Can`t understand the bad reviews, this holiday cost less than going camping in the UK.
So here is my view of the hotel.
Rooms-- large and 2 single beds (everywhere ive been has been single beds, (push them together) living room had a sofa bed but didnt go into a double, it was a bed in a draw underneath, no so good for 4 adults sharing but we made do. Bathroom had a sink, toilet and bath with shower, what more do you need.
Hotel -- could do with a lick of paint but it was clean and i always saw the cleaners sweeping round the pool area.
Snack bar -- thought the burgers were tasty yes they were a little cold but what do you expect when left under heat lamps (warm them up in microwave) people moaning you had to get your own drinks , why i thought it was good you could go and get a beer or soft drink when you want. yes you got plastic cups but you are outside round a swimming pool.
Pool area -- didnt see rowdy people legless in the afternoon, the Spanish guests were a little loud but thats their nature, sunbeds were free (out of season) and plenty of space round the pool to relax, outdoor pool was freezing but it is March, few seagulls were around but didnt cause a nuisance. indoor pool was warm but thought it had to much chlorine, games room ok but had to pay (pool 5 euro for an hour)
Food -- Breakfast was as stated beans, scrambled egg, grilled tomatoes, cold meats and cheese, also had cereal and croissants. (you are in Portugal and its called a continental Breakfast)
Lunch and dinner was 1 meat 1 fish, Pasta and FRESH SALAD, also had soup it wasnt home made but it was tasty, the cakes were very tasty, Even the misses enjoyed the food and she is so picky.
Bar and drinks -- you could have Beer (super Boch), Wine, Soft drinks or hot drinks from 10 am till 8 pm then the spirits came out, till midnight cant believe people were complaining about this (who would want spirits from 10 in the morning.
The bar area was small but OK (only block 1 was open) the entertainment was good with karaoke ( thats when it got loud but not rowdy) Quizes and a couple of animal shows, the only downside was no entertainment on Saturday or Sunday.
Staff -- Friendly and helpful ( be nice to them and they are pleasant to you )
Surrounding area -- very nice and the beach is amazing, the strip had a few bars open go and have a drink in 1 or 2 they are cheap enough and they look after you (didnt venture on strip at night due to sightseeing all day and being over 40 lol so cant comment on night life).
as stated go to the travel shop on the strip for the trips , we went on a full day trip to Lisbon for 23 euros (38 in hotel)
The bad points -- 10 euro for remote to the tv but you got it back (I dont go on holiday to watch tv)
no kettle but you can hire 1 at 10 Euro infact everything seemed to be 10 Euro (do what we did boil a pan of water.
so would i go back YES as there is so much to see and do OUTSIDE THE HOTEL, so many little towns to explore, if i just wanted to sit round the pool all day then no i wouldn't go back
remember the price you paid and its 3 star not 5 star, hope this review is helpful, time to detox and go on a diet lol
