Stayed here September 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed it the staff were generally nice and helpful. The room was cleaned daily and I loved the wooden shutters. The grounds and pool are really pleasant and pretty. We enjoyed the food which was very palatable apart from the paella which was a little too salty for me. There is something for everyone.
It’s a short walk along the beach to the main resort and there is a free bus which is nice.
I notice a lot of the complaints on here are to do with the other guests and not the hotel we went in September and didn’t have a problem. I’d highly recommend this hotel.

Food total disgrace really poor standard no choice what so ever for vegetarians and limited for children. The most disturbing thing was that the stag dos started in the morning and as the day went on the pool area was unsafe for children as sunbeds and people being thrown in the pool and pool toilets being used for things that any hotel should be ashamed of . I suggest the hotel should invest in some sort of security and advertise a family friendly hotel or a 18 to 30 holiday as well as stag and hen dos as I will certainly not be returning with my family and would never recommend this hotel. The reason I gave the hotel a one was because the room was clean but we booked a superior room and refused to stay in it because it was so remote and looking on to a remote outhouse not what we paid for. I have been going to Spain for the past 20 yrs and can certainly say that this is one experience I want to forget.

Room Tip: the so called superior rooms are way at the back of the hotel

Just returned from 10 days, i was a little nervous after reading some reviews but as soon as we arrived i was amazed how beautiful the hotel grounds are, the flowers are beautiful around the whole complex. we were given a room overlooking the kids pool/tennis courts as requested, this is definately the quietest part, however we had a spanish family from hell, who i can only describe as a spanish version of the gallaghers from shamless, luckily only stayed the weekend or i would have requested a room change! rooms were of a good size, we had 3 single beds & were very clean.
The food is 3 star im quite picky dont eat fish (was quite a lot) but always managed to get something, the breakfasts were yummy. All inc drinks good choice of spirts, beer, cava, cocktails & soft drinks & tea coffee. Great service from the bar staff who worked long hours, the restaurant & reception staff were also very polite & helpful.
The hotel has a mix of ages from babies through to pensioners, stag/hen parties etc from spain, france, belguim, germany, uk. we found the hotel very busy & noiser at weekends especially around the main pool/outside bar & was a little rowdy at times, I wouldnt sit around the main pool with children around that time after hearing the language coming out of some people, but the kids pool was very peaceful.
My daughter loved the mini disco every night, i loved the bingo & the entertainment after was very good.
Puerto banus is a lovely walk to do, we also got a boat from there round to marbella, the old town/orange square is definately worth a visit.
Theres a large supermarket 1 min from hotel this also has a cash machine inside.
Would definately return to this hotel.

Having read the reviews previous to going to the hotel I was quite optimistic. However, having come back I can honestly say all the negative reviews were spot on. The rooms are so noisy. Two weeks without sleep was bad enough then the food was another major let down. Lack of choice and poor quality made it worse. The staff were very rude. They did not help us at all. There were a few members of the bar who were friendly and the entertainment crew were also great. Location is poor but the walk into Puerto Banus is nice along the beach. Maybe one week would have been enough as by the second week we were loosing our patience. A.I was bad idea for this hotel. We did enjoy our holiday but that was not down to the hotel.

Just returned from a fortnight at this hotel. Our first impression on entering was how pretty the grounds were, full of colour with all the flowers and shrubs. For the price we paid we thought it excellent value. The rooms were povided with clean towels daily and fresh bedding on a regular basis. The food was plentiful and varied, yes, sometimes there was something you didn't like the look of but we were always able to find an alternative. The staff were mostly pleasant and the entertainment above average for an all inclusive hotel. Buses run regularly from the main road outside to Marbella, Estepona and are cheap.Puerto Banus is worth a visit on the Hotel on the free shuttle

"Auld Yin"

We had booked into the Cortijo Blanco for 2 nights but only stayed for 1, as we were driving to Malaga early on the morning of the third day then travelling on from there, and I couldn't see myself doing so after not having much sleep over the two nights. When we arrived the reception staff were very helpful and, seeing our ages, said they were putting us in a quiet part of the hotel. (I wouldn't have liked to have been in a noisy part!) When we left they apologised for our discomfort, so they were very helpful. The hotel covers quite a large area, so it's just a pity that they weren't able to have separate sections for older people (and families) and younger people - maybe they do have but couldn't do so when we were there.

Just returned from another great holiday at the Cortijo with the family.

Room was lovely with small patio area overlooking the small pool and tennis courts, the best room we have had to date.

As always, Raffa and his team, Will, Rebecca and Viriginia were great, and are one of the main reasons we come back to the Cortijo. Our grandchildren loved the games and came away with quite few certificates each, ( as well as some of us adults). Raffa, with his lovely bubble personality, is able to interact with all ages, he is a great credit to the Cortijo. They all work extremely hard, not only in organising the weekly games, but with the evening entertainment.

The bar staf work hard and always have a time for some friendly banter, they are always cheerful and serve the drinks with a smile.

Met up again with our Cortijo friends, Ann, Brian and Ponti, and Ann, Brian, Mags and Martin. Looking forward to seeing them all again soon.

Food is good with plenty of variety, but remember this is a 3 star hotel not 5, so all you who moan about the food put your hand in your pocket and go to a 5 star hotel!!

All in all can't beat the Cortijo for value, friendliness and cleanliness. We will be back later this year.

Room Tip: The Almeria block is quieter.
