“super sunny perfect spot”

Stumbled on this little gem by accident. Lying on a sun bed there as i write this. Lovely view and great food not overpriced for the location.

“simple super fresh excellent sea food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2012

located on the beach, you'll find here a restaurant without complexes. Visited by the local inhabitants, they ONLy serve super fresh sea food (so don't complain when your preferred fish isn't available). From clams to tuna and lubina in salt (sea bass), from gambas à la plancha the way they have to be served to bocquerones. And also here a good ... flan caramel...

“Very Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012 via mobile

Outside very nicely done with a perfect view of the sea.. Inside less so.. Food is good and basically in line with what you would expect from a place like this. It is almost as good as "La Escollera" in the fishing harbor of Estepona, where you get it for half the price..

“Sublime location for an evening out.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2012

El Ancla is a decennia old well-known location at the Mediterranean beachfront. It several times changed ownership from the good to the worst and back. The latest owner refurbished the restaurant and the site, up to modern standards.
The fish is daily fresh from the sea and of superb quality. The interior of the restaurant could radiate a cosier atmosphere, but for many a dinner or lunch at the seaside is an unforgettable occasion. The service could be more friendly and personal, while the wine selection is quite limited. Improvements in these aspects would have generated a higher rating.
