“Rustic meets modern”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

This farmhouse is exactly what you would expect in Tuscany...and exactly what you see in the photos. What you don't see is inside the modern building that houses the rooms. When you walk in, you're transported into NYC! It was very chic and I wished we had stayed longer, but we were just passing through to visit a couple of vineyards.
They have 3 dogs that live on-site, which I loved. One of them met us every time we drove in or out, it was so sweet. Staff was very friendly, too. Would definitely recommend.

As we were on our Cruise. Me and my wife decided to go on a offshore site to visit this vineyard. It was really really worth it. This is a small working Vineyard that produce high quality Wine and Grappa. The staff was extra Friendly and te food and wine spread was amazing. We stoped over to do wine tasting for the afternoon. From the tour of the vineyard to the cellers etc. everything was perfect. The Food was amazing . The had alot of food to die for. There wine was amazing. Especially there ESSE. We spent our vacation lounging about the Fattoria la Torre. A Fattoria in Italy is a farm. Our farm produced wine and olive oil. Not just any old wine either but Esse, certified as the best Syrah in Italy and the house red was pretty good too!

The Fattoria has 10 apartments to let for any stay over 1 week. If you are coming for a shorter stay, the hotel has 10 lovely modern rooms with a clean Scandinavian design. The reception is open from 8 am to 7 pm and offers concierge services and wine tastings. If you are thinking about taking a romantic drive in the country, order a picnic basket the day before and pick it up after breakfast.

The hotel restaurant or Trattoria offers authentic Tuscan cuisine. I tasted the most amazing chick pea soup with porcini mushrooms, roasted pork loin and lamb and of course their pasta was freshly made, daily. They subscribe to the slow food movement and the time and love they put into their dishes makes you feel at home. Be sure to make reservations for dinner, the small restaurant fills up quickly and even though the staff will do magic tricks to make a table appear from nowhere, they do have some limitations.

They have a refreshing swimming pool which is much appreciated after wandering around Lucca or Sienna in the hot sunshine but do remember that the pool, in true Italian style, closes at 7 pm.

I can't say enough about Fattoria La Torre. Location and staff was perfect. In fact if not for our experiences there one might say our long awaited trip to Italy would have been a bust. Our entire trip paralelled a winter snow storm unlike seen in 50 years. The CInque Terre was like a ghost town. Siena felt like the antartic. Train stations closed. In many places in the Tuscany region chains were advised on tires. Hope this is making my point that if not for the wonderful hospitality, including no charge aperitif's more than once and johnny on the spot taking care of our needs, our trip would have been less than enjoyable. I can definately recommend taking the cooking course there at the agriturisimo. Chiara and staff made for a warm and comforting evening and delicious food and wine.

Italy is definately a redo for us and Fattoria la Torre will be as well.

we visited the vineyard where the farm manager showed us his cellar, spent an hour telling us about the property, the wines and everything else. He was the best!
its a 350 hectare property and on it sits the restaurant. had the wild boar, carpaccio with white truffles - both were delectable.
service was excellent - we had a long lazy lunch with wine from their own vineyard. cannot wait to go back there. http://www.latorrefattoria.it/eng/index.html

This charming agriturismo has lovely converted old buildings, a great large pool area, is set in beautiful olive groves on a hillside with views of the nearby medieval tower and hilltop village, and has a great restaurant, with lovely atmosphere with their own wines available for sale. The apartments are spotless and full of character, nice large bathroom and private outlook over the hills. It was good having kitchen facilities in the apartment and a nice outdoor seating area too. The location is very handy for sightseeing, between Lucca and Florence. A great place for families too with the large pool, play area and friendly resident dogs. The staff were welcoming and proved to be especially helpful and supportive when my husband was unfortunately involved in a cycling accident. Very highly recommended for couples and families.

Room Tip: The apartments have a good outlook.
