“Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2014

My husband and I stayed at Borgo Santo Pietro in July 2014 for 3 nights and it was the perfect start to our honeymoon. This place really is a serene paradise- a place we never thought would exist. We stayed in the L'ulivo garden suite which was just the most beautiful suite with a beautiful garden surrounded by lemon trees. The hotel has 13 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens and lots of nature to explore. The hotel staff are excellent and very charismatic, they made our stay extra special-particularly Salvatore in the restaurant who was just excellent. The food at the hotel was the best we tasted during our two week honeymoon. The dining ambience on the terrace was unbelievably romantic. We didn't want to leave at the end of our stay- we will definitely return again. A hidden gem and paradise and the owners have got it's offering just right. Beyond 5 star.

Perfection!!! Perfecto…… Magnificent grounds, Incredibly, friendly, delightful staff, and the most delicious food. Buffet breakfast with the best cappuccinos, delicious pizza, foccacio bread from the wood burning oven, brick oven chicken and of course "The Pasta". Unbelievably romantic! candles everywhere…..We can't say enough about our experience here- One of the best villas in all of Europe…The attention to detail really shows- Our room was exceptionally cozy with down pillows and comforters. Wonderful bathroom products, comfortable bathrobe and slippers. Always fresh fruit, chocolates and sparkling water in our room. We were originally booked for 2 days and stayed for 4. We can't say enough how amazing our stay was- and we can't wait to visit again- We were treated like family, and we will try and visit our family every year, this is a very, very special place… Grazie Mille!!!!

My wife and I stayed at Borgo Santo Pietro to celebrate our 10th anniversary and we had the most wonderful experience.

Happy memories - candles everywhere, the view out over unspoilt Tuscan countryside, the infinity edge swimming pool, romance, the most incredibly manicured gardens, fountains, roll-top bath, charming staff, beautiful interior designs and a wonderful attention to detail.

A couple of minor blemishes - 11 bedrooms and 13 acres makes for a very romantic and intimate experience which was perfect for us, but there were times when I thought the hotel was slightly lacking in atmosphere. There were lots of empty day beds and the restaurants were always very sparsely populated. Still, this is a very marginal criticism. Also, they need to be careful with children. I have two children myself, but I wouldn't bring them to this hotel - it's the most perfect retreat for couples and I think it's a difficult place for children to enjoy. Finally, the food was very, very good, but they could have done better at accommodating my wife's request for no shellfish/seafood from the tasting menu - she was presented with eel which I ended up eating. For the price, I would have expected a little more.

Overall, a magical experience at Borgo Santo Pietro. I will certainly recommend it to all friends and family and would love to stay again in the future...perhaps to celebrate a 20th wedding anniversary!

Thank you LuxuryHotelFan_75 for your precious review. We are glad you had the opportunity to enjoy all that Borgo has to offer.
As you noticed, we are a small boutique hotel with only 15 rooms. And, with our 13 acres of land and gardens, even in high season when we are completely booked, we still try to offer complete discretion and privacy as best we can. The garden beds are placed in secluded spots throughout the garden to give our guests just that and one of our restaurants, The Tree House Bar, is open all day so guests can enjoy a meal at any time of the day and not feel rushed for time.
We wish you all the best on your anniversary and hope to welcome you and your friends again.

Speechless..... Just Speechless...When the gates to this Heaven opened upon our arrival, it unleashed a new perspective on life! This is where opulence, perfection, majestic, and the realisation of life lies amongst tranquility. From the moment we arrived, our name was welcomed, to be greeted by the amazing staff on arrival and with a wine in hand, and juices for our children. We were greeted by the most beautiful people and treated with the utmost respect. We were shown to our amazing suites for our 5 day stay. The U'livero Suite and then La Maggiorana suite There is not enough words to even describe the beauty and sophistication of such nostalgic rooms were were given. It was like living in paradise literally. The amazing bath tub, the courtyards, the bed everything was of the best quality. The amazing grounds, the staff, the restaurants. To wake up each morning to the freshness and wonderful breakfast being prepared for us each and every morning, our table awaiting and coffees on arrival. The bistro and pizza making classes were top of the list for our children who are still talking about their adventure. The days at the swimming pool, relaxation without a stress in the world while sipping on cocktails. The food just brilliant, the local fresh produce, the presentation and meals themselves just mouthwatering. The excellence in service and attention that we received and the respect that was shown to my children was a very endearing quality. We have travelled the world and stayed at some amazing hotels and properties, this one has to be number 1 on our list, we could not fault it at all, I could continue writing for days. Nina, Claudine, Gianluca, Mario,Daniela,Salvatore,Alessandro and Ivan, you should all be so very proud of the impeccable service and treatment and friendly warm nature you all have and share with your guests. Your professionalism is the utmost important factor in when guests stay with you, and we are very grateful for what has been a hard year for us to come to Borgo Santo Pietro and have the best time we could possibly ever dream of. We thank you for everything and look forward to coming back with many family and friends. Thank you.

