“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

I won a holiday to stay here with 3 friends I knew this hotel was good, I just didnt realise how good! Won the holiday through Thomsons, got the inflight meal, private transfer (groooovy little disco mini bus) and then when we got to the hotel, we were blown away! It is so clean and tidy! The deco was beautiful, staff were great. Choice of noisy pool or chill out pool which was great depending on if you were still drunk or recovering! The reps were fab too, always kept you on your toes and this was good to keep the hangover away! Securtiy on the door 24/7, this is great as if there wasnt youd have anything coming in, they are quite strict tho as you can imagine they deal with a lot of drunk idiots all day everyday, same with the police they wont think twice about braying you to the floor so behave! The food was good but we usually went out for food and the drinks were pricey! theres a supermarket down the road so stock up with stuff from there not the ibiza rocks shop! All in all a fantastic holiday! cant wait to do it again! p.s We travelled in September 2011 for the closing parties, just let it a little late for the review!

Room Tip: Use the supermarket down the road for food and drinks not the Ibiza Rocks shop! And if you like a bi...

“Honest review of Ibiza Rocks Hotel - Ibiza! <3”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

Me and my 4 friends have just come back from our second girls holiday to Ibiza (16-23 September 2012). We had such a good time and I cannot recommend going to Ibiza with a group of friends enough. I am giving the Ibiza Rocks Hotel 4 out of 5 for the following reasons.

Bad points first...

The reception is cool but the rooms are fairly average. The third bed is a pull out mattress which was, accordingly to my friend, absolutely fine. The rooms are a decent size and the balcony is too. Plenty of room for pre-drinking and dancing!

You have to pay for the air con (€6 per night and you have to pay for a minimum of 3 nights) which we didn’t do for a few nights but getting ready in that heat is hard word so we decided to pay for it and it was definitely worth it but this should be included in the price.

The cleaner didn’t do a very good job. Room got “cleaned” a few times and sheets were changed once I think but the floor was so dirty we couldn’t walk on it barefoot and the toilet was so disgusting that we had to buy some bleach and a toilet block and clean it ourselves as it hadn’t had a good clean in a long time!

The situation with the pools is this: the main pool is packed full of posers (why we renamed it “Poser Pool”). The DJ on the stage all day is good and the music was good but the posing was too much for us. There are girls wearing full sets of eyelashes in the day and no one went for a swim as it wasn’t cool! Don’t get me wrong, I do love a set of false eyelashes but me and my friends are much more relaxed in the day, especially when you’re hungover and knackered from the partying! We was so pleased to find what we called “Reject Pool” on the other side of the hotel which is definitely full of more normal people! Without this pool I’m not sure what we would have done.

The bar at the Reject Pool pool is ok but there wasn’t much choice of food. The most annoying thing is that you have to top your room key card up with money to pay for everything you want in the hotel and when I left I still had some on mine (which I should’ve spent but forgot and couldn’t get this back).

Good points...

Less of the moaning. I would highly recommend staying here despite my above comments. We had such a fun week. The gigs are included in the price which is quality. We saw Two Door Cinema Club and Mark Ronson/Zane Lowe DJing which was quality! The hotel has an amazing atmosphere at night when the gigs are on. There is a good Ibiza Rocks shop and supermarket just outside the hotel entrance. The hotel felt fairly safe and there were always security guards at the door and only people staying at the hotel were allowed in.

I can’t recommend David’s restaurant enough! Every single one of us absolutely loved it. Last year we practically ate there every single night and this year we done the same (apart from a few nights elsewhere and had rubbish food so kept going back to David’s)! It is only a short walk from the West End and the food quality is amazing. There is a wide range of things to chose from and the portions are so huge that we could never finish. They let you take the leftovers home which is amazing when you get back to your room in the early hours drunk! Cannot recommend enough: bread and aloilo starter, the carbonara (best one we’ve EVER tried!), the calzones/pizzas, the salmon and the chicken is beautiful too) and they have different specials throughout the week. The ice cream they serve there is so nice too! The prices here are mostly the same as what you’d pay for dinner everywhere else near the West End and the better quality food is so obvious.

