“The best meal we had in Italy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

It is hard to find the words that conclude our dream experience at Marco and Silvia's restaurant.
Everything was just perfect, and you can sense that a lot of attention was given to every small detail.
Marco is a generous man, and after spoiling us throughout the dinner, he even gave us a bottle of house wine as a gift for our soon to be born first child.

We will definitely come back as soon as possible!
Thank you Marco was this wonderful evening.

“Amazing Florontine Beefsteak, Wonderful Food and Great Wine along with Warm Hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

Our adventure began when we drove to Scarperia to purchase hand made Consigli Florentine Beefsteak knives which we saw at Macellerica Falorni, the famous butcher shop in Greve in Chianti (knives made special for them). We wanted a great Beefsteak place where we might try our new knives with out offending anyone (this sounds a bit odd, but these hand made knives are art!). Our wonderful friends at Salvadonica, where we were staying, recommended Big Marco at Cinque di Vino, a real locals place, known for having the best beefsteak in the area. The beef is locally butchered, and Marco personally selects the best (you have to see the local grass fed Chianina cattle, unbelievable). Marco and his wife are warm and inviting, and loved the fact that we brought our own knives to enjoy his magnificent steak. The service is very good. Marco serves a very big beefsteak, cooked very rare, and finished on a real, small charcoal grill at your table. It may take an hour to eat the steak, each bite hot and cooked to perfection. Once you have eaten a Florentine Beefsteak this way, there is no going back. Many of the fine wines can be served to you by Marco by the glass, providing an opportunity to try new wines from the local region. LISTEN TO MARCO, he knows what he is talking about. The atmosphere is charming, with a local, non-tourist feel. All of the antipasto and pasta dishes we had were delicious, we were so full that we barely had room for desert. The (comparative) prices were very fair, you really cannot match the quality. Marco keeps his prices very reasonable. This is a rare and authentic experience. We have been back 3 times. Cinque di Vino is a family owned business, Marco and his charming wife Silvia work very hard and it shows. What they do is not easy and it should be appreciated. The little town of San Casciano is very local, with no tourist. We caught it on a "festival" type night, all the locals were out. Lovely real town people. The gelato shop in town has one of the best views out the back you will see in Tuscany. I only wish I could eat Marco and Silvia's wonderful food and look at that view!

“An Experience to Remember”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

Marco, the owner, welcomes everyone with open arms. He is larger than life and an excellent host along with his wife Sylvia. The food is excellent from the sage leaves to the Florontine Steak, which is certainly a mouth full. The ambiance is rustic Tuscan but in my opinion the wine selection particularly the Excellencia is a good as any in the region. Have been numerous tiimes and when I return to San Casciano in August 2013 will make this restaurant my first place of call.

“The ultimate Bistecca alla Fiorentina”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

Preperation and presentation were perfect. The T-Bone steak is finished at your table on a small charcoal grill. The meat melts in your mouth. A symphony of flavors. Thank you Marco and Silvia for a meal to remember always.

“Tuscan Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

We enjoyed a great dinner at this restaurant. The waiter/ owner suggested a sampling of foods of the area and we enjoyed all of the dishes. He also recommended a great bottle of wine. We were at the restaurant in August and it was warm in the restaurant. We moved to a outside table when one became available and it was much cooler outside. We enjoyed great deserts and after dinner drinks. We would highly recomend this restaurant.
