“Lovely sea view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2011

We will come back again. We were staying in a small apartment with a nice balcony where we enjoyed lovely diners, looking the sunset, the TV was old and with bad reception, but to be honest it didn’t bother us too much. The apartment was nice and reception was very polite. The neighbours were very noisy, but after a chat with reception, the noise stopped. We enjoyed our stay at Ses Fontanellas.

We were looking for a quiet place and we found it at Ses Fontanellas, it was just what we were looking for. Nice views in a quiet place with supermarkets and shops nearby. Walking distance from the pubs and souvenir shops. The bus stop was only a few meters from the apartment. The receptionist told us that there was public transport to the beach, and we tried, it was just perfect. We didn´t like that there is no sand beach near the hotel.

Myself and my family have just arrived back from staying at SFP, we were originally booked into another apts, but were moved here with no proper explanation. The apt was awful..breakfast bar was falling down, dishes were dirty, toilet dirty, fans were about to come out the ceiling. We were at the back of the block near the road and a noisy restaurant. I complained straight away and after saying they were fully booked, we were moved later that afternoon. The apt we moved to was a lot better, but not by much. cracked dishes, facings on the wardrobe falling off,, balcony furniture all cracked. I could go on. I booked through RCI and just wonder where my expensive fees go to pay what maintenance..certainly not in this resort. There were broken tiles at the pool, no lifeguard, limited reception, no facilities and as another review said the staff were polite, but a smile would've cracked their faces.
I will be putting in a formal complaint to RCI as this spoilt my family holiday which we save up hard all year for, I am furious!
Do not go to these apts..they are the pits!!

I stayed in this hotel with friends in June 2011. Our reservation had been for the nearby Torrent Bay Club hotel, but when we arrived, were told that we were now in this hotel. Annoying, but they did pay for a taxi to take us there, so fair enough.

The location was good - shops and bars within comfortable walking distance, and there were some fantastic views to be had from certain balconies - ours was one with a sea view. Over the course of the week though, the bad points of the room began to take the shine off what was otherwise a great holiday.

The main problem was the temperature in the rooms. Boiling. Always. We had ceiling fans on the roof, but they were slow, loud and useless. Leaving the patio doors open at night didn't help matters.

Our freezer broke, as did one of the cheapo patio chairs and patio table legs and the beds were pretty poor too. Mine had partly collapsed in the middle. There was no ventilation in the bathroom either, so even after trying to cool yourself down with a cold shower, the room was boiling hot. Again.

This is a shame, because with some better quality furniture and better temperature controls for the rooms, this could be a pretty awesome place to stay. The pool and restaurant were good and there are some spectacular sunset views, either from some rooms, the restaurant or the pool side.

My friends and I didn't pay much for the room, so its hard to be too critical. If we had paid the regular price though, we'd be furious. We found the room temperature unbearable in June. I dread to think how bad it will be in July/August when it is warmer.

Room Tip: Make sure the room has aircon, or avoid

beach, it was rocks smelling of sewage, toilet paper in the sea water....yuk. Cleaners came on our first morning (having got to sleep at around 3am due to the stifling temperature in the room) wanting us to leave the room so they could clean. My daughter asked them to come back in 1 hour to allow us time to dress and go to the pool. She replied by saying either I do it now or you do cleaning yourself!!! The restaurant on the resort was completely empty in the evenings, and now we know why, the food was awful, bland and reheated. My daughter asked for a sirloin steak with mushroom sauce and was given a thin piece of beefsteak, the waiter constantly harrased us so that we would leave asap so he and the kitchen staff could go home, we didnt return. The reception staff were miserable, when requesting them to call you a taxi to take you to Ibiza town or san antonio, they always pulled a face and said you should just try and get one as you walk down the road, it is hard to get through on the phone, very unhelpful. On the day we left, we asked for the 7 euros remaining on our safe deposit to be returned as we were leaving 2 days early. The man behind reception then produced a towel which had make up on it, said it had been collected from our room that morning and the charge to clean it would be..........you guessed it - 7 euros! The taxi drivers were miserable, rude and unhelpful. Would def not return here, ever

We have just returned from a week in Ibiza and stayed here at Ses Fontanellas.
You can get a taxi from the Airport and will cost approx 25 Euros.
It takes about 20-30 mins drive.
The apartment was a 1 bed, which can sleep 4 as the sofas change to beds. It was clean and nicely set out. We were on the first floor and got a double balcony. All rooms face the streets unless you have front sea view suite, these could be owned outright, I am not too sure.
The hotel is in front of the sea but there is no sand, it is just rocks, which didnt stop people bathing on. It was a fantastic view.
Next to the hotel was the sunset resturant with great food, at average prices, there is a few cafes and resturants futher down the road that do have very cheap prices.
Also next to the hotel was car and moped hire, it cost us 104 euros for a moped for 4/5 days. You will find you need transport to get about. it would take about 40 mins+ to walk to San An central. However there is a bus every half hour just up the road from the hotel and costs about 2 euros each. There is also a ferry port tucked away behind the hotels called the Milford port and cost 5 euros for two people. again this goes every half hour till midnight, we were told there was a night bus but we never found this.
The only bad thing we have to say about the rooms, was that it didnt have air condition and only had ceiling fans, we came at end of august and was very hot, the only place you could cool down was in the pool. we even moved our beds to the balcony at the end of holiday. The fans are insufficent and didnt do the job, therefore we didnt sleep very well at all.
We didnt complain as were not ones for doing that we just made the best of of what we had.
The staff in the hotel were friendly, especially our cleaner. the rooms were cleaned twice in the week we stayed.
We didnt find the entertainment in the hotel, most nights we headed off into San Antonio for the nightlife.
I would like to state for all the clubbers that is has gone very expensive over here. its cost on average 25-45 euros per person for tickets to Es Paradis, Eden, Pacha, Priviledge etc.
The drinks inside also are very expensive, we paid 17 euors for 2 rredbulls with no sprits, water was normally 6.50 euros for a small bottle.
We tended to stick to the pre party bars, where rounds would be about 8-12 euros for two people ( bottle of beer)
If you went to the bars not on a pre party night you would get drinks for two at around 3-5 euros in total. So plan where you need to go to make the most of your money.
Just down the road is a bar called BN3 where they have a few pre partys and the drinks are still cheap, Judge jules plays there on a sunday night for his warm up.
Overall it was good to go back to Ibiza but next time i will be prepared for the costs and book somewhere with air con.
