks good. There is always a guard/hotel staff on the door & u usually have 2 have your key on you 2 get back in. Location wise its spot-on, 5 mins walk from West End and 10 mins from beach & Bar M etc & then prob 5 mins in a different direction to Cafe Mambo. Strange thing was that out of the 6 of us, 4 of us got flu/cold which ment that they couldnt even move out of their bed. When sitting round the pool everybody was coughing, could it be something 2 do with the air-con???? cant be sure. Anyway 2 summarise it, its a top hotel, location is quality, staff are ok(ish), rooms are small & you will have to put up with large groups.

me and my friend stayed at this hotel last week, got back yesterday morning and the only word to describe this holiday was amazing!! we had a few minor problems when we arrived, we requested a high floor but was out on the ground floor, which worked out better in the end cuz we just hopped over the balcony to our sunbeds :) it was a great convo started cuz pepole over the corridor would knock and walk through! the maids are very grumpy and one told us off for the mess, she gave us 5 minutes to wash our pots too!! some reviews conplained about the reception staff but we found them very helpful, by the end of the week they knew our room number as we complained alot about our cooker! top tip...dont get the hob plates wet from the sink as it will blow the fuse in your apartment!
the atmosphere in the hotel is wicked, there is a live dj playing everyday and it gives you such a buzz for the night ahead.
id recomend doing es paradis for the water party as it was one of the best nights! dont take no phones or cameras as the water comes up to your chest! eden is another amazing club...judgement sundays is a must!!
we had a room by the main pool and the music does wake you. i took ear plugs so it wasnt too bad! but your in ibiza..you dont need to sleep! in a week we got 19hrs sleep!! be prepared to go bed at 8 am and be up at 11am!
the west end is only a 5min walk away although we got quite confused walking back after the night out! you will get hassaled by pr's but just tell them you are looking round and they arnt too bad! we went to a bar called 'that bar' 6 times, one of the best to get you drunk!! and the pr's there are great :)
take a stroll down to 'bar m' before you go amnessia..get a stamp and hop on the disco bus for free..then off to manumission for another amazing night...girls wear flip flops not heals!! we learnt the hard way!!
do take a mosquito plug with you as we got bit up alot! on our last day we chilled by the quiet pool on big 4 poster sunbeds for a last minute snooze before the flight! it is nice by that pool but abit boring! all in all an absolutly amazing holiday..the best one ive had by far! will definately be going back next year but for longer!! feeling rather depressed to be home but im already looking for prices :) see you all there!! xxxx

WELL...where do i start??? Check is was fast, room was ready, i really did dread getting there after reading reviews of people not getting their room until hours after arriving.
Hotel itself looks clean and well presented upon arrival, UNTIL we opened the door to our room, the list was endless for the rep, and the worst thing about our room...and anyone who has stayed in 125 will know...there were about 10-15 holes in the ceiling above the shower. Now, you know deep down that its another room above you and that they wont have holes in their floor looking down on you...but why the hell were they there? Other guests obviously felt the same as some had (unsuccessfully) tried to fill them with loo roll....unnerving to say the least. The living/bedroom area had a huge damp patch on the ceiling spreading down the wall...i could go on forever!
Me and my partner do like going out...dont get me wrong...but not until 7-7.30 in the morning which is what alot of the people on our side of the hotel were doing. It seemed to be full of groups of blokes who wanted to see how much beer they could drink and how many women they could bed. It was awful listening to them shouting obscenities to the women walking on the street, and calling them s**ts if they didnt answer or gave them as good as they got.
Around the pool was dirty, and the actual pool was jus as bad, each time we got out of the pool we stank, and needed to shower, and at this moment in time we are awaiting the drs verdict on our rash that we have since got from being there.
It was that bad that we actually spent £250 on tickets to come home early.
Apart from the bad bits, the hotel is in a good place in san antonio, pretty much at the top of the west end, and across from Cafe del Mar etc.
I would NEVER recommend this hotel, or ever consider going back to it.

  • Liked — Absolutey NOTHING
  • Disliked — The rash i am left with from the pool.
