Been a huge fan since my 1st visit. Photo's can't due justice to the beauty of the property and the views. The staff is amazing and can assist you w/ advance reservations for museums to avoid lines, a visit to a cheese far, a balsamic producer, local wineries. All you have to do is ask. The restaurant calls you back again & again. Comfortable beds, modernized bathrooms. As owner of Let's Go Cook Italian I have returned w/ my guests multiple times in each of the last 5 years & wouldn't think of having my experience anywhere else. My guests love it! Some have visited 2 and 3 times w/ me. Each visit I plan extra days for "dolce far niente" just for me (sweet doing nothing). So, it's business..but pleasure each time. I can't think of one thing I would change. Oh, and don't forget to visit the Oleoteca. The Olive Oil is spectacular!

Set in the tranquil and beautiful Mugello Valley Campestri is the ideal location for those who are seeking a uniquely relaxing experience. This staff in this family run hotel could not be more welcoming and they are determined to help you enjoy the experience of a holiday in Tuscany to the full and tailor it to your specific needs. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed perfectly in keeping with a building of considerable historical significance.

If you like Tuscan food and wine Campestri is certainly for you.

Whenever I travel, I look for interesting and elegant venues - to learn, to experience, to explore and to be entertained. Villa Campestri, a unique olive oil resort, is truly a treasure - whether it’s planting your own olive tree, taking a cooking course, getting an olive oil massage, hiking along the trails, basking by the pool, having a prosecco (or two) on the terrace, or delighting all of your senses with the sumptuous cuisine. All that, plus the stone cellar at the Villa has been transformed into an Oleoteca, where you learn the nuances of olive oil and compare their exquisite tastes.

I am definitely returning!

3 friends and I just returned from a 1 week stay in the Dahlia apt at Villa Campestri - 1 week was not long enough. The staff were amazing friendly, courteous and so willing to make our stay memorable. Tatianna, Simone and Gabriel were fantastic. Viola (owner's daughter) was relaxed friendly and really made us feel welcome. I look forward to more visits to Villa Campestri. From the hiking trails, to olive oil tastings and even planting our own olive trees each experience is catered with the individual in mind. These are not one of the activities that can only be done with a group of 30+ people. I had a private olive oil tasting and was treated as if they had all the time in the world to answer my questions.

The small town nearby Vicchio is filled with amazing frescos located throughout the center of the village. While we did most of our cooking our meal at the Il Palagio in Scarperia was delicious and the best event was the Chestnut Festival in Marradi.

I and DH stayed five days in Villa Campestri in October. The weather could have been better during our visit, it was rainy and stormy, but our room was warm and welcoming. The villa itself was beautifully situated on a Tuscan hilltop with nice views. The road to the villa from the main road was a very narrow serpentine road and it was an adventure to travel along it in the evenings when it was dark.
Our room was situated in an outbuilding next to the villa and furnished with antique looking furniture. It was a big room and rather comfortable, even though lighting could have been better. It was difficult to read in the poor light. The bathroom was massive and the bath tub was the biggest I had ever seen. One morning I stepped on a small scorpion in there, but I read afterwards that they are not very dangerous in Italy.
The villa restaurant was very expensive, a full menu without wine was 52 euros. If you travelled to Vicchio village you could get a nice pizza for 6 euros and half a litre of wine for 3 euros. Breakfast was the same every morning, ok and filling but not very exciting. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend Villa Campestri for a short visit, specially if you want a quiet and peaceful place to stay. A train from Vicchio village to Florence takes about an hour and costs 3.50 one way.

While planning our trip to Italy, we asked our travel agent (Nancy Grant - Pleasanton Travels) to find us a nice place to stay in the countryside - Tuscany. We didn't want to stay in a big city. What a fantastic CHOICE Villa Campestri. The owner, Paolo, is a wonderful man. The entire staff (Sandra was my favorite) was super nice, friendly, and personable. They were always ready to greet us and help us with whatever we needed. They work very hard too. The meals were terrific and a perfect setting. Best of all, it was perfect for my husband and I since we didn't want to drive around Florence and we didn't want to stay in another busy city. It was so convenient to drive to the train station from the hotel and take the train into Florence. It was 1 hour away, but boy did we get to see a lot of the scenery, relax , enjoy and just take in the beauty of the area. The hour went by fast. I highly, highly recommend this incredible hotel. We will continue to stay there when we return to Italy.
