“great holiday. ignore the bad reviews”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2014

Can`t understand the bad reviews, this holiday cost less than going camping in the UK.
So here is my view of the hotel.

Rooms-- large and 2 single beds (everywhere ive been has been single beds, (push them together) living room had a sofa bed but didnt go into a double, it was a bed in a draw underneath, no so good for 4 adults sharing but we made do. Bathroom had a sink, toilet and bath with shower, what more do you need.

Hotel -- could do with a lick of paint but it was clean and i always saw the cleaners sweeping round the pool area.

Snack bar -- thought the burgers were tasty yes they were a little cold but what do you expect when left under heat lamps (warm them up in microwave) people moaning you had to get your own drinks , why i thought it was good you could go and get a beer or soft drink when you want. yes you got plastic cups but you are outside round a swimming pool.

Pool area -- didnt see rowdy people legless in the afternoon, the Spanish guests were a little loud but thats their nature, sunbeds were free (out of season) and plenty of space round the pool to relax, outdoor pool was freezing but it is March, few seagulls were around but didnt cause a nuisance. indoor pool was warm but thought it had to much chlorine, games room ok but had to pay (pool 5 euro for an hour)

Food -- Breakfast was as stated beans, scrambled egg, grilled tomatoes, cold meats and cheese, also had cereal and croissants. (you are in Portugal and its called a continental Breakfast)
Lunch and dinner was 1 meat 1 fish, Pasta and FRESH SALAD, also had soup it wasnt home made but it was tasty, the cakes were very tasty, Even the misses enjoyed the food and she is so picky.

Bar and drinks -- you could have Beer (super Boch), Wine, Soft drinks or hot drinks from 10 am till 8 pm then the spirits came out, till midnight cant believe people were complaining about this (who would want spirits from 10 in the morning.
The bar area was small but OK (only block 1 was open) the entertainment was good with karaoke ( thats when it got loud but not rowdy) Quizes and a couple of animal shows, the only downside was no entertainment on Saturday or Sunday.

Staff -- Friendly and helpful ( be nice to them and they are pleasant to you )

Surrounding area -- very nice and the beach is amazing, the strip had a few bars open go and have a drink in 1 or 2 they are cheap enough and they look after you (didnt venture on strip at night due to sightseeing all day and being over 40 lol so cant comment on night life).
as stated go to the travel shop on the strip for the trips , we went on a full day trip to Lisbon for 23 euros (38 in hotel)

The bad points -- 10 euro for remote to the tv but you got it back (I dont go on holiday to watch tv)
no kettle but you can hire 1 at 10 Euro infact everything seemed to be 10 Euro (do what we did boil a pan of water.

so would i go back YES as there is so much to see and do OUTSIDE THE HOTEL, so many little towns to explore, if i just wanted to sit round the pool all day then no i wouldn't go back

remember the price you paid and its 3 star not 5 star, hope this review is helpful, time to detox and go on a diet lol

My friend and myself had a fantastic stay at this hotel, for the price you will get no better, clean big rooms plenty of food and drink, all day, and indoor and outdoor pools, even the hall ways of this very large hotel were spotless ALL the time. With the fantastic beach a few minutes along the road, I would defiantly go again and again... Dilys Clevedon, England.

all I can say is that if you enjoy vile food, dirty rooms and enjoy listening to drunken brits singing and shouting until 1am then this is the place for you
every morning the breakfast consisted of hot dog sausages, cold beans and some sort of yellow stuff that might have been egg,all tasteless and uneatable.
snacks consisted of cold hamburgers and hotdogs and chips, dinner was equally vile there was a choice of fish, usually skin and bone and some sort of meat.
Fridays meal was `stewed cow `that's what menu said, turned out to be brown stuff in greasy water .
my wife and I ate out most days despite being AI .

Room Tip: just don't go !!

Have just returned from a two week break in praia da rocha using this hotel as our base.
we had a room on the 1st floor overlooking the pool from the corner .. room 126.
rooms are ok , large and always clean. Bathroom could be doing with a revamp but apart from that it was ok .
Food was ok .. you could always find something to eat .. however we like to eat out which we did some of the nights .
breakfast do be doing with an upgrade tho ..
10 euro deposit for tv which was refunded on check out
staff were very friendly
there was no charge for sunbeds .. maybe because it was out of season
snack bar is open for self service soft drinks and beer/wine from 10.30 till 6pm

would return but we like to try different countries
if you want to book trips book through the ticket shop on the strip and not the hotel as they are cheaper in the ticket shop

This hotel is perfect if you don't want to spend much time in your hotel. The outside is horrendous, the beds are not comfortable, they only have twin beds which was annoying as well. Rooms were big though. The pool was broken, the reception was OK but they try to get you to sign up for tours that they charge at triple the price as places up the road! Then there's the food.... Powered soup, cardboard tasting mash potatoes that were the consistency of paper mâché, frozen veg, mushy pasta, and I could go on and on! NOTHING is fresh! And the drinks aren't even all inclusive because there is only certain kinds you can get and at certain hours. Overall, if you are not expecting much you will be fine, like I said we just stayed there to sleep and eat (unfortunately), I suggest the self-catering option. The location is amazing however and I would go again but choose a different hotel!

i have just come back from my holiday here this week. I really enjoyed myself. Yes people are moaning on here about drunks but to be honest this time off year in the Algarve there really isnt much to do except drink during the day. Which is great if youve paid for the all inclusive option. I would suggest you pay for that before you get out there otherwise its a lot more.
We stayed in a one bedroom alot better than i expected the bedroom was big there was a front room with a kitchen and a sofa bed and a tele and the bathroom was fine. shower a bit over powering but who doesn't enjoy a good shower.
Limiting a bit on food but at the price we paid to go there for a week we really didn't mind going out for a meal now and again. lovely irish bar at the top of the hill. and beach lovely. only recommendation is not to go in march because there is very little to do. I spoke to some locals who said April-Sep is the time to go.

I have just returned from this hotel and frankly have nothing bad to say about it. I did read many reviews before we went but at the end of the day it was a short break to get some early sun.
We paid £300 for flights, transfers and all inclusive for a week so really cannot complain!
It was around 11pm when we arrived and we were greeted by a gentleman at reception who was friendly and professional.
First look at the studio was a pleasant surprise - it was very clean! Happy me.

Ok so the food was repetitive but whoever said it is inedible is basically lying - it's fine! Again back to the cheap price...

All the staff were great and you can see that they work hard.

There certainly weren't any fights from people staying here. There were a few loud mouths but it was fine you just go about your own thing and enjoy yourself and forget the rowdy few around the pool.

I found it was a highly enjoyable holiday. Absolutely fantastic beach!
Sure I probably wouldn't have paid much more but it suited our needs just fine. Yes I was a little anxious having read reviews but hey, it was great.
