“beautiful property in stunning location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

Stayed one night on our way from pisa to umbria. The location is very beautiful nestled in between the hills with forest all around. Two travel cots in the room as requested, and an enormous room with a lovely bathroom attached. The property itself is an old italian mansion with a swimming pool in a small garden. The owner, an elderly gentleman was very friendly and welcoming and made us feel as ease immediately. Dinner across the road in the attached trattoria really was first class, good value for money, with excellent food. The only downside was the breakfast is expensive (9 euros each for a couple of slices of toast and a croissant and a slice of cheese), but this was a minor thing. Would recommend throughly if you are in this neck of the woods.

We stayed here for two nights as part of our Italian honeymoon. We are on a three week tour so have stayed in many different types of Italian accomodation from Venice to Naples. The hotel itself is lovely, clean and quirky. Although Paolo doesn't speak English he gives it a go and his receptionist/waitress/girl Friday speaks very good English. They were friendly, welcoming and very accomodating. The room was large, lovely, clean and decoated to a nice standard. The shower was an experience, with jets from every direction, a blue light and a radio. The pool was clean and cool but could have done with sun loungers rather than deck chairs around it. Breakfast was what we have come to expect from small Italian residences i.e coffee (very nice and any way your heart desires it), coissant, cheese, meat, toast and cookies (really, everywhere we go). It also came with the best fresh juice we've had in Italy so far. Paolo and his assistant couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. It was nice to stay in the peace of the countryside after visiting so many city destinations. There were other couples staying at the hotel while we were there and some with 6-8yr olds. The pool was safe for the children and there was also a ping pong table in a shaded area for them to play with. I would recommend this hotel and wouldstay there again.

Be warned...the trattoria that is attached to the hotel serves nice enough food although (we've had better in Italy) but will take your eyes out. It is VERY expensive for what you get. 7euros for an average tasting tomato soup was a bit of a shock and although we thought we asked for 8.50euro grilled beef we were served (and paid for) 22euro steaks. Yikes!

We stayed here for four nigits and we loved it!! The owner doesn't speak english but is so friendly and serviceminded. Besides there are others at the hotel that do speak english and they have lots of good suggestions and tips for you if ask! The restaurant has good food and is not expensive! It's only a 20 min drive to Florens and only a few minutes from the hotel by car you have Toscany and it's wineyards and a lovely scenic road!!

We stayed here while traveling with friends from Northern Italy. The rooms were nice. Ours was a superior room so it had the special wooden tub for the vinotherapy that they offer. We didn't have time to try it out though. The service here was great. The owner is a very sweet older gentleman who doesn't speak much English but he was more than willing to try and very patient with our poor Italian. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and super helpful. When one of them heard us talking about visiting San Gimignano, she gave us a great restaurant suggestion for lunch that day. Our only problem was that the hot water heater was broken on our second morning so we all had cold showers. They were super nice and apologetic about it but it would've been nice if they'd offered a discount or comped our breakfasts for the day. Still, it was a great visit.

When I think about Tuscan hospitality and service, this hotel totally embraces and surpasses expectations! Paolo (owner) and his staff (Cristina and Vicki) made us feel welcome right from the start and through our entire stay (4 nights). They helped with travel tips and always had a smile!

The hotel is less than an year old and has modern touches (free WiFi, steam shower) while keeping an traditional Tuscan charm. The superior rooms have a vineotherapy tub which is very cool but I unfortunately didn't have the time to try the spa treatment.

There is a restaurant on site and we dined there twice with mixed feelings. The first night was good while the second night left us disappointed. Despite the poor service on the second night, I would have to commend the chef on the risotto - this was easily the best risotto I have ever had!!

Breakfast was good with fresh fruit from Paolo's garden - delicious peaches and plums!!

I would recommend this hotel if staying in Tuscany and would stay here again. Paolo is very much part of the experience and the personal touches were greatly appreciated! Thank you Paolo, Cristina and Vicki for an amazing stay and hope to see you again soon!

The Inn keeper is extratrodary and if you speak only a little Italian, he is very much a great part of your stay and is very personable. He cares about your travel experience while your visiting Italy. The place is new, with modern bathrooms, and WIFI and TV. But it does not look or feel like a hotel. Breakfast is modest yet personally made for you, you eat well, and eat as if in someone's home. You will enjoy the pool, and the great classic collection of antiques. You can drive to Greve, Pisa and Florence from here and is worth it. If you like to drive, this is your place.

Room Tip: Rooms with the SPA bath is for those who want it. There is a elevator for 2nd floor for those who w...
