We stayed at The Alberghi Marilleva 1400 for 5 nights.
The hotel is literally at the bottom of the slopes and within 2 mins walk to the main gondolla lift and a two person chair to a red run.
We are beginners to skiing and found the hotel in a great location to the ski school (again a 3 mins walk across the snow from reception)
We were half board and the food was fantastic. We had wine and water with meals every night and the drinks bill only came to 40 euros for our stay.
The only down side to the hotel is that it is geared to italian families with lots of children! and there is only one bar in the hotel (and not much else in walking distance) with the emphasis on entertaining all those children. The rooms are spacious but slightly dated although were immaculately clean and serviced daily by a troop of maids. Staff helpfull and friendly and spoke english (major bonus as this is not a resort frequented by english people) There is reserved parking under the hotel building which is handy.