Room Tip: Any room is a great room.

Thank you so much Happy T for your enthusiastic review. It really sounds like you made the best of your 5-day stay with us and we're glad we had the chance to show you our full "Borgo Experience". The pizza making classes are always a favorite for the little ones, and the not so little ones as many adults now like to learn the secrets of true Italian pizza!
We hope to welcome you and your family again soon.

Our stay at Borgo Santo Pietro was beyond perfect. The Borgo Santo Pietro Suite which we stayed in was pure zen. Our terrace with views of the pool, the beautiful valleys and the perfectly manicured gardens was a great spot for relaxation before a meal, a glass of sparkling and of course sunbathing for those wanting absolute privacy. What impressed me the most was the attention to detail. From the food served at the restaurant to the fruit garden, the outdoor cinema and the beautiful outdoor relaxation areas. Everything was simply perfect. This hotel is one of the best I have ever stayed at and the staff, including Nina, Claudine, Gian Luca, Mario & the bar/ restaurant team made this extra special. This was the best birthday location I could have asked for.

We stayed at this hotel recently as part of our honeymoon. On the whole, we had a lovely, relaxing stay but there were one or two small things which could have made the stay even more perfect.

The good
The house and grounds are beautifully and tastefully decorated and arranged. a lot of thought and effort has gone into the design, furnishings and landscaping of the extensive grounds, the owners should be very proud. We really enjoyed wandering around exploring the place. The service was very good, particularly the ladies on reception and the concierge who gave us helpful tips, lent us a sat nav and booked restaurants for us, all very politely and graciously. The breakfast was fantastic, lovely fresh produce, much of it from the gardens. We really liked the little, thoughtful touches like the ipad you can use in the grounds, hiring of bikes, efficient cleaning of the room whilst we were at breakfast, entertainment evenings such as the cinema night. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms in the main house which although quite small was lovely but we had a little nosy into a bigger room which looked amazing.

The not so good
The hotel is very big on first and last impressions. Whilst starting our stay with a glass of prosecco on the terrace was lovely, the check out process did have a touch of business like efficiency about it - very much geared to repeat customers, and making sure we write a positive review!
This place is expensive, particularly the food. We have eaten in Michelin starred restaurants and are happy to pay the price if it really special. Unfortunately the meal we had in the main restaurant, a tasting menu, sadly just did not live up to our expectations.
Whilst polite and friendly, the service was at times very slow, mainly around drinks orders, which we thought was odd that no sunbed drinks service was offered whilst we were there.

Don't let these minor things put you off, it is a wonderful relaxing, beautiful place to stay but maybe explore into Tuscany for your meals - we had a fabulous one a few minutes drive from the hotel, that Borgo booked for us.

Hopefully we will return soon! Thank you for a lovely honeymoon stay.

We have stayed at many wonderful places all over the world and Borgo is unquestionably the most exquisite place we have been. The service from our emails and booking through to check out was excellent. If you can picture heaven, and what it smells like, looks like, and tastes like, this is your place.

I cannot say enough about the incredible staff, scrumptious world-class cuisine (even the simplest breakfast is good enough to write a book about), gorgeous grounds, spectacular rooms and bathrooms (tub amenities and notions are amazing from the local village made by Santa Maria Novella!), and every need is tended to.

We also fell deeply in love with the resident cat Mimi, who ended up spending most of our visit in our room. She made it extra special and we wanted to bring her home but wouldn't dream of taking her away from living at Borgo. Lucky her.

It was so hard to leave and we have dreamt about going back ever since. If you are considering a stay in Tuscany, look no further. Book at Borgo Santo Pietro and you will thank yourself for the rest of your life. Truly one of a kind perfection.

Room Tip: You can't go wrong. The main house rooms are lovely and the villas are exquisite. They look li...
