Just came back from tanit(14 july).after hearing so many bad reviews i thought it was going to be the holiday from hell,but to my surpise it was the best hotel i have ever stopped in.the people who moan must have nothing else better to do. the staff are great ,the entertainers work there butts off,childrens club and staff are great,food is fantastic .pools are very clean and water levels are tested every day plus there are life guards on each pools. the rooms are cleaned daily.we had such a laugh,my partner won mr tanit to his embarisment and to top it all the next day he had to dress up as a baby,i thought it was great.i would recomend this hotel to anyone.so all i have to say to people who moan is WHAT DO YOU WANT ?

We arrived back from a weeks stay at the tanit a few days ago. Check in was smooth and simple in a clean and spacious reception. Our room was massive!!!!! Biggest hotel room I've stayed in. Air con great. Upgrade was available for reasonable charge but we were more than happy with what we had. The best part of the hotel however has to be the food. Great choice and quality. Make sure you check out the "show cooking" at the bottom end of the restaurant. Steaks, fish , chicken etc all grilled to order. The buffets are as good though. We found no problem with noise at nights, I dont expect people to be quiet as mice when on hols, but there was no over the top behaviour. Comfy beds and all inclusive drinks make for a good nights sleep! Use of two pools is handy, one being less crowded.
The location is also superb, the best of two worlds. Two nice quiet , cove like beaches on the doorstep and 20 mins steady walk to bustling san antonio. Make sure you walk in the evening to san antonio and catch the famous sunset with 100's of others for an unforgettable evening. Buses and ferrys will take you to san antonio from just outside the hotel.
The only downside is that I didnt book two weeks.

This hotel is great, its the only hotel weve ever been to more than once! all inclusive is brilliant, loads of food or drinks to choose from at all hours of the day, the hotel staff are friendly and very efficient, but the entertainment staff are ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!! The shows are hilarious. kids entertainment is on early then the adults, all inside but you can still drink round pool area by the bar. entertainment during the day is really good for all ages, our son was interested in all the sports and the pool which can be a bit cold, we went in may. cant fault it really, would go back again and definately reccommend it to families with kids of all ages, they do have a hotel kids club and the staff seem really good although our son is 14 and didnt go but joined in for all the teenage sports

Even after experiencing the previous years troubles, (in respect of the pool area) we decided to return to the hotel as it offers everything we are looking for in a holiday with two young children aged 3 and 6.
We had heard that the pools in the adjascent hotel were now available to guests of the Tanit and this certainly seemed to change things when compared to the previous year.
There was plenty of room to place your sunbed around the Tanit pool, although some morons still decided to get up at 6 in the morning and place their beds and towels by the pool.
I can honestly say that we did not get down to the pool until about 11 every morning and had beds. Yes it is true that part of the pool area is in shade in the afternoon, but the truth is that from about 3 in the afternoon people tend to move away from the pool area so if you find yourself in the shade you can move.
The hotel itself is good, the reception is very helpful and friendly, the hotel is clean, the food is good and the entertainment keeps the children amused throughout the day from 11am to bedtime , and of course the more you participate in the day activities the better the holiday becomes.
The only downside that I could mention is that there are very few facilities outside of the hotel, you need to walk about 15 to 20 mins to find other bars and shops. To me this is not a problem but to other this may be.
My only other negative comment would be about San Antonio it self, I would suggest that it is starting to look very run down. We have been going to San Antonio for about 5 years and this year I think it is starting to go down hill. Quite a bit of building work going on and a lot of incomplete building works that I know were started last year.
I think San Antonio has had the stuffing kicked out of it in previous years and is in need of a revamp.

However watching the sun set at Cafe Mambo is still a must and I would highly recommend that you do this one evening. There are many cafes\bars along the coastal path where you can do this.
