“Hotel near to Catania Airport”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

We stayed in this hotel for one night on our arrival in Sicily. It was difficult to find even with the help of a good map that said we found the hotel was perfectly fine. The room was clean; the restaurant offered a good choice of food and the freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast was delicious.
The staff were helpful and polite and we felt it was good value for money.

Room Tip: All rooms appeared to be the same.

I've stayed in the hotel for four nights. I worked in a city 25km away so the location of the hotel was really good to get on a highway quickly.
It's one of the few upsides of the location - other one is a close proximity of the airport Fontanarossa and a big shipping mall. There is a spacious parking and so ther's no problem with finding a sport to leave your car for the night.
From the downsides:
Hotel is old, the interior is in good condition, but it misses the modern facilities. There's no carpet, only a stone floor which is not very nice to walk without shoes.
There is a restaurant as well - the food quality is acceptable and the prices are reasonable. Bar was just next to the restaurant and was open until late hours.
Breakfast - traditional italian with the addition of fresh orange juice (not sure if it's available at all seasons).
Checkin and check out was very quick - even though I was checking out at 5am.
Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable and there is a free internet access.

My purpose in staying here was to avoid rushing to the hotel in the morning and risking getting stuck in a traffic jam on the autostrada. My goal was to stay someplace close to the airport so I could calmly get up, shower, have breakfast and then return my car before checking in for my flight.

The hotel is very much in need of some modernization as other have said. I found the chemical smell of whatever they used to clean the rooms particularly offensive. It was almost as if someone spilled a bottle of cologne. The pictures online are taken at very good angles and make the rooms look much nicer than they are.

The worst part of the room were the bathrooms with rusty, discolored fixtures.

The reception area stunk of smoke. I assume the staff sneak off somewhere to smoke on their breaks.

Really, it would take some minor updates to make this place seem much nicer: replace the hall carpet, clean up the bathrooms, some new curtains and bedding. And please, get rid of that horrid cleanser!

I went with a group of coworkers on a business trip where we worked in Sigonella in October 2012. This hotel was chosen for it's close location to Sigonella. I would look elsewhere before staying here again. The hotel has not been updated in years and clearly reflects it. The hotel's construction and door assemblies make the hotel VERY loud and not peaceful. There are few areas to relax at the hotel and the hotel's wireless internet is painfully inadequate. The morning breakfast is mediocre at best.

I hope the owners re-invest in this hotel, as it could be a lovely place. However, until then I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Room Tip: If you have to stay here, stay at the end of a hallway to avoid the noise.

The hotel is basic, not very expensive and near the airport of Catania.
The only problem is that you have to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel.
So it makes the price much higher for a nights stay: 30-35 euro for a taxiride from the airport.
Nice swimmingpool, but you don't need it if you'll only be there because of the vicinity of the airport. And really there is no other reason to sleep there!

We were so happy to arrive at this hotel in the middle of the night after driving around Catania in our hire car for over an hour even though it is right next to the airport. What a relief, brilliantly cold air con, loads of space 2 seperate rooms for our family.Even though the restaurant was long since closed the local petrol station sold excellent pizzas and cold beers!!( we are conoisseurs). The beds were adequate/comfortable and the breakfast buffet was fine. The pool was open for a swim the next morning and it is a big pool for the location. Despite it being so close to the airport the noise wasn't a problem. At 95€ for a family room i thought it very good value and handy for our onward journey to Trapani.

Average English speaking tired business hotel. Main asset is that it is close to the airport, with a convenient gas station at the entrance for refueling the rental car. Restaurant is very bland, zero atmosphere, ok food. Room was ok, good a/c, breakfast minimal. Would stay again if flying out early from Catania, otherwise not a great choice for vacationing.