Also, a must do is Cafe Mambo. We went twice to see the sunset and it really is beautiful to see the sunset there. There are some really good songs being played there, quite a chilled atmosphere and everyone claps when the sun has gone down!

Also, go to the Sports Cafe and say hello to the male toilet attendant who we have made friends with 2 years running now. We have called him "Afrojack" as he had a massive afro last year but a shaved head this year and we almost didn't recognise him!

Overall, another amazing holiday to Ibiza and would definitely go back as Ibiza never fails to disappoint. I would stay in the Ibiza Rocks hotel again as despite the bad points (nothing is perfect) it is a quality hotel but you just have to realise that you’re paying for the experience and not the quality of the rooms!

Hi Lottie

Thanks for your detailed review of Ibiza Rocks - any feedback we receive helps us to better our product in the future.

Your point regarding the cleaning would have been addressed should it have been raised to a member of our Host Team or reception in resort. The cleaners aim to visit each room at least four times over a seven day period.

We aim to provide a pool-side atmosphere for all of our clients which is why we have one area where our daily pool parties are held and a separate pool which provides a more chilled out environment to sleep off the night before.

Hopefully we will see you again in 2013.

“Great hotel!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012 via mobile

Stayed here 15-22 September had an amazing time! Hotel was basic in terms of accommodation but you don't want anything amazing in Ibiza as you're rarely in your room. Gigs were fantastic and part of the price. Great music all day long. The food was rubbish quality and overpriced, drinks were overpriced but hey there's a supermarket down the road to stock up for your room!

Room didn't get cleaned once just fresh towels every 3 days and we were up and out the room by 1030 every day.

Overall I totally enjoyed my stay here but was overpriced and overrated. Think they just rely on the name to be honest. Could get a lot more for your money elsewhere in San Antonio!

One major downside is you have to pay for air conditioning even though you've paid top end for basic accommodation.

Despite this I had an amazing time and I'd still recommend the hotel but personally wouldn't go back to this hotel perhaps for gigs but stay elsewhere in a hotel that offers more for your money!

Hi

Thanks for your review of Ibiza Rocks Hotel - it's always good to hear what our customers say so we can look to improve our product for the future.

We regularly check our pricing is in line with other hotels in the local area and air-conditioning is commonly an additional charge when at the hotel.

“Great holiday! Excellent Venue! Average rooms, poor security”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

me and 3 friends stayed here for 10 days, the beds/towels/bins were changed 3 times, the cleaner also kept our door unlocked which was worrying, but lucky for us i only left the room for 10 minutes then came back and it was unlocked by the cleaner. If you don't expect a high standard then you wont be disappointed! The hotel rooms are a bit outdated but the hotel as a venue was amazing, I would definitely opt to get a stage view room (or just find some people to gatecrash!) The reps were actually crap, and its ashame thomson/first choice dont have their own reps because at least then you could actually get some resort information from them, as the ibiza rocks reps only care about ticket sales and hitting targets! Ask them anything that doesnt concern commission and they could not give two hoots!
I didnt feel comfortable going in either of the pools as its just full of posers but there are some amazing beaches, cala gracio is a nice one, i would get a taxi there, as we were told it was 15/20min walk, but didn't get there till 40 minutes later! i would still go back to ibiza rocks, it was worth the money as the location is smack bang in the middle of everything you need.

Room Tip: opt for a stage room, you pay a little more but its worth it to have a good view for the gigs withou...

Hi Steph

Thanks for taking the time to post a review - all feedback is greatly appreciated.

Firstly and regarding your comments about the rooms, we are looking to make changes over the winter to the hotel rooms to improve them for next year so you should see some changes in time for 2013.

I'm slightly concerned to hear your comments about our Host Team - the majority of comments we've had this year have been very positive. The Host Team have a wide variety of events to sell but will always give advice as to their preferred nights and events that would suit the music tastes of our guests.

The Host Team are also on hand to give advice on the local area as you mention including local beaches. Cala Gracio is a lovely beach and I can assure you it is just 15/20minutes away - maybe the directions weren't as good as they could have been and if so apologies for this, it's never nice walking around for forty minutes in the middle of the day!
